The front clerks have poor customer service, they was not prepared at all. I had to walk up to them three times to get different papers to sign and give insurance cards, they also was very rude to customers who was waiting in line to sign in, one lady had been there since 8:30am and did not get called to the clerk desk to fill out papers till 11:00am. When she got called she asked the clerk why she been there since 8:30am and just now being called but everyone else that done came in done signed in and is sent back to be seen and the clerk just laughed and said we are backed up. So the disappointed customer just gave them back their clipboard of papers and walked out. Then the clerk called other coworkers over there and they ran in the office laughing and carrying on as if the customers in the waiting room could not here them talk about the upset customers. I got there at 9:15 because I was told to be there early to sign papers but my appointment wasn t till 9:45, and at least six other families went before the lady that came at 830am. but we didn t get seen till 10:15 and was done at 11:46. Which I think was a long time for just a clean and one abstract. But the dentist and consultant was great they explained everything well, but the two young ladies at the front desk is very unprofessional. As we was leaving a lady had walked in to get service and the clerk was so rude to the lady that she just turned around and walked right back out and the clerk laugh and said there goes another one did you see that one, then eventually the manager came out to supervise the clerks area. I will not be returning to that KOOL Smiles on West Broadway in Louisville KY. They to ghetto just cause your business is in the hood doesn t mean you place of business got to be Ghetto too. I took my 3 and 4 year old for their first cleaning here. When i called i made sure to ask about going back and she said that would be no problem. But when we got there they acted like they were to old for an adult and they could go by themself and they didnt want me to come back. I told them that this was their first time and she said there is a little window so you can watch. I said that kind of defets the propose of them being scared and my daughter just turned three she's is still to young. They let me to back but went back and forth over where they should then put us. It seemed that no one in the office liked our hygienist and she kept making comments about the other staff. The other workers didnt look very happy to be there also and couldn't bring them self to bearly smile at the children. They were having a hard time explaining to my 3 year old about X-rays and had to have her open and close her mouth over and over again and she got ahead of herself and accidentaly bit her and she got a lot more angry then i felt she needed to be. The chairs are all in the same room so it doesn't even give the allusion of privacy. I could hear and see all the way down the other side of the room where they were talking to a teenager about all her cavities and all her previous work. By the time i left i knew her whole dental history. They never actualy did anythig wrong. Everythig was done how it should have been i just didnt feel comfortable there. The whole place and people set me off edge. I set their next appointments at mortenson down the road.

Ransdell James Randy
Dr Ransdell is a professional dentist, I went to two dentists, but in the end I prefered Dr Ransdell on the other dentist, of course because the experience that he has, plus that he's a very polite, respectable, and funny person. Once he will do a great job inside your mouth, he personally will call you the next day to check on you (just in case you swallowed your teeth) lol )))). I highly recommend Dr Ransdell for anyone wants to take care of his mouth, we (my wife & I) choose Dr Ransdell to be OUR family dentist. Also I won't forget to mention about his friendly staff, very nice receptionist who will take of you financially & will answer any question you have, very nice dentist assistant who has a very good experience. Lastly, I was getting nervous to go to dentists (personally I don't like anyone to mess with my mouth lol) but with Dr Ransdell, I just go then get my mouth fixed then go home happy with a temporary swollen lips lol ))). Again I highly recommend Dr Rasdell and his staff, thanks!

The only reason I gave this office more than 1 star was because the hygienists that worked on my daughter were actually very good with her. Other than that, the whole ordeal was awful. They lied to me when I made an appointment about the services that were offered. When we got there, I told the lady up front that my daughter has high anxiety at doctors, and this was her first dental visit, so I was worried. So they put her in "the quiet area," which is actually where they put kids that are having complete melt downs. My daughter was calm until they put us in that area. What kid wouldn't be scared listening to what sounded like a murder in the chair next to her. I wound up walking out with her. One of the hygienists followed me out and talked me into staying. They wound up putting her in a private room and my husband went back with her. Everything turned out ok, but this was a very chaotic and almost traumatic experience for me and my daughter.

I am sorry that your appointment was rescheduled. Unfortunately due to the 2 large snow storms in February we had to reschedule a lot of people. I'm sorry for the inconvenience that caused. And it is true that I speak in Spanish quite often. This has been a benefit to many of the Spanish speaking people in our community to have a Dentist that can help them in their native tongue. I have found that it helps me to provide better care to that segment of our population. I apologize if that made you feel uncomfortable an will be more aware of how others may feel. This was my daughter's first visit at the dentist and she loved the staff and the experience. She still says, "Mommy I wanna go to the dentist!" They were so nice to her and made her feel comfortable as well as myself. The only reason I wouldn't give them 5 stars is because the assistant that took us to get her vitals wasn't very pleasant and one of the ladies at the front desk area was LOUDLY on the phone discussing personal matters in which I felt should have been taken care of in a private area. I understand that she may have been on a break but there is a time and place to take care of out of work matters and the front desk where people can hear you loud and clear isn't the place. Everyone else was great and until I have horrible experience (which I hope that I won't), this will be my daughter's dentist.

Been here twice now. First time I was not happy. Took two hours for a cleaning. And then apparently they cancelled my follow up appointment and didn't tell me and had to Make another follow up appointment. (This was for my daughter to get a tooth extraction,)Well they had called me for another reason and found out they cancelled my appointment AGAIN. Filed a complaint and they fixed it. This last time I went It was great, didn't wait long and was amazing with my daughter and the extraction. Very nice and made her feel comfortable. (Was completely shocked on the turn around considering what I been thru) Hope to have that dentist every time. Have another appointment soon and will update my experience this time. Thanks , I'm hoping to stay at this place it's close to home. ����

Dr. Smith is a dentist who takes pride in his work, and he provides quality care. Another dentist had given me his name when my mother needed a new dentist. I've gone to 2 other dentists in my area, who have large practices, (one of those practices has gone through 3 dentists, which, in a single dentist practice, is not good!) and they have their staff members perform restoration and dental work. After losing teeth to poor quality care, I decided it was worth the drive from Jeffersonville to get good, quality care. It will take time to undo what other dentists have done, so see Dr. Smith sooner, rather than later. I wish I had! The staff is great!! They've taken good care of my mother for years. I'm glad to be a part of their practice, now, too!

I had a great experience with my 2 kids. The 2 lady's at the front were very nice and polite. My kids were treated very nice as well. Our appointment was very fast pace. My kids were called back on time and the dental assistants were so nice and was smiling and helpful. My 1 year old I got alot of help with because she was nervous, but the assistants helped me with her alot. I felt very comfortable and I would recommend anyone to come to Kool smiles on broadway. Juanita did a fantastic job with explaining to me how important to brush my kids teeth at night and help them floss to keep from getting cavities. And the doctors was fantastic!! I had an awesome experience. Thank you we will be back!!!!! ������������

  • If a tooth decays and the nerves or pulp (soft internal tissue which helps teeth develop) become inflamed or infected
  • If a tooth is cracked or broken and nerves are exposed
This generally depends on any specific issues you wish to address with your teeth. There are toothpastes designed to whiten teeth, fight cavities, decrease sensitivity, prevent bad breath, resist gingivitis, and those specific to children (with lower fluoride content). There are also toothpastes that offer “complete” protection by combining aspects of many of the above toothpastes.
It’s recommended to get a professional cleaning at least two times per year.
  • Desensitizing toothpaste numbs the nerves in the teeth that can cause discomfort.
  • Mouth guard can protect against grinding teeth during sleep.
  • Fluoride treatment can be applied by dentists to sensitive areas to numb teeth and strengthen enamel.
  • Root canal can treat problems in a tooth’s core.
  • Surgical gum graft where a piece of gum tissue is removed from a section of the mouth to cover an exposed root.
Not everyone needs to have their wisdom teeth removed, but there are certain signs that can help you and your doctor determine if yours should be:
  • Wisdom teeth are pushing other teeth around, causing pain and misalignment
  • Cysts form around newly emerged wisdom teeth, causing jaw damage
  • Gums get inflamed and swollen, causing cavities and pain
  • Doctor determine from x-rays that wisdom teeth will cause problems in the near future
