Automotive Carburetor Exchange
I'm new to L.A. The engine on my 2011 Ford Focus was making a strange noise. I found ACE online and brought my car in. Tony, the owner, looked really busy, but he stopped what he was doing and walked up to greet me with a big smile and a handshake. Really nice shop, too. Clean and spacious. He asked me what the problem was and then checked under the hood. He explained the problem and had it fixed fast. Really fair price, less than I was expecting. Also, he noticed the air pressure on two of my tires was low and he filled them up for free! Great service, nice guy, great price. Tony is my new L.A. Car guy.

All Japanese Auto Parts
The 10 percent discount does not exist complete lie 100% you tell the guy a part you need and he tells a price he makes up off the back of his head plus tax some of these parts prices are higher than auto zone or o Riley new. And the parts are from salvage cars if you want to get ripped off go there if not just go to pick a part or buy the part new for like 5 or ten dollars more I really would not go back because I feel I got ripped off and paid way too much for used parts

Alpine Auto Dismantling & Repair
Great bunch of guys, helped me with my issues on my BMW E66 7 Series. I had an electrical issue which no mechanic shop was able to figure out. Finally Alpine got refereed and did the job in good speed of time. It was nightmare driving that car with the problem it was having. Car kept shutting off, even on the freeway, glad i found Alpine. Plus they got a junkyard as well which helped the repairs go faster.

European Collision Clinic (ECC)
ECC is simply the best, most efficient and professional body shop in LA. I just drop my car there. I received a rental for no out of pocket cost, no deductible, no BS questions. After few days I went and picked up my car. It was very professionally repaired, washed and was ready to be picked up. No hassle, no headache, no extra cost.Thank you ECC,

Knowledgeable staff and a solid selection. This is the closest car parts store to my house, and I am happy that it is. They know exactly what you need and if they don't have it they can get it in a day or two. I've also seen them out in the parking lot helping out people who have an immediate problem and can't manage it themselves.

Pep Boys Auto Service & Tire
I took my car here when I got a nail in my tire and they quickly patched it up for a very reasonable price and sent me on my way. I took it to them another time when I had another nail, but this time through the sidewall. They couldn't patch it but swapped over to the spare for free while I shopped around for a new set of tires.

Pep Boys Auto Parts & Service
Diego and Jose helped me out on a set of tires. I don't know much about cars, but they were patient, helped me understand my options and then price matched a deal for me from a competitor. Great experience!

Tips & Advices
Depending on the part and its overall quality, a good amount of money can be saved by purchasing aftermarket parts versus OEM parts. But aftermarket parts that are low in price might also be lower in quality and could do more harm than good to your car, or they may need to be replaced more frequently than a more expensive counterpart. This could lead to saving some money in the short term, but spending more than anticipated in the long term.
The type of tires being purchased is the most significant determinant of their price. SUV tires are more costly than average car tires. And high-performance tires are more costly than economy grade tires. On average, standard tires for an average-sized vehicle are around $100 per tire. Standard tires for an SUV are around $150 and pick-up truck tires are about $200 on average. Some dealers offer discounts if purchasing more than one tire.
Car inspections typically take about an hour. However the wait time can be longer depending on how busy the shop is. Call ahead for an appointment to avoid long wait times.
Depending on the manufacturer, certain aftermarket parts can be just as reliable as Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) parts. But one item within a vehicle, like oil filters for instance, could have multiple manufacturers and there could be inconsistencies in quality among them.
Costs of replacing a windshield can vary greatly depending on a variety of factors:
  • Vehicle make and model
  • How much of the cost insurance will cover
  • Whether the windshield installers come to your location or you bring the vehicle to them
  • Standard service costs of the windshield installers
Generally, newer and higher-end vehicles cost more to have their windshields replaced because certain manufacturers use modified or proprietary glass types.
