Infinite Endodontics
I had an abases tooth over the weekend. When I saw my dentist Monday morning he said I needed a specialist to do a root canal, and his guy couldn't do it till Thursday. He called around to see if anyone could do it sooner. Infinite said they could do it right away. After an hour filling out paperwork and getting some X-rays taken (which they could have easily gotten from my dentist) they told me they wouldn't have time to do it until the following MONDAY! If that was the case why didn't they just say that over the phone?!? Then I got my answer in the form of a large bill... Turns out the insurance companies HAVE to pay for any services rendered, even if they were done under false pretenses. When I called to complain they offered to waive the $25 they were billing me directly , but they sure as hell weren't going to refund the hundreds of dollars the received from my insurance. Nice ethics there, Infinity.
Tips & Advices
During a root canal therapy session, an endodontist removes inflamed or infected dental pulp, cleans the inside of the tooth, then fills the area with a rubber-like substance.
Patients who have not been sedated are usually fine to drive after a root canal procedure. Still, they should check with their endodontist just to be safe. Patients that have been sedated should have a friend or family member pick them up.
Endodontic therapy is the treatment of inflamed or infected soft tissue inside the tooth known as the pulp.
No, patients do not need a referral to see an endodontist.
Root canal costs vary depending on the number of roots the tooth has. A procedure on the front row, where teeth usually have only one root, costs around $700 per tooth. A procedure on the molars, which can have up to three roots, costs around $900.
