Blue Ox Tree Service
I needed limbs removed from a large pine in my front yard. I called Blue Ox to get an estimate. They came out the same day and I had the estimate. Within two days they came out with a two man crew (both great guys) and used a cherry picker and saws to have the job finished in 20 minutes. I would never consider using another arborist to maintain the trees in my yard. Blue Ox is the best bar none.

Blue Ox Tree Service
We needed to call Blue Ox again. This time to do tree trimming versus the tree removal we had done previously. Once again, we've been blown away by their quick response and fast effiicient service. Eddie and crew are a delight to work with. The cost is extremely reasonable Eddie walks you through several senarios to best fit your budget and desires. Once again, we are extremely happy to recomend the Blue OX crew and owner, Eddie.

Mike trimmed the trees in my parents' yard on a few occasions. By all accounts, he did a good job. However, a few months ago, my dad called to set up another appointment. He called several times and left messages with the answering service each time. Unfortunately, Mike did not return his call. My dad is 89 years old. He is a loyal man and wanted to continue to support Mike's business. He finally came to realize that Mike had no such code. Mike, show some professionalism and respect. Return calls, if not to new customers, then at least to those who have supported you in the past. If you don't need or want the job, just say so.

Blue Ox Tree Service
Really, Blue Ox is the ONLY place I'll use from now on. It's hard to find a contractor when you know little about the work that needs to be done. Eddy and his team were fair, honest, and maximized the time they had in the yard. I gave them a budget and they hit it exactly. It was fun to watch them work and give them feedback as they went. I care a lot about my yard, especially my trees, and they took great care of everything.

Blue Ox Tree Service
Eddie called and scheduled an appointment with me right away after I submitted a quote request. During the walk through we discussed the best options for which branches and trees to remove for my project. I was working with a tight timeline for the removal and Eddie fit me in quickly. Four workers showed up on the day of the removal. They worked effectively and efficiently, yet they were very personable. I would hire them again and suggest them to anyone needing tree service.

Dr Co-pay and visit - $50Tree Sap Allergy and Cream - $90Blue Ox Tree Service Removal of the culprit trees - Priceless!!Blue Ox has the remedy for all your pesky tree removal needs. I discovered I was allergic to tree sap and our truck discovered that you can't just scrape tree sap off without a few deep scrapes too. So we called Blue Ox. They removed 4 annoying pine trees and trimmed a couple more. They were on time, hard working, funny as all get out, very friendly and professional! Plus pretty daring. Eddie is a very honest and sincere business man and goes out of his way to do things right. However - a squirrel removal company they are not. I still have the 5 squirrel condos in my tree. Next time they won't get out of the bucket truck until every last squirrel has moved to the neighbors yard.
Tips & Advices
Do your due diligence and always ask for proof of insurance and certification before agreeing to any work. You will also want to be on the lookout for telltale signs of scams and be cautious of any company that:
  • Will not provide you with a certificate of their insurance policy or only has general liability coverage
  • Declines to give you a written estimate for the job
  • Gives you bids that either seem very low or very high
  • Contacted you out of the blue to see if you needed their services
  • Has complaints against it from business bureaus in your area
  • Asks for payment before starting work
  • Doesn't have a fixed physical address
Tree service companies are also great places to get your wood if you happen to have a fireplace. Many tree businesses offer free delivery and stacking of hardwoods, such as maple or birch. These can make for the best firewood because they burn slowly and don't produce as much smoke as other types.
If you want to add to the greenery in your yard but you're concerned about the right species to plant or where to put it on your property, seek the advice of an arborist.
If a storm hits and damages your residence, a tree service professional is usually on your list of people to call for help after first responders and your insurer. A professional service can completely remove a tree or just prune and saw off its branches if a storm damages a tree. After sawing or destroying the tree, professionals can then remove any of the dangerous debris from your yard by hauling it off.
Some bugs burrow through the bark and damage hardwood and softwood trees. Depending on the species of trees in your yard and the region of the country you live in, aphids, the infamous emerald ash borer or other pests could destroy your healthy trees.
