CBL Landscapes
Amazing work! Wonderful to work with! Great attention to detail (and I am very hard to please,I have a need for perfectionism when it comes to anything visual). Renata takes care of the plants with attentive care, her workers are great, and she truly cares about the artistry as well as the integrity of the job! Thank you Renata for making my garden (and keeping my garden) beautiful and heallthy! :) highly recommend

I am a Realtor in Miami Florida and one of my favorite long time clients moved to Los Angeles recently and needed a reliable and professional yet highly skilled landscaper for her new west coast home since she wasn't too happy with her california broker connections. Renata came to us highly recommended from another broker who used to live and work in the Los Angeles area and now lives in Miami, let me tell you I feel much better now knowing my former client and friend is in Renata's hands! I recommend her and her landscaping work 100%!

Turf Terminators
So I'm woken up at 7:15 AM to the sound of machinery. I try to go back to sleep but I keep hearing it running along with the sound of yelling in Spanish and the occasional loud whistle.I get dressed and peek outside to see a Turf Terminator truck parked nearby. And a few hundred feet away are the workers with a large pile of mulch near them preparing to work. So let's break it down, Turf Terminators:At 7:15 AM on a Thursday some people ARE ASLEEP. So hearing your workers scream or whistle is rude and f-ing annoying. I don't care if it's legal for them to start work at 7 AM - they don't need to be screaming across the way to have a conversation with the worker near the truck - it's 7:15 AM - SHUT THE F-CK UP! PS. Maybe you dicks should change your name to SLEEP TERMINATORS instead.....

Turf Terminators
Regarding the "free" drought tolerant landscape from Turf Terminators - I waited a few weeks before I got an email back from them after applying and from that point on things moved pretty quickly. I still like the idea of having a drought tolerant lawn but I should have researched more. The mulch I got from turf terminators was disgusting. I requested red. They showed up with a truck full of brown, which when dry looks like dusty dirt. When the truck pulled up I thought it was dirt. They brought the wrong color and the foreman guilted me into using it. My bad. I should have insisted they give me what I ordered. But the guys were working so hard and it was "free" so I said OK. The problem is I think the mulch is ugly and mold (or some kind of bacteria) is popping up in several spots all over the front yard and back. This is really gross. First it is white, then it turned dark red and flies were it. So nasty. I was expecting the land cover to be WOOD CHIPS. This stuff has wood chips but it is not like the kind from home Depot. It smelled like fertilizer for days and has all kinds of stringy dirty things in it as well. And as I said, patches of creamy colored mold are growing sporadically through out the front and back yard. In addition to the mulch which is gross and not what I asked for, I think there is some thing wrong with the sprinker system. I turned it off because the plants are doing good (more about that later) the other day I heard water in the pipes. I went outside to check. The system was off but I could hear water in the pipes. I'm no plumber obviously but I know what water sounds like. Something is going on there and I suspect (though I can't be certain) it is turf terminator's low cost sprinkler system. I say that mostly because it doesn't look sturdy. The pipes are installed sort of crooked and it looks very flimsy. Last issue I have is the choice of plants and the layout. Since I am not a landscape designer I trusted turf terminators to do it. I saw so many awesome lawns online that they had on their site and assumed our house would look as nice. NOT. They used only 4 kinds of plants for our entire yard front and back. Only 1 plant didn't make it so that is pretty good. But there isn't much variety. They asked me if I wanted to have a say in the design when we first signed up and I said no. My bad. I highly recommend having a say in the landscape design, requesting a complete list of the plants they will be using, negotiating for the right level of variety for your house, demanding high quality wood chips and not recycled yard waste (or whatever it was I got) get the cell phone number of the foreman for future service questions, especially for the sprinkler system, and shutting it down if at any point something doesn't look right. Remember, you are going to be stuck with this lawn for a long time. And they are not responding to my email. They have not gotten back to me about these issues which is why I am leaving this review on Yelp. I plan to return to this post with photos of the mold and the sprinkler system. I'll also return with an update if and when I hear back from them.

Had a terrible experience and would never recommend this company. Owner took our money, lied and never completed the project. Doesn't pay his workers.

Camarena Landscapes, Inc.
I would recommend Camarena Landscapes in a heart beat .Our property has never looked better and it sure is comforting to know the Camarena team is there every Thursday to make sure it stays that way. We have used many different services before and always had problems with “no shows” or things just not right. We have never had that issue with Camarena Landscapes and besides that the guys are polite and very detailed in their work and always on time. I also have to mention that it sure is nice to have a true professional help us with our landscape lighting, irrigation and plant and tree care. We can just relax and enjoy the yard and not have to worry or waste valuable family time doing it ourselves. Keep up the great work!

Camarena Landscapes, Inc.
Put simply we are delighted with the garden Camarena Landscapes has given us.Of all the people we asked to visit and quote, Thomas seemed to be the only one to listen and understand what was wanted. Others just wanted to go for the simple option or what they would want in a garden, what they knew. We asked for NO GRASS, an area of water for fish, the sound of running water, differences of texture in the hard landscaping, a pergola against the house, perhaps some cover to sit under in the rain. We wanted it modern and edgy rather than old-worldly……….The design we have grew out of discussion between us. Whenever we came up with ‘I wonder if……..’ ‘I have seen……’ the idea was always looked into fully. Possibilities given and so the design grew. Thomas sourced all the items, including a modern water feature. I will admit to feeling a little apprehensive when the feature was fitted without us first seeing it. Why worry? Thomas had listened and knew exactly what we wanted. The quality of workmanship is excellent. Thomas stated wish is to build relationship with his customers rather than complete and move on. I have every confidence that if I needed to call on him he would be here to help, if I had any other projects I would not hesitate in going straight to him to take on the work. In keeping with that wish to build relationship it was a real pleasure having Thomas here each day in the ‘back yard’. They were fun and good to have around, that feeling is still here when we go into the garden to enjoy it and work in it. I hope we can work with them again and would recommend them without reservation…..

Tips & Advices
The cost of landscape design varies depending on the scope of the project. Expect to pay anywhere from $2,000 to upward of $11,000 for the initial design. The cost of purchasing and installing the necessary elements can cost from $11-$17 per square foot.
Many landscape designers provide maintenance services that can help keep landscape looking neat and attractive. These maintenance services might include hand pruning of ornamental shrubs, insect and disease control, weed management, tree trimming, mowing, fertilization, and leaf removal.
Landscape design is the process of designing the look of the outdoor space that is being enhanced. Landscape installation is the process of installing all the elements needed to make the design a reality.
When choosing a landscape designer, it's essential to select one whose design style matches your tastes, and evaluating a landscape designer's portfolio of previously completed projects will offer insight in this area. An n experienced landscape designer will have the background necessary to navigate unexpected challenges that may crop up during the project. Select a landscape designer who is licensed, bonded and insured. If you prefer organic gardening, choose a landscape designer whose practices are in line with this philosophy.
The size of the project plays a role, and larger landscape design projects will take longer to complete. Once the initial site visit has been made, it can take up to four weeks for the landscaping professional to complete the design. After the design has been prepared, it can take up to three weeks for the installation to be completed. Any alterations made along the way will lengthen the process.
