I don't give reviews often, but felt the need to share our excellent experience. Our home was flooded in heavy rain storms in late April. My wife was 6 months pregnant with our first child and we were in urgent need of a quick remodel and all new floors. We were referred to TIG by a friend. Thiago and Sarah came by immediately to introduce themselves and take measurements. They were both extremely friendly and went out of their way to comfort us after the disaster. Sarah offered to give us children's books for our new nursery! Thiago was very helpful throughout the process. I had a ton of dumb questions that Thiago patiently and thoughtfully answered as we were picking out floors. We ended up going with a Shaw luxury vinyl plank for most of the home and Shaw carpet for the bedrooms. We love our new floors and appreciate the eye that TIG had for quality, even in the small details. We had a lot of teams in our home working on various aspects of the restoration. TIG's crew was by far the most friendly and respectful. Thiago is definitely a man of character and it was refreshing to be able to trust him to get the job done well. We'll be recommending them to anyone we meet who has flooring needs.

I have used TIG flooring for two jobs in my home. First they took up my carpet and put down bamboo hardwood that they recommended. I picked it out from Lumber Liquidators and they delivered and put down. Thiago, the owner is so helpful and genuine I got a quote from Lowe's for a similar product and it was $2,000 more. I liked them so much that I had them come back and take up the tile to match the hardwood. They did so, and had to pull up many boards to blend in the two areas. They could have said no and placed transitional molding but they were very accommodating. I highly recommend them! His crew is very professional. They even cleaned off my kitchen cabinets and counter top. Thiago will save you money.

I'm so glad our friends referred us to TIG flooring. TIG gave us the most affordable quote and they really delivered. I absolutely love my new floors!!! A lot of details and planning had to go into our job. Thiago and the entire TIG staff were very professional, thorough and courteous. I would recommend TIG flooring to anyone who really values (1) quality and (2) exceptional customer service at an affordable price. Oh...I love how the wood sits under my fireplace instead of stopping in front of it. The details really make the difference. Thanks TIG. My floors are gorgeous!!!

Thiago and crew did an awesome job installing laminate flooring in our home. It was a big job and they finished before I expected they would. Everything was nice and clean when they finished and I couldn't find one thing in the final walk through. I was very appreciative of the way Thiago took care of problem that came up during the job with great professionalism. The floors look PERFECT! I would definitely use them again and recommend them to others.

Kelch Floor Contracting
In getting our house ready to put on the market one of the many things we had to do was to remove big scratches in the hardwood floors. Shawn Kelch did an outstanding job! He's reasonable, professional, and is a very hard worker. Our floors look beautiful!
Tips & Advices
In most states, contractors are required to have a license before taking a job. Some states also require registration. To be licensed, contractors must pass an exam and meet certain qualifications that prove he or she is a competent flooring contractor. Registration is simply a list of who will be performing a job.
The time it takes to install flooring depends on the type of flooring and the size of the room or rooms involved in the project. In one day, a typical contractor can usually install up to 2,000 square feet of carpet, 600 square feet of hardwood or laminate, or 400 square feet of tile or stone.
  • Do you have a professional license, insurance, and a business liability policy?
  • Who will work on the project?
  • Do you subcontract, and do you screen workers and have insurance policies to cover them?
  • Do you have references or examples of your work I can see?
  • Do you charge for an in-home estimate?
  • What type of flooring is best for my home in terms of architectural consistency, environmental influences (such as whether a certain type of flooring will be affected by humidity in my area), and durability?
Legally, insurance is not necessary, but it's a good idea for flooring contractors to have it. When hiring a flooring contractor, ask whether the business is insured. If it's not, consider that a red flag.
A flooring contractor should know the pros and cons of each flooring option. These might include pricing, time of installation, durability, and average lifespan of the material.

Just a moment...
