I never had a issue with Dr. Mobaser. The procedure was fast and without problem. the staff was nice the office was clean and the price was good for my budget.

I've been a patient of Dr. Mobaser in Silverlake Dental for many years. I have had a great experience with him all these years and hope to continue getting all my family and friends, i've reffered him for all dental services. Dr. Mobaser is a very knowledgeable and extremely humble in his job. I truely recommend him to anyone for all your denal needs.

  • Go to the Downbeat Cafe Instead

I figured since I've had a strawberry-oj-banana smoothie at the Silverlake Coffee Co. before, it would be no problem for them to whip one up again.

Big mistake. A simple request, which was on the menu was met with staff attitude, hostility, and a bland tasting smoothie without the strawberries. Do yourself a culinary and experiential favor and head over to the Downbeat Cafe at 1202 N Alvarado. They don't have smoothies, but the rest of the menu is worth the forfeiture of a blended fruit drink

Expect the Downbeat to have better music, better service, better food, better atmosphere including more pleasant and stimulating artwork, and last but not least better coffee.

Normally I keep negative comments to myself, but once I saw that Dr. Mobaser got a 5 star review, I had to create an account just to write this review. The 5 star review was obviously written by himself.

All the other reviews are true: He yells at his staff. He makes you uncomfortable. He calls you ""patient"" instead of using your name.

I got a filling that became very sensitive to temperature and pressure, and when I went back to him and asked if he could do something about it he tried to make me feel stupid, or like I was making a big deal out of nothing. I became so upset that I was about to get up and walk out when he had to talk me back into my chair.

I went back several times, hoping things would get better but it didn't. So now I've found another dentist - one who doesn't make me nervous about stepping into his office.

  • They forgot my bagel, and then it had hardly any cream cheese!

I got my Latte right away, and it was delicious. But after putting a dollar in the tip jar, my bagel somehow got lost in the shuffle of other patrons. I watched a few omlettes come and go from the skillet to people who were behind me in line until I got the server's attention. She still made one more order before mine. When I got home and bit into the bagel, it was totally dry! I opened it up and saw a small dab of cream cheese slapped across the center, right over the hole. It was a crappy cafe experience.

  • Find a different Dentist in Silverlake!!

Like another reviewer, I started this account just to write about how bad my experience here was. I think the thing that made me most uncomfortable was the way he treated his staff. I have never had a dentist yell at his staff in front of me, let alone the entire time he worked in my mouth! I just had work done and he told me I needed to get 4 cavities filled ?? He was friendly to me, but I couldn't justify supporting a business run by a man who treats his female workers so poorly. I went only once for a cleaning and am still battling to get my x-rays back to go to another place-- They told me to come in at a specific time to pick them up they were not ready. Also sub-par for cleanliness. I am all about going local, but it's not worth it at silverlake dental.

  • Awful Dentist - BEWARE!!

What an awful experience. I assumed it would be okay to go to ""Silverlake Dental"" but it was a huge mistake. This dentist was unprofessional and behaved in an inappropriate manner during my entire appointment. He was yelling at his assistant and yelling at me. While he was drilling to do fillings he asked me to raise my hand if I had any pain. I raised my hand several times (usually I never feel anything during fillings with other dentsits) and he repeatedly told me during the process that ""no, you don't have pain"". He continued to address me as ""patient"" and did a poor job on the fillings. I have to go to a different dentist immediately to have them corrected so I can close my teeth down correctly. The dentist was also lecturing me about how some dentists are honest and some are not. He didn't tell me that he was an honest one. I believe he is dishonest. He was speaking another language with the receptionists/assistants. He performed 3 fillings when I was only scheduled for 2. I had no idea I needed 3 and he never explained that or asked my permission. When I went to pay, they charged me for 3. Bad experience!!

  • The worst dentist I've ever been to

I had the exact same experience as the previous reviewers. I thought I might has just had a bad day here but I see it's not the case. I went in for just a cleaning and he told me I had 5 cavities. While I am not a dentist, I looked at my xrays and didn't see anything. I've had a few to know what they look like. I've had very good dentists in the past who explained and showed everything.

So anyway I let him work on the three and it was by far THE most painful experience at a dentist I've ever had and that's over having braces twice and wisdom teeth taken out. I'm not a baby when it comes to pain but this I almost made him stop. I had to really fight not to lift my hand to his neck. It's best not to do that when someone had a drill running in your mouth.

I waited 30 minutes before he saw me after I had my xrays done, then another 30 from the time he saw me again to clean, then another 30 before he came back to work on the cavities. I almost walked out twice with full dentist garb on. (the neck bib)

The cleaning was also the quickest I've ever had. He used some machine to quickly buzz over the teeth and maybe 3 or 4 minutes of polishing. No flossing nothing else. I've never had a cleaning last under 30 minutes before.

He was rushed, rude, rude to his staff, hard to understand... I really don't trust this guy. I went because it's close to my home and in a great location. But I wouldn't have this guy touch my mouth ever again. I have to go and pick up my x-rays this morning though, and that I fear.

I had such an unpleasent experience that I created an account so that others could avoid this place. I went there because it was super convienent, being in my neighborhood. The doctor was a cross between nice and creepy to unpredictable and rude to his staff. It was the fastest cleaning that I have ever had. So fast that I feel like I need to go somewhere else. He doesn't explain things well and I feel like it may be due to his English. I felt uncomfortable to witness him yelling at his assistant.

Also from the cleaning they said I had one cavity, when I came back to fill it I suddenly had 4. Hmmm....
The tip of the iceberg was being charged randomly again a few months later.

My advice is save yourself and go somewhere else. Too bad this place is in Silverlake! Love to stay local.
