I normally do not review businesses online but I feel that others should be warned. This was my first time renting a storage unit and I am hoping that others can read my story and make their own judgments before using Sedgwick. My wife of six months and I were recently robbed from our storage unit at the Public Storage. Roughly, $3,000 worth of items was stolen from the unit. However, the sentimental value of the items far exceeds the monetary value. Among the items stolen were my wife's wedding dress, half of our clothes, childhood possessions, photos, and my undergraduate and law degrees. Public Storage and our insurance company, Sedgwick Storage Insurance, refuse to compensate us or help relocate our property.On August 24, 2016, my friend and I arrived at Public Storage with our possessions. When we arrived, the manager told me that Public Storage does not allow combination locks and that a key lock is required. Furthermore, the manager told me that I was required to have insurance. I told her that the email made no reference about insurance and that the email did not even have an asterisk signifying that insurance costs would apply. Because of Public Storage's misrepresentations, we were not given the opportunity to research other insurance companies which offered more protection, which is why we chose Sedgwick Storage Insurance offered by Public Storage.On December 30, 2016, my wife, friend, and I came to move our possessions out of our unit and discovered that several boxes and suit cases were missing in the front of the unit. The lock on the unit was intact.I called the La Habra Police Department and made a police report. I reported the incident to the Public Storage office and was told that the facility did not have cameras in the front of our building and that the only cameras were in the back. I explained the situation and the employee told me that my lock “must have been picked.” Sedgwick contacted me on January 3, 2017 and asked me the details from the robbery. Within ninety seconds, Ms. Chisholm told me that I was not covered. She made this determination because the lock or the door did not show “forcible entry” to be covered. She told me that I signed the contract which requires forcible entry. Ms. Chisholm did not review any camera footage from Public Storage to see if someone was on camera stealing our possessions.

Dawn Stice - State Farm Insurance Agent
I've been a State Farm customer for some time. Today, I called my agent, Dawn Stice, with a billing issue. She obviously had zero interest in assisting me. She was incredibly rude and made sure that I knew that my business wasn't important to her. I told her I was shocked by her rudeness and she quickly told me that there were 22 other agents in town...that I should go find one. If this is how State Farm agents regard their clients then I'm not sure I want to be one. Additionally, I've worked with her support staff prior to this and was always very pleased. The agent herself was incredibly rude.

Honestly I don't feel that AAA even deserves a single star... I will NEVER make the huge mistake of giving you my money again... I (The customer) pay you for your crappy insurance every month for a reason.. I wasnt making donations.. & when I needed you to stand by what your say.. You didn't... AAA doesn't care or understand the value of a customer they only care about $$$ Thank you for being such a great disappointment.

There are many different providers and plan types, so  shopping for life insurance can be complicated. The first step involves understanding the type and amount of life insurance you need. From there, use online tools or contact local insurance agents to get quotes on rates and learn about how to apply.
The cost of a life insurance policy is determined by two things: the guaranteed benefit amount and the individual risk of the policyholder. The latter is more complicated, and includes many  factors, including health, age, and  occupation. As of May 2017, a 30-year-old woman purchasing a 20-year, $250,000 term life policy can expect to pay about $141 per year. For comparison, a 60-year-old woman purchasing the same policy can expect to pay $1,033 per year. Since women have longer life expectancy on average than men, the latter can expect to pay slightly more. The same 20-year, $250,000 term policy will cost a 30-year-old man $156 per year on average.
Certain specialized policies may provide income replacement in the event of disability, disease, or another situation where it may be impossible to work and medical expenses are high. One common alternative is known as an “accidental death and dismemberment” policy. AD&D policies work similarly to term life plans, but will only pay out death benefits when a fatality is caused by an accident, or if the policyholder loses a limb or the ability to see or hear. Death from a heart attack or cancer, for example, is usually not covered by AD&D, but these policies might offer lower premiums than a standard term plan.
Many adults with children choose to buy a term life plan that covers them from the birth of a child until they turn 18, which is often the most cost-effective way to insure against the risk of income loss from unexpected death. While it  is possible to save enough cash or invest to provide even more funds in case of such an emergency, investing is subject to more risk of loss than a life insurance plan, and accumulating enough savings to provide a sizeable safety net can be difficult.
Whole life and universal life plans are each considered a type of “permanent life insurance.” Universal life is often similar in concept to whole life, but offers more flexibility in premium payments and cash withdrawals. For example, you might be able to temporarily pause or reduce premium payments at any time under a universal policy. It’s also often possible to borrow from what you’ve already paid into the plan or against a guaranteed death benefit in the form of a loan.
