It was well meaning and the people are cool, but some of the practices were unbiblical (i.e, praying in tongues as a requirement and on outside contact for the first month and only letter writing and church (only visitation after the 30-day probation). While on probation, the only option of drink is tea (supposedly for "detox" purposes).Church service focuses mainly on praying in tongues for an hour, healing prayer and dancing around. Their doctrine is very unclear. Bible studies are limited and all translations are accepted. The senior members frown if a person considers leaving or taking another path in life and they stressed that a person does not talk to the next person about their plans. One of the house leaders even pressured me to attend church the day of my departure. My advice for those who feel trapped is pray for boldness and tell the leaders what you really feel and your reasons for leaving. Before accepting an invitation to a program, ask questions and consult with former members on their side of the story.

Catholic Churches
While baptized and raised a Catholic, I (like many) spent a good number of years away from sacraments, saints, Sunday Mass. When I happened upon Blessed Sacrament, I did not instantly become a church regular, but did feel drawn to them with their outspoken acceptance of all God's children (including gays, the homeless, ex-cons), their thought-provoking homilies (the Jesuit order is the thinking man's Catholicism), and their dedicated community outreach. Attending this church has brought a fresh perspective to my life; I always feel renewed after attending Mass. I don't follow every church rule and have my share of trouble being a good Christian, but Blessed Sacrament welcomes me and I am proud to come to her.

Our Mother Of Good Counsel Church
This is a beautiful, welcoming church. Warm and supportive community. I don't get to attend services regularly, but when we do, we are always welcomed. Community is more progressive than traditional Catholic Churches and welcomes all.
