Shaggy Paws Grooming
i have a shih tzu and he hates getting groomed. he had a traumatic experience when he was a puppy and i know hes not easy to deal with. He wont even let me do it. Hands down the best grooming experience ive seen with him and the best hair cut, that he'll allow. I've taken him to numerous places over the years and he comes back with cuts and scars, or a whack job, or even once he was shaved but not his legs. This place gets the job done! the do the best job i've seen and i have shopped around. there pricing is on average with everyone else and they use slings to hold the dogs up. sounds strange, but I know they do that with cows to calm them and it works, so i assume it works with dogs to. I for sure feel bad he can be a terror, when getting groomed, hes normally a love bug, but they make it work and get it done.

Miss Lili's Pet Salon
These folks do a great job and seem to be very kind and considerate to my dogs. I have been here several times and have not seen any nicks on my dogs and their haircuts are just what I've requested. The prices are reasonable and I am happy with the length of time they take. I request that they call me when they are finished so I can pick up right away. My daughter and I bring in 4 small to medium dogs at a time between 9 and 10 am and they usually call between 1 to 3 pm. I have been unhappy with others because of the length of time it has taken and have had several places that cut my dogs' tail nub, ears or tummies. After 1+ years I am still happy with Miss Lili's.

Bow Wow Grooming
Been using bow wow for about a year now, im not a very easy to please person and my dog is not a easy groom. The girls always do a really good job with bandit. I have been to several shops in the city this one seems to be the only one that can get it right, the shop is cleaner than some ive seen... so that's a plus I suppose. and they always seem to get my dog back to me pretty quick I think. its about the same as many other shops as far as how long the dog is there. Im also on a fixed in come and the girls have worked with me on price several times to make sure bandit stays in good shape. They have been so good to this old lady !

Bow Wow Grooming
I had been searching for a groomer since mine retired, one that was willing to help me with my rescue work. I have found them! The girls at bow wow are saints! I have been going to bow wow for about a year now, and they have never let me down. Sometimes rescues can be in pretty bad shape but the girls at bow wow always manage to clean them up nicely. The doggies always feel and look so much better. Thank you Bow Wow !! Thank you for helping keep my doggies looking their best in their journey to find new homes !!!

Zoom N Groom
Beth does a Wonderful job on my Havanese! I keep his hair in a "puppy cut" instead of letting it grow to the ground. Much easier to maintain and it looks much cuter. I had taken Bentley to several places several times each and was never happy. He would always look choppy in places. And beeing a hairstylist I might be a little more particular than most. I have been sooo happy with what Beth does. We have used her for 2yrs now. Bentley always gets complements on his fantastic haircut!!

See Spot Grooming
Ashely is WONDERFUL! I had my three doodles groomed and I couldn't ask for a better result. My dogs are 11, 8 and 6 and I'd have to say that this was the best grooming ever! I really liked how Ashely came out to meet us and ask what we would like her to do. She gave suggestions to which we agreed. We also appreciated how she loved on each dog to make them comfortable. We are so happy to find a groomer so close and plan on taking them to Ashley for a long time.

Okolona Pet Grooming
I have two Yorkshire terriers, and we have had some bad experiences with other groomers. One of my dogs was resuced from a hoarding situation so the mannerisms of the groomer is so important to us. The groomer here is so sweet that I had no concerns about the grooming process. She also uses a sling type harness instead of the usual head loop which is also nice as well. Her fees are reasonable, and if you are looking for a new groomer you should definitely try her.

Miss Lili's Pet Salon
I'm a professional service and working dog trainer and I've been positively thrilled with Miss Lili's Pet Salon's, and specifically Nicole's, services. My dogs have received well over 2 dozen haircuts from Nicole and she's the only groomer I'll trust with young service dog puppies in training and working dog puppies undergoing socialization. She's gentle, thorough, experienced and her final results always look amazing. Can't recommend them highly enough.

Grooming Tails
When I brought my dog here the lady was very friendly and asked alot of questions to insure my dogs hair cut was excatly how I wanted it. When I recieved my dog back a few hours later his hair cut was just like we talked about. And when we returned 3 weeks later for his next hair cut he was excited to see her. Which made us feel really good knowing our dog wasnt scared. I highly recommend this place and I will not be taking my dog any where else.

Have recomended them quite often, have heard no complaints...
Tips & Advices
Some pet groomers have viewing areas where owners can sit and watch their pets being treated. Most prevent owners from being in the same room as the pet, however, as the owner's presence might cause the pet to become too excited.
Pets that cannot interact with strangers do not make good professional grooming candidates. Sometimes medication can help, but some groomers don't take animals that have been sedated. If a pet becomes too unruly, a groomer may end the session entirely.
It's best to fully vaccinate pets before bringing them to their first grooming appointment. Dogs should receive the DA2PPC vaccine, which stands for canine distemper, canine andenovirus type 2, canine parvovirus, and parainfluenza. It's also a good idea to vaccinate dogs against Bordedatella (aka “kennel cough”). In fact, New York City requires dogs receive both DAPP and Bordetella shots. Cats, meanwhile, should get the FVRCP vaccine: feline viral rhinotracheitis, calicivirus infection, and panleukopenia. In addition, all pets should be up to date on their rabies shots. Owners should wait at least 24 hours after getting their pet vaccinated before bringing it to the groomers.
Technically, there is no such thing as a pet that is too old for a professional groomer. In fact, older pets with joint or mobility issues often can't groom themselves and need someone else to clean them. However, pets that are blind, deaf, or have serious medical issues might not do well at a groomer, especially if the person is inexperienced. Owners should feel free to ask potential groomers about their understanding of elderly pet issues. Often, older pets will exhibit puppy-like behavior and squirm or yelp during grooming. Alternatively, they might not be able to stand for long periods of time. As such, grooming an older pet usually takes more time than grooming a young one.
Puppies and kittens should be at least 10 weeks old before their first professional grooming session. They should be used to being gently handled by strangers and comfortable being separated from their owners for a few hours at a time.
