The Cabinet Shop
I can't say enough about the excellence of this company... but I will try! First of all, I was greeted by Sam on my visit to the store. He was very friendly, and explained how the store works. Basically, there are about 10 cabinet choices, all as is shown, color, shape, etc. And, the prices are on display for you to clearly see the cost differentiation amongst the choices. There are no hidden charges or calculators-the same price for everyone! Sam made me feel very comfortable purchasing my kitchen cabinets AND be ready to save a lot of money! He came out promptly to the home for a free measure and design. Overall, this was by far the best company I have worked with for this kitchen remodel. Integrity is very important to me, especially when doing business. To know that you are treated fair and honest are rare today-I can assure you, you will not be disappointed choosing The Cabinet Shop.

The Cabinet Shop
After getting a quote from Lowes, I stopped by The Caninet Shop to get a comparison quote. Sam, the owner, was very helpful explaining the cabinet design and promptly sent me an emailed quote. Sam quoted us at a much lesser price than lowes for a substantially better quality product. He came out to our home to measure and had some great design ideas which allows us to ultilize the most storage as possible in our small kitchen. He did it all, ordered, quickly answered questions/e-mails, made a change to our order when we ran into a problem with the demolition, delivered the cabinets, and made sure we were satisfied with the product. Top notch customer service! He referred an installer for the cabinets and another for the counters, both of which did phonimal work. I would HIGHLY recommend going with this local business, we couldn't be happier that we did.

Great Lakes Gutter
I called all of the local gutter places to get the best deal. I left a message at all of them because they don't answer their phone, and they also don't call back. Great Lakes Gutter not only answered their phone but they scheduled an appointment for the free estimate within days of the call. The person who came out was very professional, prompt, and gave advice on size and the guard. He didn't push me toward the most expensive because I didn't need it. The guys came out a few days later for the install. Prompt, finished quickly, very friendly, and had very nice things to say about the company and how much they like working for them. I would definitely recommend Great Lakes Gutter 100%

Great Lakes Gutter
Johnny arrived at our home answered all our questions and gave us a fair quote. We knew from our first meeting with Johnny, that this was the company for us. We called and set up a installation date Wednesday, January 21, 2015 but we had to reschedule because of snow. On Friday, January 23rd, Ron and the crew arrived ready to work. These guys operate like a precision drill team. Ladders up, Gutters off. These guys replaced rotted boards, redirected the new gutter system for better drainage away from the house. They even repaired a small hole near my roof. All this in 5 hours, including clean-up. Thank You Guys!

Great Lakes Gutter
I purchased seamless aluminum gutters along with gutter guards. They came on time and had the whole job completed in just over two hours, even though it was only 10 degrees outside! They made sure to clean everything up and cleaned all the crap off my porch awnings as well. Very professional and friendly, and they gave me a free hose attachment to spray off my gutter guards when needed. My house looks so much better and for a great price as well!

I obtained three estimates for replacement gutters on my Ferndale bungalow. The quote from Johnny ended up in the middle. I went with Great Lakes because of their incredible service and attention to detail. Johnny came out and made some great recommendations. The crew was nice and I love the final results. I can't say enough about how professional this company is compared to most others I came across in this line of work.

Great Lakes Gutter
Happy!Happy!Happy! They replaced all gutters and added gutters to detached garage using heaver gauge aluminum and a up sized 6" gutter on one section of the house that handled a large volume of water that I requested .I also requested this from other companies and was either denied or charged 20 to 30% for upgrade Great lakes did the work and beat the other companies prices by 30 to 50%

John gave us a detailed estimate and outlined our options clearly. The crew arrived on time, and discussed what the installation entailed. They were very efficient and flexible, suggesting changes to improve the water flow away from the foundation. In short, John was straight with us and the crew did an excellent job with the installation, all at a fair price. Five stars.

Called for an estimate to repair my roof. The owner came out on time and personally gave me a thorough estimate and explained the entire process to me in a way I could understand. Work was performed in a timely manner and exceeded my expectations. Very professional service. Would definitely recommend this company!

Americas Best Value Inn - Livonia/Detroit
This place is a good place and really affordable. It was clean and the owner was really nice! He went above and beyond for us, I would recommend staying here.. There are security cameras all over the motel, and like I said, the owner was very nice and helpful.
Tips & Advices
If there is ever a dispute regarding payment over the course of the project, a contractor or subcontractor could place a payment claim, or lien, on your property. To avoid this, ask the contractor to sign a lien release, which is a legal agreement that states that any payment accepted is final. This can come in handy if a contractor has his or her own payment issues with their subcontractors. Signing a lien release form certifies that any payment made by a client to the contractor is enough to pay for any goods or services rendered.
Absolutely ask. Paying too much up front offers the homeowner minimal leverage if the quality of work does not meet expectations or contractual specifications. Try to establish a reasonable pay schedule, such as paying 10 percent of the total cost for each 10 percent of the work that is completed. Include this payment plan in the contract, as well.
Before any money changes hands, there should be a contract to sign. Make sure the specifics of the work and all costs are listed in the contract, including details. If you forget to have something included in the contract after signing it, there's rarely a chance of recourse.
Ask the contractor for proof of their certification before signing anything, as well as their proof of insurance. You should also check your homeowners insurance policy to see if they offer coverage for contracted work. You may want to call your insurance provider and ask for more details on what your plan will and won't cover.
Yes. Plans for how the work site will be cleaned at the end of each day as well as at the conclusion of work need to be put in writing. An experienced general contractor should make every effort to keep the workspace clean and prevent dirtying or damaging any other area. Even so, talk with the contractor about the daily schedule, the logistics of transporting workers and equipment, and how cleanup will be handled.
