Cole's Appliance Repair Inc.
I usually don't take the time to do this, but I feel that my experience with Cole's Appliance Repair warrants it. I was forced to use Cole's by the company that I have my extended warranty with. But once my warranty is up, I will NEVER use them again, nor would I recommend them to anyone. It took a little over a week for them to get my parts in. This is probably normal, but during that time, they wouldn't give me any updates as to when they expected the parts in...only that they would call to schedule an appointment once they got in. When their technician came out to do the repair, I watched him struggle with figuring out how to get the front of the dryer off. He tried 3 times to pry it off, finding more screws to remove between attempts. When he finally got it off, I noticed some black clips fall out. He then had to ask me for some tools because he didn't have the correct tools with him. At that point, I had to leave to get back to work. The first thing that I noticed when I got home was that some of the clips that had fallen out were on the floor. He never even bothered to put them back in. When I got home and tried to use the dryer, it wouldn't spin. The motor would hum and then the dryer would shut down. I called them the next morning and they sent the same tech out to take a look at it. He called me to let me know that the belt had come off and caused the drum to bind up. However, this was a lie because the dryer was never able to start for the belt to come off. Meaning that the tech messed something up when he replaced the parts and whatever he did was causing the drum to bind up. When I got home that night and tried to use it again, the drum would spin, but only for 2-3 seconds and then the dryer would shut down and give me an error code. I have not been able to use the dryer since it was "repaired" so the error code is obviously due to the technicians shoddy work. I called them, again, this morning to have them come out, again, and was told that they couldn't get someone out to me until Tuesday, this is Friday. I'm on 3 weeks now of trying to get a simple fix done. I have called Warrantech, told them about my issues, and have requested that they contact a new repair shop to finish the repair to my dryer. I would steer clear of this repair shop. I can't speak for all of them, but the tech that came to my house was clearly out of his element and the support staff at the office has terrible customer service.UPDATE: Seriously, I only give them 1-star because I can't give them zero. After Cole's third failed attempt, Warrantech sent Dan's Superior Service to my house. The technician, Rory was awesome! I could Immediately tell that he was a competent technician. Upon disassembling my dryer, he was able to determine the Cole's technician had lost 3 of my clips, had broken the mounting tab off of the brand new blower that he installed and forgot to plug in a sensor, which was causing it to shutdown and give me the error code. The difference in technicians and companies was night and day. Where Cole's customer service in the office and technician's ability so miserably failed, Dan's Superior Service excelled. I can't say enough good things about these Dan's....I would highly recommend them to anyone.
Tips & Advices
If the washing machine is overloaded or all the clothes are packed to one side, the imbalance can cause the washing machine to jerk and shake. These vibrations can be violent enough to slam the machine against other objects, possibly causing damage to its exterior.
Refrigerator coils should be cleaned at least twice a year. Households with pets should clean their refrigerator coils more frequently.
To reduce the risk of foodborne illnesses, the U.S. Food and Drug Administration recommends homeowners set their refrigerators at or below 40 degrees Fahrenheit and their freezers at 0 degrees Fahrenheit.
In terms of operations and upkeep, gas dryers are less expensive than electric. The actual savings depends on the cost of gas vs. electricity in the area. Still, gas dryers heat up faster than electric ones do, making them slightly more energy efficient. However, gas dryers are priced higher than electric ones, so homeowners should prepare to pay more at the outset.
Proper maintenance helps most home appliances last longer. Homeowner's should check their user's manuals for insight on how often to inspect, clean or upgrade their appliances.
