Exposition Park Top Kitchen Remodeling
We recently worked with Exposition Park Top Kitchen Remodeling to have some remodeling done on our house. The main project involved expanding a half bathroom into a 3/4 bathroom. We're very happy with the quality of work they did. They executed the vision we had and were easy to work with. Also, they were very clean--each morning covering our floors and cleaning everything up at the end of the day as well. We would work with them again.

Monty did an amazing job at my house setting up shelfs, installing a chandelier and fixing a leak from my own shower. He was also very considerate with the cost and thought of strategies to save cash on the repairs. You must definitely hire him!

An extremely outstanding experience. We'd recommend these highly. From begin to finish, an extremely professional job --absolutely no complaints. They managed all facets of the project -- uploading images, programs, approvals in the inspectors, all that we need to do is cash the check we received today from the nation. Their employees and field employees are all top-notch!! Professional and conscientious.

CCLA
After a positive experience doing business with Edward 3 years ago, we hired CCLA to renovate our new office location in Burbank, we had an excellent customer experience during each & every stage of the process. Edward was remarkably knowledgeable & took the time to discuss our needs, budget & concerns. Edward, & his crews were very skillful, did superb work, and cleaned up so the job site was clean & neat every day. CCLA is a great Los Angeles based company and I highly recommend them for all your construction needs.

Mancini Contracting
Frank and his guys came in to repair a botched bathroom remodel that I attempted last summer. I started the remodel myself because I have been disappointed in almost every contractor I have ever hired, and after just one visit to Lowe's I felt I was up to the task. I was very wrong! We have been living with the dysfunctional mess for quite a while and it is obvious that I do not have the time or the skill to make things right. Frank was referred to me by a friend and I was not disappointed. He is very trustworthy and I am grateful to Frank and his crew for getting all the work done quickly and for doing it at a very reasonable price. I highly recommend Mancini Contractors, they are the BEST!
Tips & Advices
If there is ever a dispute regarding payment over the course of the project, a contractor or subcontractor could place a payment claim, or lien, on your property. To avoid this, ask the contractor to sign a lien release, which is a legal agreement that states that any payment accepted is final. This can come in handy if a contractor has his or her own payment issues with their subcontractors. Signing a lien release form certifies that any payment made by a client to the contractor is enough to pay for any goods or services rendered.
Absolutely ask. Paying too much up front offers the homeowner minimal leverage if the quality of work does not meet expectations or contractual specifications. Try to establish a reasonable pay schedule, such as paying 10 percent of the total cost for each 10 percent of the work that is completed. Include this payment plan in the contract, as well.
Before any money changes hands, there should be a contract to sign. Make sure the specifics of the work and all costs are listed in the contract, including details. If you forget to have something included in the contract after signing it, there's rarely a chance of recourse.
Ask the contractor for proof of their certification before signing anything, as well as their proof of insurance. You should also check your homeowners insurance policy to see if they offer coverage for contracted work. You may want to call your insurance provider and ask for more details on what your plan will and won't cover.
Yes. Plans for how the work site will be cleaned at the end of each day as well as at the conclusion of work need to be put in writing. An experienced general contractor should make every effort to keep the workspace clean and prevent dirtying or damaging any other area. Even so, talk with the contractor about the daily schedule, the logistics of transporting workers and equipment, and how cleanup will be handled.
