Dr. Randy Machen is a wonderful dentist with an amazing staff! If you are looking for an AWESOME dentist, check out Little Rock Family Dental Care (501-954-9900). If you have always wanted beautiful, straight teeth in a short period of time you definitely need to check out the 6 Month Smile system (braces with tooth-colored brackets and wires) with Dr. Randy Machen! Making the decision to go to Dr. Machen and give his 6 Month Smile system a whirl is truly one of the best decisions that I've ever made. Dr. Machen is very thorough and has a laid back personality and a fun sense of humor. His dental assistants are fabulous as well! I feel like I'm going to hang out with friends every time I go there for an appointment. I have honestly never seen such a dedicated, hard-working group of individuals! I was really wanting to get my braces off before leaving on my vacation. Dr. Machen and his crew were happy to squeeze me in late in the afternoon on one occasion. Today they were working through their lunch break just to take my braces off and send me off on my vacation with a beautiful smile on my face! They do all of these things with smiles on their sweet faces and usually while singing a song or two as well. LOL. I think they were more excited than me to get my braces off so that they could see the end result! I would recommend Dr. Randy Machen and his crew to anyone! They certainly make going to the dentist a positive and fun experience! Be sure to check them out!

First of all I must say that im very pleased with this office and that anyone who attempts to smash talk this office is a pessimist. Im not saying that this office isnt capable of having a bad day but after my experience there I know that It is impossible to have a negative experience. They go out of their way to make you have a pleasant visit. They are so big but very organized. From the people who took my call to the checkout staff that helped make my payment arrangements for a root canal, the experience was by far the best dental one in my life. I no longer have to be afraid of going to the dentist. AND here's the kicker, the dentist was actually concerned about my dental care and not my pocket. I also looked them up and learned they have every thing a dental office can offer. They even offer IV sedation for those who desire to be put to sleep for services. You can have teeth whitening and they work with you. If you are like I used to be and deathly afraid of going, please stop wasting your time. They are GOOD!!!!!!

I needed some work done.. I seen reviews of koolsmiles and thought it was the place to go. They said they took adults too and to help me, ao I set up an appointment. I get there early like the lady told and filled out the paper work. The lady in the front was not very well kept.. She wore a filthy jacket and could smell the oil in her hair. Maybe she was just having a bad week... I had to wait in the waiting room for over an hour. And this is with hardly anyone there. They finally take me to the back and they sit me in another room for 30 more minutes. They were very unprofessional. Gossiping, playing around.when they finnaly came in they took a xray and said they couldn't help me until late march which is almost 3 months away. This would be OK if I hadn't had been in the er for the very reason I was there.so...I don't recommend this facility to an adult. For children this is just fine but an adult... Well might want to try a real dental clinic.

Bussell, Joe G, DDS
I am one of these people that has a dentist phobia. I've had insurance for years and didn't use it. Been to a few dentist but never went back. From the first time I walked into the door of Dr Bussell I felt completely at home. Everyone there was so warm and helpful. Then I met Dr Bussell who I couldn't ask for to be more compassionate, understanding and very willing to take as much time needed to answer any questions I had. I have a lot of work to be done ( because of my own neglect) and I think for the first time I will finally get my teeth fixed because of the trust and comfort I feel for this doctor. So far what he has done has been done with complete compassion and success. I have already recommended him to many and if anyone needs and/or needs to change dentist, I highly recommend Dr Bussell and his staff. Thank you for making going to the dentist not such a nightmare. Now I can finally smile again!

Gore, Richard L, DDS
Dental Health is so important, but what Dr. Gore gave me was so much more... My life! I went in to have work done, and when they took my blood pressure and pulse, Dr. Gore detected a problem. My Bp was ok, but my heart rate was very fast, and irregular. After having me sit for quite a while, my heart rate stayed above 160 even though my blood pressure was 120/82. Dr Gore sent me directly to the Heart Hospital. They found that I was in A-Fib and had a serious problem. The heart doctor said it was a good thing that I went to the dentist that day and that my dentist screened for those things. Dr. Gore basically saved my life. I did not feel badly, so if Dr. Gore had not screened me, the ending would have been much worse. He is awesome!!! As is his entire staff

I have been going to this dentist office since I was a kid. All of the dentists have been great and are extremely nice. The staff is beyond patient and friendly. I have recommended several friends and co-workers who have all had the best experiences they have ever had. All of the hygienists are very knowledgeable and willing to help. Any questions I have ever had for them, they have gone above and beyond. When I had my wisdom teeth extracted, they were very caring and made sure that I was taken care of without any pain. I've had cavities filled and they make sure to cover any areas that might be questionable. LOVE LOVE LOVE the hygienists. If you are looking for a great practice with a great staff. I would highly recommend this office.

By far the best dental office I have ever been to. No other office is available as much or as flexible. They close at 5, but are always on call. I went in on a holiday and they treated me with such kindness and a doctor came in to see me and get me out of pain. The staff is always so bubbly and nice. They are always so clean. Thesw bad reviews are soo surprising. This office helps anyone and everyone at all times. They have a financing department. Who lets you know your patient responsibility before your apt!!! They are the biggest office in the state of arkansas. Hands down the best up to date equipment and technology to help you!!. I love this office and would recommend it a million times to anyone and everyone I know.

Best dental office in Central Arkansas! I had an emergency on a Friday, which no other dental offices are open, and the friendly and professional staff were able to get me in the same day. I was pleased to know that I didn't need to leave the office for the services I needed! They have every dental specialist in house! They thoroughly explained my case, allowed me to view my x-rays and gave me multiple options to fix my problems. Not to mention, I was able to consult with their financial department which explained exactly what my dental insurance cover! I was so impressed with Little Rock Family Dental that I plan on switching my entire family over to this office!

We have 4 children, ages 11, 3, and 2 year old twins. I was already pleased that they were able to schedule them all together and on a Saturday. Being the first visit for my younger ones and a new dentist for my oldest I was nervous. From the moment we entered the door we were greeted with smiles! The service was great and the staff was so friendly. One of our twins became frightened and the staff went above and beyond to make him comfortable. Taneesha was amazingly gentle which is what our babies needed. I truly believe the staff and Dr. Sullivan made this experience great and our family looks forward to future visits! Thank you Kool Smiles!!
Tips & Advices
  • If a tooth decays and the nerves or pulp (soft internal tissue which helps teeth develop) become inflamed or infected
  • If a tooth is cracked or broken and nerves are exposed
This generally depends on any specific issues you wish to address with your teeth. There are toothpastes designed to whiten teeth, fight cavities, decrease sensitivity, prevent bad breath, resist gingivitis, and those specific to children (with lower fluoride content). There are also toothpastes that offer “complete” protection by combining aspects of many of the above toothpastes.
It’s recommended to get a professional cleaning at least two times per year.
  • Desensitizing toothpaste numbs the nerves in the teeth that can cause discomfort.
  • Mouth guard can protect against grinding teeth during sleep.
  • Fluoride treatment can be applied by dentists to sensitive areas to numb teeth and strengthen enamel.
  • Root canal can treat problems in a tooth’s core.
  • Surgical gum graft where a piece of gum tissue is removed from a section of the mouth to cover an exposed root.
Not everyone needs to have their wisdom teeth removed, but there are certain signs that can help you and your doctor determine if yours should be:
  • Wisdom teeth are pushing other teeth around, causing pain and misalignment
  • Cysts form around newly emerged wisdom teeth, causing jaw damage
  • Gums get inflamed and swollen, causing cavities and pain
  • Doctor determine from x-rays that wisdom teeth will cause problems in the near future

Just a moment...
