Transbuilt Transmissions
Hello, Just wanted to let everyone know what an excellent experience i had at Transbuilt Transmissions. First off I am a proud owner of a 2002 Acura MDX with that said they are know for transmission problems, I babied mine and the tranny finally went with 177K miles on it. Next I wanted to find the Best Rebuilt Transmission available for the MDX ,so I found this company out of Califonia that specialized in Honda and Acura Trannys, H&A Transmissions. So I called around to local shops with no luck. I then placed an AD in craiglist looking for someone who could help and that was familiar with H&A Transmissions and that had used them in the past. Next I received a call from Merl for Transbuilt Transmissions, he told me he had 40 plus years rebuilding transmissions and he was a currrent customer of H&A Transmissions and quoted me an awesome price which included a 3 year warranty. I am VERY picky about my cars and let me tell you he and his crew did an AWESOME job on my Acura in about a week. Merl also showed me all of the old parts from my MDX and also didnt try to sell me anything that didnt need replacing. I just want to Thank Merl and the Guys for an Awesome Job on my MDX and look forward to doing business with you in the future, Sincerely Andrew M.

Willow Bend Automotive
These folks have more "Excellent" stars than a Planetarium during showtime. Fantastic repairs of several vehicles that I own, coupled with a very fair price. If you live anywhere near Hwy 54 and Collier Pkwy, this is the auto repair shop you need to bring your vehicle to. Heck, even if you live in St. Petersburg Fla. you should bring your vehicle here!! The business ethos of Willow Bend Automotive is an honest repair for an honest day's pay. They will listen to your description of vehicular problem and go after it like a detective with a wrench set. Plus, they always give you an estimate of repairs up front, so you can make an informed decision. Take a good look folks, this is pure old fashioned Auto Repair Americana that's hard to find these days.

Go to Willow Bend Automotive, Cindy and Bob are good, wholesome and honest people. Its nice to know there are still places out there that you can trust. Because my husband travels alot for work, im in charge of my cars upkeep and repairs, and to know I can drop it off anytime and thats it's going to be done correctly and only what needs to be fixed is a huge relief. I know that Bob and Cindy care about my family and I's safety, as if it was their own family! Ive had alot of work done there over the last few years, including oil changes, new tires, tire balance/rotation, brakes, and mileage service requirements. I send my whole family and all my friends and clients here! Great business owned by a really great family.

SI took my 1996 Ford Explorer to this company because my transmission was shifting hard and seemed to be slipping. They diagnosed the problems with the transmission and gave me a quote. It seemed high to me so I took the vehicle to the Ford dealership. Their quote was almost double that of Transbuilt Transmission. I took it back to Transbuilt and they completely rebuilt the transmission at a much lower cost than Ford. The work was professional. I am more than satisfied with their work and now, with 265,000 miles on the vehicle, including the transmission rebuilding, if performing perfectly.

I went in for a routine transmission fluid replacement and ended up with a leaky transmission after (only 40k miles on my car). Then I was informed they needed the whole transmission to be taken out just to put the transmission pan gasket on properly, the way they should have the first time. I brought my quote from them to another mechanic and he said some of the parts on the quote don't even exist. The guys were nice and the prices were good, but I learned the hard way you get what you pay for with this service.

They are amazing! My Honda Accord would shift harsh and I took it to couple shops and they told me it was the transmission. A friend told me to try this place and they drove the car and inspect it and said they were no transmissions issues but the engine mounts were broken. I replaced the engine mounts and the car drives fine now and I saved tons of money. They are honest and knowledgeable which is hard to come by these days. I will trust them for my future repairs :)

Andrew and George is outstanding, they immediatly brought my car into their shop and treated it much better then anywhere else I have taken it. They ended up supercharging my 350z and the fabrication even down to the customer service was great. I will be back soon to have more work performed.

It is incredible to find true honesty from a business owner let alone an owner at a car shop. I have to say Willbend autos owners Bob and Cindy are truly the most customer friendly and down to earth people I have ever met. I will never go to another mechanic for repair and maintence on my cars.

Willow Bend Automotive was able to make an appointment that fit into my schedule. My car was quickly taken back to be serviced. My questions were answered in a clear and professional way. The waiting room is clean with new magazines and TV should I choose to wait.

My family has been taking our cars to George for years. He is honest and priced fairly. He doesn't just look at one thing but the whole car. Safety for you and family are important to him and that's important to us.
Tips & Advices
Among the common scams pulled are needless repairs, where a garage charges you for work that isn't necessary. Another popular one is attracting customers through a cheap oil change or tire pressure check. Then, when you your car is being repaired, they give you a long list of other corrections they'd like to make, therefore boosting the total cost of your bill. The best way to combat these types of problems is getting a written estimate before work is done so you can see how much repairs are expected to cost. If the final bill is higher than the estimate projected, ask to specifically see the work. Make sure information is put in writing as well. If a problem remains, you can have proof that work was not done to your satisfaction.
For winter driving, features such as the defroster, heater and exhaust system are paramount. Look in your owner's manual for specific directions on how features should be checked and repaired. Many newer cars have a cabin air filter that can be replaced when needed, allowing warm air to continue to flow in. Also, check tires before winter driving, as they need to be at the proper pressure to perform well on snow and ice.
In the spring and summer, you want to be sure your air conditioner and cooling systems work correctly. Given the high temperatures, overheating is a common problem. Look over the system by ensuring there is enough coolant available. If it needs to be refilled, it is best to open the hood and add more to the car before it gets too warm out. Also, clean out fan ducts and other ventilation sources necessary for summertime driving.
Some fixes to your car can be done without paying a specialist. Issues like replacing oil and air filters are relatively simple, with instructions provided in the owner's manual on how to make these changes. The same goes for replacing broken windshield wipers or burnt-out headlights. Such issues should be repaired quickly to guarantee safety, but don't require a visit to a garage.
Yes. Not every type of auto repair work needs to be done by a certified mechanic. You can fix some of a vehicle's issues just by paying attention to how the automobile is running and having a basic understanding of auto repair. Look over the ways weather may impact your car and what preventative measures you can take to avoid having to take it into the shop.
