My friend and I went to Khalil's on our lunch break for the first time and our experience was not great to say the least. We arrived at approximately 12:30, ordered our meals (grilled chicken sandwich on pretzel bread and cheeseburger on pretzel bread) and appetizer The manager comes out w/ our appetizer, goes to the table behind us and asks if they ordered fried pickles, they said no, he was on his way to the table behind them when we said we ordered them to which he replied, "I knew I was missing a table number." While we waited for our entrees we watched burgers and food go to one table that arrived about 5 minutes after we did and another table that had arrived a good 15 minutes after we did. As we looked around puzzled and a little miffed our waitress said she was getting ready to bring our food out, 10 minutes go by.... no food, the manager comes and says our food is coming right out... 5 minutes go by and finally around 1:20 we get our food. One would think after waiting that long that at least their food would be hot and fresh, but alas, the chicken was barely warm and the burger my friend got was not even warm. We were extremely disappointed. The service was unorganized and the food was way below par. I gave a two star rating because the business has only been open a week and owner came to us and was sincere in his apology for the lack luster service. I would wait a few months to give them time to "work the kinks out" as the manager put it, before visiting this establishment.Jan 25 2013- Went there again for lunch today; food was delicious and the service was great!! I will be frequenting Khalil's more often. Way to pull it together!!!!

Stoney River
The food at this restaurant makes my mouth water just thinking about it! It is mine and my husbands favortie place to eat. The restaurant is pricey but the food is totally worth it! The atmosphere is great too! Low lit romatic mood setting, or for other non-couples it is a very relaxing set. Table cloths cover the tables and there is a center bar that allows for walk up seating or drink purchase while you wait for a table. Be sure to call and make reservations for the weekend or you will have to wait over an hour to get a table (usually). I would highly recommend this restaurant for anything from buisness meetings to romantic couples nights out! Whom ever you bring will be highly impressed!

Southern Style Cuisine
Friendly staff and tasty food! Mama Shelia is bringing it to Kentucky! I met two of her daughters, Julia and Tia and was rather overwhelmed with the kindness the two had! I saw what appeared to be Shelia who is in her 30's I believe and cooking in the kitchen! I also saw another person back there working hard! I heard she has 3 daughters but I couldn't tell if that was her or not since he/she never looked up. Whoever it was keep it up because the food was fantastic. This is actually wayyyyyyyyy better than Big Mamma's and the surrounding area is calmer. I actually went into Big Mamma's the other day and the staff was just plain ghetto. Instead of Big Mamma's you should definitely come here!

Jack Fry's
In Lousville from Northern Virginia for The Derby City Classic. Dined at Jack Fry's last night. Very rarely do I experience perfection from start to finish. Negroni on the drink menu perfectly made balance of gin Comparie and vermouth. Bread was amazing and signature entre beef filet deliciously full of flavor obviously prepared with care and pride. Paired with Bordeaux a wonderful dinner. I enjoyed bourbon brownie house made ice cream and superb Americana coffee for desert. I dined at the bar. The bar tender/server was professional and personable unlike the experience I am now not enjoying at Veranese. Veranese is as much a disappointment as Jack Fry's was pleasure.

Outback Steakhouse
We love Outback, and this location is a good one. The service is typically very good (we've only ever experienced 1-2 "off" nights) and if anything is wrong they are quick to fix. Most of the servers have great attitudes, as well, and like to joke around and make you feel welcomed. It can be a little chilly in the restaurant (okay, it actually feels more like the Arctic instead of the Outback) so bring a jacket or sweater. And be prepared to wait; like every restaurant in he Louisville area, it's almost always packed! The Alice Springs Chicken and yummy bread are well worth the wait, though.

Jessie's Family Restaurant
My husband and I ate there on Sunday for the first time since it re-opened as "Good Ole' Jessie's Dixie Diner". We were very pleasantly surprised. The place has been remodeled and was clean and decorated very charming. We ate there for breakfast before church and we both had the Western Omelet which was large and very tasty. It came with fried potatoes and toast. It was very filling and satisfying. We spoke to the owner while there, which meant a lot to us. We will be back!!! A great addition to our Dixie Highway Community!

Bistro 301
I wanted to try foods that were unique to Louisville. The vistor center recommended Bistro 301 and so happy they did! We started with the Beer Cheese and Benedictine. From there, we had the Hot Brown and the finished off with the Derby Pie. Not having any of these items before, we had no comparison but we enjoyed each item. Our server was very pleasant and attentive to our needs. I would go back to Bistro 301 if I'm ever back in Louisville.

Corbett's Fine Dining
Wife and I went here for our anniversary. It was our first time going and I can't say enough good things about it. First off, the service was incredible! Our waiter made excellent recommendations. The food was great. My wife got the filet and I had the halibut and both of us were very pleased. It is pricey. Between the two of us, our meal was $160 after tip, but it was one of the nicer fine dining experiences we've had in this city.

It was a busy Tues night, (2/23/16) about 11 30 pm. There was one gentleman seating people, taking orders, and bringing food. He did such a great job at acknowledging the customers in a timely manner. He was very friendly and attentive. And since it was my birthday, I got the breakfast meal for free. This server deserves so much praise for his hard work. Thank you for making my birthday end well.Deven Bostic

El Tropico Bar Restaurant
You should steer clear of this restaurant unless you are Mexican or at least fluent in Spanish . The wait staff is pleasant enough but they don't understand enough English to be effective . This review was written after 2 visits .------ This restaurant was clean . I didn't get sick . & The steak in the 2 entrees that I tried was good , other than that I can't say much else that is positive.

Just a moment...
