Rooter-Man
At about 10pm last night we had a nightmare sewage backup in our bathroom which overflowed into other parts of the house. I found Rooter Man Service online thru yelp from the great reviews and prices. It was late so I was worried we might not be able to get someone out to the house but to my surprise the phone was answered and I had a technician at my place within 45 minutes! He showed up and introduced himself very polite and knowledgable and very patient in uniform and all! We had a million questions and Gary was so professional and put us at complete ease. He explained the problem and offered various solutions to fix it. He started with the most cost effective option which was to use a snake to open the sewer line. That was not effective so Gary called the office and within 30 minutes a truck with a trailer showed up with a hydrojet. These guys saved the day! They offered a great referral for the water damage that we had so that we could salvage what was left of our bathroom.

Rooter-Man
We had a clogged sewer drain problem and we called Rooter Man Plumbing for drain cleaning service because we used them before and we were really satisfied. Victor showed up a little earlier than the time line and went right to work. He was very knowledgeable and explained the situation and options very clearly. What I thought was a simple unclog the drain turned into a 4 day job. Every day Victor came back smiling and polite. Walked me through every step and would show me the progression. He even went beyond and contacted my landlord and spoke with them to make sure they were informed and knew what was going on as well. Turned out that we needed to replace the entire pipe line. Again Victor explained to me as well at the owners what the process was and what to expect. They did this will minimum to no damage to the yard! When Victor was finished it looked like nothing had happened to my yard! I am draining free and clear! Super satisfied customer!

Harvard Heights Plumber
I called Harvard Heights Plumber since I have a leaking hose bib. They were known as a plumber here in Los Angeles. The plumber who came in my house was so reliable and knowledgeable, he was also quick and an expert. He did the job so clean and he even charge me a fair price for the job.

Yankee's Plumbing
Yankee plumbing was sent to my home from by a home warranty company -- twice. First time they came out they were truly awful. Second time the warranty company sent them, they did a decent job. A solid meh!

Ram Rooter
Unfortunately the address on Mission Blvd. is not real. I talked to the very nice lady over the phone, and she says they service the Pasadena, and Altadena area, not Lincoln Heights, or 90031.
Tips & Advices
It is important to have a written warranty for any work or repairs done to the plumbing in your house, especially if it is a major repair. Look for a professional  who is willing to  stand by his or her work.
Before you hire a plumber, contact their past customers if you're able to. These people can be a wealth of information if you ask them the right questions. Pose the following queries to these former patrons when you get the chance:
  • Were you pleased with the work done?
  • Was the project completed on time?
  • Did the plumber give you a written warranty and guarantee his or her work?
  • Were there any unexpected costs that arose?
  • Would you hire this plumber again? If not, why?
A permit provides added assurance that the work is done correctly. Having this in place means an inspector will check the work your contractor or plumber does to ensure he or she did the job correctly. If you plan on putting your house or commercial building on the market, a real estate agent and prospective buyers will want to check any large work you did to make sure it was done properly.
A trustworthy plumber will have both commercial liability insurance as well as be bonded. The insurance and the bond protects the plumber from paying for any damages made to your house out of pocket. Having professionals that carry both of these policies can protect all of you from any mishaps that could occur while they work on your building.
  • Before calling a plumber, try to unclog your drains and toilets yourself by using a plunger.
  • Make sure you use a standard bell-shaped plunger for your sink and shower drains and a plunger with a flanged end for your toilets.
  • If neither type can loosen the pipe blockage, put a plumber's snake to use.
  • Ratchet the snake down the pipe to eliminate any clogs.
