I'm new to L.A. The engine on my 2011 Ford Focus was making a strange noise. I found ACE online and brought my car in. Tony, the owner, looked really busy, but he stopped what he was doing and walked up to greet me with a big smile and a handshake. Really nice shop, too. Clean and spacious. He asked me what the problem was and then checked under the hood. He explained the problem and had it fixed fast. Really fair price, less than I was expecting. Also, he noticed the air pressure on two of my tires was low and he filled them up for free! Great service, nice guy, great price. Tony is my new L.A. Car guy.

9.Mike's Performance Exhaust & Radiators
221 W Florence Ave
I have a very expensive car that was over heating. By the grace of God I had to park my car in front of this shop to let cool and to wait for Triple A to come and tow it to the shop I usually go to. Something told me to go inside and see if they could find the problem. Not only did they fix my car quickly, they charged less than $300 to fix a problem that certainly would have cost me way more across town. I'm a single mom and I barely had the $300 so I really appreciate these guys.

it has been several weeks since i went to m&d to have my brakes done and they are working properly. after inspecting my brakes dale told me that i only need to have my front pads replaced and my front rotors turned. the shop is small and family owned by dale. i found my experience to be honest and fairly priced which are the two criteria i look for.

Finding an honest and trust worthy auto repair shop is like finding a needle in a hay stack. Well I found it with this place. They have consistently gone the extra mile to diagnose and solve my vehicle problems and they have always been reasonable with their pricing. This is one of those shops that I will be taking my car to for years and years. Whenever I have a problem or need service, I know these guys will take care of me. If I could give them 10 stars I would!

20.Hyperion Auto Repair Inc
1845 Hyperion Ave
I went there. They looked at my car, gave me some tips, and I drove off without paying a dime. My car kept running low on oil before I was up for an oil change. I thought I had a leak or I would have to do expensive repairs to fix it if it was burning oil. They said there was no leak, it was burning oil, but slowly. So they told me to just check the oil periodically and add when necessary. They told me it was not worth fixing. I paid nothing.

I just moved to Los Angeles from Colorado and was panicing because my check engine light came on in my Jetta and I had no idea where to take it. I found Mezian from a google search and after comparing reviews between a couple of different service shops decided to take it here. \r \r As it turns out the Jetta needed MAJOR work. Harry, the owner was incredibly helpful and charged very fair prices for all the parts and labor. He got me a rental car for the days during which mine was in the shop and finished all the work in exactly the time frame he promised and at the quoted price. I got my Jetta back (washed) the next day and I could not have been happier with the service and professionalism of this business. \r \r I recently had to go back for some minor repairs and Harry once again took great care of me. \r \r I highly recommend this shop!
22.Rpm Brake Service
2900 S Robertson Blvd
One thing is true it is so hard to find a good honest mechanic. Sam & Harry really took care of my problems well and they did not even charge me for it "WOW". I have been to so many different shops in the area and everyone want to charge me an arm and a leg to try to see if the can even fix the problem. One mechanic tried to tell me I needed an new starter, battery and a alternator on my 1999 Ford F150 and this guy hooked up some sort of computer on it and was telling me look what the computer say to do($950.00 worth). When I went to Rpm(I Was recommended to them by my barber)they did not even blink there eyes and saw that my battery terminal was cracked and the cable was not making contact to send the right amount of power to operate the truck(computer)properly. After they fix The cable problem they connected their computer on and the whole system checked out very good. Its has been months since they repair it. My truck has been perfect running. I am very grateful to have met such a great group of guys Thank you again Sam and Harry at Rpm Car care Center Your Customer for Life Tony Smoza

25.Auto Mode Body Shop
5701 York Blvd
The correct address is 5701 York blvd, their new location, next Herbie's I have been a loyal customer for over 15 years Had my 2006 Nissan titan repair at auto mode, the shop is a small one but their work and quality is AMAZING, THE COLOR MATCH IS EXCELLENT , most of all they are very knowledgeable in every aspect of the collision industry and claim processing, they handle everything with the insurance and rental company, and kept me inform thru the complete repair process. I have referred many friends and family members and their experiences have been excellent. Great Family owned and operated little shop in Highland Park.
26.Four Ever's Auto Service
2824 W Sunset Blvd
Professional and affordable price! I just moved in the area for less than a month and I'm afraid to go and have my car checked because of the fact that I'm not really familiar with the area yet but after reading the review from KALIA @ yelp i was convinced to check this place. Well, Kalia is right this guy Ever is very professional. He tell you what you need and what is not. One more thing that is true about the review of Kalia is he don't take advantage of women. He actually taught how to check my oil hehehe which i never thought how easy is it. The price i would say is fair. I would definitely recommend this place to my friend and family. I finally found my new mechanic :) Thank you 4evers auto service.
27.Rantz Auto Center
1941 Colorado Blvd
This is a family run business that has been around for a long time and I've always been treated very well here. I trust them to be honest - they're not going to 'find' things that need fixing when taking your car in for an oil change. And they provide service for significantly less than what it costs at the dealership.
28.Gene's Automotive Service Inc.
7291 N Figueroa St
I tried Gene's, and they seem like a decent shop, but they said my Mitsubishi Mirage needed repairs to the A/C that later mechanics didn't think I needed. It was more expensive having Gene's as my mechanic than the mechanics I found later. Good customer service, and I'm not saying they're dishonest. I just think that they erred on the side of saying my car needed more expensive work than necessary.
29.Lancer Automotive Service Inc.
8151 W 3rd St
Do NOT waste your time. This place is way too expensive and they will not tell you what you can do on your own to save money. I took my car here to have it diagnosed. They would not deduct the cost of the diagnostic from the work to be done. They wouldn't even negotiate. They charged me $110 to reconnect a wire that was disconnected (literally, not exaggerating). Save your money and find an auto shop that is honest and reasonable, because this one is not.
30.Hobart Auto Mechanic & Tire Center
5255 Santa Monica Blvd
I have a 2006 Toyota Matrix and I was referred here by a mechanic at Jiffy Lube. Not the best endorsement I admit, but after looking at the Yelp reviews and the fact that it was super close to my house, I took a chance. I knew I needed my back brakes ""done""....I had stupidly driven about 9 miles with my emergency brake on and the subsequent squeaking noise made it pretty obvious something was amiss. I spoke to Gary who had one of the guys put my car on the rack. All I told them was to please check the brakes. After about 20 minutes he came back and told me my rear brakes needed replacing for $285 and the front had only 20% or less and that would be $245 for new pads and rotaring the drums. So over $500....though he did say he would do both for $450 if I paid cash. Classy. This sounded high to me, very high, so I asked for a minute to call my ""boyfriend"" and instead called the Toyota dealership on Hollywood. I spoke to the service Manager and he told me, first, it's very rare to need both, and second, they were offering a special of $165. I politely asked for my car back, the guy was pissed (sorry, I can't remember his name) and tried to convince me that his price was perfect and that the quality would be better than Toyota. Huh? I made an appt. for the next day at Toyota, after a brief inspection Oscar told me that my BRAKES WERE FINE! At least 50% available on the front and even more on the back. All I needed was an adjustment on the rear brakes, and for the burnt brake fluid to be flushed and replaced. For a fraction of the price, no more squeaking and I don't need new pads on the front for a minimum of 6-9 months and the back for probably longer. Liars and thieves.
