All In One Guitar
Store owner is very authentic and experienced. He knows what he's doing. Variety of guitar selections and repairs are super cheap. Guitars at this shop are all retouched by their luthier for better setup, sound and playability.

Great job on helping me find the perfect piano for me. I have no idea how to select the best type of instrument but the people here assisted me.

Record Surplus
This is NOT the old Record Surplus that used to be on Pico Blvd. Owner sold business. New owner stands at counter all day checking out every girl that walks in the place, They NEVER play any cool / punk/ metal and always play quiet music. Also they pay the lowest prices for your records of any store . This place reminds me of a Dentist's office. NO cool posters, just some nice pictures on the wall.

Gimme Gimme Records
I read about this record store in a book about Los Angeles area record stores and thought I'd check them out. What a great selection of both new and used vinyl records. They had so many great albums to choice from I had a hard time narrowing my selection to my budget. Their prices are also very reasonable.

Amoeba Music
Finally sold off my entire 80's Madonna/British pop record collection and I thought the pricing I received was pretty fair. They make the process of selling very easy and the staff was friendly and helpful. Afterwards I spent significant time in the DVD section and found a lot of great old movies and TV collections. I've spent hours in the CD collection in the past and they have many hard-to-find releases.

The Record Collector
Been popping in here once in a while for 30 years, never bought anything because I was always insulted then kicked out. Several times I engaged Sandy in a sort of discussion to try and find out why he is such a miserable s.o.b. Do not ever shop here- nothing is priced and the owner will make up a price based on your sex, how you are dressed and whether you are willing to lick his boots. An extremely unpleasesant man for many years- a failed violinist who carries a chip on his shoulder the size of Gibraltar. He and John at Counterpoint books are the two worst store owners for recorded music in the entire L.A. area Caveat Emptor!
