Margaret's Moving & Storage
For the 4th year in a row, Margaret's Moving and Storage will provide instrumental support to the Louisville Marine Toys for Tots program. Last year, the Toys for Tots program provided over 70,000 toys to just over 21,000 children in the Jefferson, Oldham, Shelby, and Spencer county area through the great assistance of Margaret's Personnel and Trucks at no cost to our organization. In addition, Margaret's Moving and Storage joined the Honor Flight Bluegrass team and is directly responsible for the storage and delivery of the wheelchairs used to transport the WWII, Korean, and Vietnam veterans to their respective memorials in Washington, DC. Again, Margaret's personnel and trucks are used for the safe handling of this precious equipment and is the VERY REASON WHY YOU SHOULD MAKE YOUR NEXT MOVE with Margaret's Moving and Storage.

Maverick The Mover
I am a Real Estate Agent and have worked with a lot of different service providing companies including Movers. Brian and his guys are the best movers I have ever worked with. If anyone is looking for a recommendation or doing research: Maverick the Mover (Brian and Crew) is at the top of list. They were the hardest working, most polite, and trustworthy. They were not only the best priced, but also the most convenient and professional. I do not have one bad thing to say about their service and experience. I am so pleased that I decided to use them; I will never use anyone else.

A Local Van Moving & Storage
From the moment I called for a quote, I felt like this move was going to be a success...the gentleman that I spoke with provided an extremely reasonable and accurate quote over the phone (we underestimated the number of pieces). We had to move from combined households, had some heavy pieces and tight spaces. The 2 movers that showed up were on time (if not early) friendly, upbeat, and showed a lot of caution and concern for our belongings. They were quick, and extremely reasonable -- my husband and I would recommend them 100%.

Edward Neutz Sons and Daughters Moving Company
I used this company a few times and I have to say the 1st time was perfect. The guys were so nice and professional, on time, nothing was damaged. The last time just recently was total opposite. They were late, broke items and furniture had marks all over it because they did not wrap it they just threw it on a dolly!! I mean really!! This is not cheap furniture. They also got lost a 2nd time! I will not trust using them again. The only reason I gave 3 stars is for the first crew! They would deserve 5 but the last crew -1

A Local Van Moving & Storage
A Local Van was absolutely awesome to deal with. Very professional crew and did not touch a single wall. They even had to move a safe into a tight fit area and were very knowledgeable when it came to determining if it would even fit. I honestly cannot say enough about this moving company, very professional people and nice. I had done most of the packing/taking things apart which worked out great for time purposes. I would recommend them for anyone that is moving. This review is for the Louisville location.

Mac's Moving
I've moved around this region of the country approximately 12 times in the past three years. With that said, this is definitely the best moving company that i've used! Not only was the owner very personable & caring, the movers were also polite and professional. This came as a surprise because this is the first time I've come acrossed nice looking, polite, professional movers. It just doesn't seem common in the industry. Needless to say, I had a great move and the movers received a great tip ;)

A Local Van Moving & Storage
A Local Van was recommended to us and we called them on short notice. They were able to squeeze us in their schedule, gave us a quick estimate of cost over the phone and were very nice. They arrived on time and the movers had AWESOME attitudes!!! They were fun and funny and careful with our furniture and efficient. They were even willing to move a few items we hadn't listed on the original list and maintained their cheerfulness throughout the entire time they moved. We would recommend them 110%!!!

Mac's Moving
We hired Mac's Moving to move us from an apartment to a house within Louisville and were extremely pleased with their professionalism, care, and efficiency. Debbie Taylor helped us out by suggesting we use more guys and as a result, the move took less time than expected and came in under our original quote. She also provided some good suggestions on being prepared for the move and we cannot reccoment this company highly enough!

Tips & Advices
Yes, it’s best to empty drawers, wardrobes and chests before a move. Items always get knocked around a bit, and doors can fly open even if they’ve been taped. In fact, more often than not, movers will want to remove the drawers from a dresser--or disassemble the wardrobe to be more space-efficient.
Yes, it is customary to tip movers, but the amount varies widely. For full-service moves, a 5 percent tip is suggested, although, for extra service, some people go up to 10 percent . For small local movers, you can give each mover $10 for a few-hour job, or $20-$40 for jobs that take longer.
A bill of lading is the legal contract for the move. It provides a detailed receipt, in addition to a contract between the client and the mover. It authorizes the mover to transport the goods from one specific point to another, and it outlines the exact scope of services, with cost breakdown for those services. It also provides an itemized list of the inventory, and carrier liability protection for each declared item. Finally, it specifies the payment arrangement. Make sure to go over your itemized list extremely carefully before finalizing the paperwork--and get a copy of the full document. A good mover will go over everything on the bill of lading with the customer.
There are several items that moving companies will not move – those items will be listed on a document as “non-allowables.” These items typically fall in three categories: perishables, sentimental/personal items, and hazardous material. Perishables are food and plants. Sentimental/personal value is up to the client to decide, but usually includes jewelry, medical and dental records, personal paperwork, valuables and collectibles. Hazardous material is the tricky category, since it includes a lot of everyday items found in the garage, garden or kitchen. For example, cleaning liquids and pesticides both are considered non-allowable by many companies. Some go so far as to disallow nail polish and batteries.
A binding estimate means that the moving company cannot charge more than the stated amount, though they can lower the final bill if the scope of the job was smaller than expected. A non-binding moving estimate is more likely to wind up costing more than expected, since the movers can increase their rates for unforeseen variables like stairs, “long carry” and materials.

Just a moment...
