Blue Ox Tree Service
I called Blue Ox they took all my information and was told that they would get that information to their office.    I was surprised when Eddy called me about 45 minutes later to tell me that he would be over in the afternoon.  I was not expecting to get it done in the same day that I called. When Eddy showed up he came to the door and introduced himself.  We walked to the area that needed work and I explained what I needed done.  Eddy quoted me the price .  As he was beginning to get started he explained that he was going to get over the lip of the garden and that he was worried it could split the wood edging.  I told him that it was okay. It made me happy that he checked with me and showed care with the edge of the garden.  It took him about 30 minutes to take care of the stump and he cleaned up the area when he was finished.  I was so happy with the work that I will call Blue Ox for other jobs that need to be done in our yard.

Dr Co-pay and visit - $50Tree Sap Allergy and Cream - $90Blue Ox Tree Service Removal of the culprit trees - Priceless!!Blue Ox has the remedy for all your pesky tree removal needs. I discovered I was allergic to tree sap and our truck discovered that you can't just scrape tree sap off without a few deep scrapes too. So we called Blue Ox. They removed 4 annoying pine trees and trimmed a couple more. They were on time, hard working, funny as all get out, very friendly and professional! Plus pretty daring. Eddie is a very honest and sincere business man and goes out of his way to do things right. However - a squirrel removal company they are not. I still have the 5 squirrel condos in my tree. Next time they won't get out of the bucket truck until every last squirrel has moved to the neighbors yard.

Blue Ox Tree Service
Eddie and Blue Ox did a fantastic job trimming my trees around my house and power lines. They really removed quite a bit of tree branches, using their specialized equipment. They did this in a very safe manner, and minimized any risk to my property. In addition, they did a really good job cleaning up the tree branches they had cut in addition to existing dead branches that had fallen in the previous windstorm. They hauled it all away, leaving my house looking beautiful. And they offered to do this at a very reasonable price. So due to their courtesy and initiative, I can relax, knowing my house is safe from falling tree branches for at least the next two years. Arnold R. Lincoln, NE. 4/12/2016

Blue Ox Tree Service
We had Eddie (owner) out to get an estimate on our trees last week. Eddie arrived promptly, when he stated he would. He quickly got a good understanding of what I was hoping to do with my tree removal. Instead of just giving me a quick estimate and leaving, he talked me through how they would do it. I found his price to be not only the best, but he was the most professional of any of the vendors who gave me a quote. I accepted his proposal and to my delight, Eddie and his crew arrived the very next day and removed both my trees in a timely manor. Blue Ox has been very easy to work with and I would highly recommend them to anyone looking for tree removal/stump grinding in the Lincoln area.

Blue Ox Tree Service
Blue Ox provided great customer service! I emailed for a consultation on a Thursday afternoon and had a visit and an estimate Friday morning. A very reasonable price and was able to come back that same day to do the work. I had 1 stump and 6 large root clusters ground down within 45 minutes. I had never seen this work performed and was pleasantly surprised to see that it essentially tills the surrounding area. Now I can plant my flower beds with much less effort!! Thank you to Eddie at Blue Ox for making this process easy and stress free! Would recommend this business for any tree trimming/removal needs!!

Blue Ox Tree Service
Eddie called and scheduled an appointment with me right away after I submitted a quote request. During the walk through we discussed the best options for which branches and trees to remove for my project. I was working with a tight timeline for the removal and Eddie fit me in quickly. Four workers showed up on the day of the removal. They worked effectively and efficiently, yet they were very personable. I would hire them again and suggest them to anyone needing tree service.

Blue Ox Tree Service
I called Blue Ox Tuesday and Ed came out the same day to look at our tree. He gave us a quote right away and said they could do the job within the next few days. The crew arrived on Friday and did an excellent job on the tree removal. They were fast, friendly and did a nice job cleaning up. Ed came back out on Sunday and did the stump removal. We were pleased with the price and exceptional service. We would highly recommend Blue Ox to everyone.

We needed to call Blue Ox again. This time to do tree trimming versus the tree removal we had done previously. Once again, we've been blown away by their quick response and fast effiicient service. Eddie and crew are a delight to work with. The cost is extremely reasonable Eddie walks you through several senarios to best fit your budget and desires. Once again, we are extremely happy to recomend the Blue OX crew and owner, Eddie.

Really, Blue Ox is the ONLY place I'll use from now on. It's hard to find a contractor when you know little about the work that needs to be done. Eddy and his team were fair, honest, and maximized the time they had in the yard. I gave them a budget and they hit it exactly. It was fun to watch them work and give them feedback as they went. I care a lot about my yard, especially my trees, and they took great care of everything.

Lincoln Tree Service Inc
Customer service not big with this company. Had no input in to how trees were trimmed. Estimate left in door even though I was home at time it was done. Workers arrived in yard without notification about a month after estimate was accepted. Sent letter saying we were not happy with how some of the trees were trimmed but got no response. Company does not apparently care about customer being happy.
Tips & Advices
Do your due diligence and always ask for proof of insurance and certification before agreeing to any work. You will also want to be on the lookout for telltale signs of scams and be cautious of any company that:
  • Will not provide you with a certificate of their insurance policy or only has general liability coverage
  • Declines to give you a written estimate for the job
  • Gives you bids that either seem very low or very high
  • Contacted you out of the blue to see if you needed their services
  • Has complaints against it from business bureaus in your area
  • Asks for payment before starting work
  • Doesn't have a fixed physical address
Tree service companies are also great places to get your wood if you happen to have a fireplace. Many tree businesses offer free delivery and stacking of hardwoods, such as maple or birch. These can make for the best firewood because they burn slowly and don't produce as much smoke as other types.
If you want to add to the greenery in your yard but you're concerned about the right species to plant or where to put it on your property, seek the advice of an arborist.
If a storm hits and damages your residence, a tree service professional is usually on your list of people to call for help after first responders and your insurer. A professional service can completely remove a tree or just prune and saw off its branches if a storm damages a tree. After sawing or destroying the tree, professionals can then remove any of the dangerous debris from your yard by hauling it off.
Some bugs burrow through the bark and damage hardwood and softwood trees. Depending on the species of trees in your yard and the region of the country you live in, aphids, the infamous emerald ash borer or other pests could destroy your healthy trees.
