Drains Unlimited
I was referred to Bill at Drains Unlimited from a dear friend as I was struggling with a drain backup in my first home. As this was my first major complication as a home owner, I was in a full panic. I made the call immediately and was met with a shockingly prompt response. I was surprised to feel as though Bill was taking on my drain problem like it was his own. I received a free estimate that was the same as my final cost. The drain needed to be snaked and augured, and it wasn’t a pretty job. I have 2 very large trees in the front yard and the roots had grown well into the sewer pipe. Bill took the time to explain to me exactly what his process would be and upon completion, showed me with a camera snake where the problems were and what he had done to get the line flowing appropriately. I was impressed with his quick service and honest approach to his work. This can be a messy job and I was very thankful and how polite he was in going about his business and how clean it was when he left. There is an uncertainty in dealing with anyone servicing your home and whether or not you are getting just what you are paying for, and Bill took all this worry out of the equation and made me feel confident with the work he was providing. I appreciate his help immensely and will be using and referring Drains Unlimited for all my future plumbing issues. Thank You Bill.

I am a 65 yr old homeowner and a co-worker gave me Bill's business card which I took home and put it away for future reference. My co-worker highly recomended this guy after Bill had done an extemely huge drain job for her. Thanksgiving weekend, I discovered a running puddle in my basement. I'm so glad that I kept that business card. I met with Mr. William Trotter and he explained to me exactly why I had this problem. After meeting him and knowing my co-worker praises of him, he was hired! He took extreme care of my belongings by putting tarps around to protect them from the cement dust. He showed me the cracked drain and had me watch the monitor when they ran the camera threw my other drains. He was very professional and caring plus educated me. Trust me! I have hired some real let down contractors over the years. If I need anything done around my home, I'm calling Mr. Trotter first. Plumbing is not his only forte.

We had a clog in our kitchen sink and needed it to be snaked out. He was able to come right away to perform the service. He gave me a free estimate and it was incredibly reasonable compared to other companies that I spoke with. Work was fast and clean, even puts down white paper from door to the sink when bringing in equipment. Very personable and enjoyed conversations about growing up in Redford/Livonia. Knew some of the same people. Gave advice about keeping the pipes free of clogs. Even told us a problem that may happen in the future. A previous plumber attached plastic catch drains to our metal pipes, he said it may be a problem if we have to keep opening the pipe. It is nice to have advice but no pressure to have work done, just in case we notice some leaking.I would recommend using Bill in the future because I definitely will!

Bill saved my life! Okay, well not literally but he did save my sanity. I had a backup in my basement with all kids of black gooey water all over. When I called Drains Unlimited which I found in the internet because of all his great reviews. Bill came out within 30 minutes and snaked the drain out and I was back in business. He is very polite and down to earth, Very honest and took his time even though it was getting late, He also put off another job to come to mine since I had all that sludge coming up through the drain. eeewww. So thank you to the nice customer who was kind enough to wait until tomorrow to have her sink unclogged I really appreciate it. I am now having Bill back for more work next week. Thank you so much for coming right out. A huge relief to me

I had Back up in my basement bathroom for the past 3 days and I called the City of Dearborn they recommended Drains Unlimited LLC and called them Jerry answered and because they were busy he referred me to his brother Bill. After countless hours of calling every plumbing company in the city I got a hold of Bill I was shocked that he came within minutes of me calling him. He was very knowledge and told me the exact problem with my drain and sewage system unlike most plumbers who come and do not get anything done for me. He was honest with pricing and recommended everything I needed to get done. After a couple of minutes he unclogged my drains. I am very happy with this company and Bills work! So thank you Bill!

I had a basement sewer blockage, which is nasty to begin with. I called Bill on a Saturday which usually means more money for weekend rates. He told me that he would be out in an hour. To my surprise he was right on time as he said. He also gave me a price range over the phone so I would know how much it may cost. Bill and his assistant opened the clog and made sure it was running right before they left. They cleaned the area that was effected and even gave me some suggestions to keep it open in the future. Two years ago another company charged me three times the cost for the same problem. Drains Unlimited will be called upon for any other future plumbing problems. Go with Trotter and no other.

I just recently had a very rough holiday! I had a flood in my basement 2 days before Christmas! I found Bill online and I'm glad I called. He and his son came over on Christmas Eve of all days! They were fast and professional. Not only did he clear my sewer and drain but he also gave me helpful tips to prevent future problems. He also noticed that my washer tub was not draining properly and gave me a time that he could return to repair the issue. He and his son were very knowledgable and got the job done for us when we were in a pinch. I would definitely recommend Drains Unlimited to anyone that needs a great plumber!!!

Phenomenal work! : Bill had to replace our broken pipe that leads out to the sewer which involved breaking the cement around the pipe in the basement. My concern was the price and the mess; Bill gave me an estimate that I could afford, I could not believe how reasonable the price was for the work involved. After the repairs were completed my concern was the basement full of cement dust and I was wrong, my basement was cleaner than when the job started there was not dust or mess! I highly recommend Bill for your pluming needs as he is reasonable in pricing and the work is Phenomenal!

Bill is fantastic! I had a problem with water backing up through the floor drains in my basement whenever we flushed the toilet, washed dishes or did laundry. Bill came out quickly, snaked out the drain, and flushed the system out, everything is running smoothly now! Not knowing anything about drains, I relied on the yellow pages for help in finding a qualified person to handle the job, and with 30+ years of experience, I found it in Bill. He is extremely honest and very professional and I highly recommend him.

Drains Unlimited
My kitchen faucet wasn't working at all after my city had turned the water off and on repairing a main pipe down the street. I called Drains Unlimited because they were highly recommended by my daughter. Bill came out the next morning and fixed the faucet which had been plugged by debris. Their price was very reasonable and I will definitely call this company for any future plumbing problems.
Tips & Advices
The following tools and common household objects can be used to clean drains at home:
  • A plunger
  • A drain snake
  • Baking soda
  • Vinegar
  • Grease-fighting dish soap
Homeowners can mix boiling water with any of the last three products to break up grease and grime.
The main ingredients in clog removal liquid products are sodium hydroxide and sodium hypochlorite. According to the Agency for Toxic Substances and Disease Registry, both break down into relatively harmless components when it comes into contact with water or soil. However, both substances cause mild irritation to skin and internal tissues.
Also known as a drain auger, a drain snake is a coiled device around ¼-inch thick. To use a drain snake, put the end into the entrance of the drain. Turn the handle to force the snake deeper, using extra pressure to force it through the bend in the pipe. Keep turning until the snake hits the clog, then either pull the snake and remove the obstruction or force it through. Once the snake is out of the drain, run the water on full blast for a few minutes to ensure the obstruction is completely removed.
Plungers don't damage residential pipes, but the force created by the act of plunging weakens the seal between the toilet and the floor.
Many plumbers, both local businesses and nationwide chains, offer emergency or same-day services.
