Crowe's Master Tech Auto Repair
The review by Rachel B. is very inaccurate. Her father, Frank Boyer claims to have paid $500 in cash but didnt get a payment receipt? He also signed a check receipt for $1100. He then proceeded to stop payment on the check without notice. When we finally were able to contact him and he made this claim we apologized for a POSSIBLE mistake (remember that he had NO receipt for a cash payment) and we agreed to credit the supposed $500 cash payment to the bill and accept a final payment of $600. We NEVER heard back from Frank Boyer regarding that final payment even after several attempts to contact him in spite of his guarantee that he would be in the following day. As the owner of the business I can personally attest to the FACT that Frank Boyer did not live up to his word to contact me directly and make that payment. As far as the 2 weeks later statement I can only say we certainly did not see Frank Boyer or his 95 ford pick up anytime since he swindled us for the entire repair bill.

South Broadway Collision Center
Words cannot express how pleased we are with South Broadway Collision. Unfortunately while my daughter was at school at UK, she was hit on two different occasions. We are so grateful to have found South Broadway Collision - not only is the workmanship EXCELLENT, but their Customer Service is OUTSTANDING. They truly go above and beyond to insure the quality of their work and the complete satisfaction of their customer. They are knowledgeable, respectful and so incredibly pleasant to work with. Just don't find businesses with this kind of effort these days. Thank you to Joe and everyone there for all you have done on both occasions to make our experience much less painful and we have very much enjoyed working with you. We are SO THANKFUL.

Doc Ferrell's Car Care
These are the good ole guys you wish you'd found a long time ago. I've always ended up with a much lower bill and better work here than I would have gotten at the stealership or any other repair shop. I've always just dropped the car off and let them do their thing, I dont bother them with constant updates or act like I know more than them and I always have the same outcome; great work at a fair price. They never do anything without asking though they will make sure your car is safe and will bring any possible problems (other than what you brought it in for) to your attention just so you know it may need fixing in the future. I like this place a lot and always recommend it to friends looking for repairs.

Doc Ferrell's Car Care
Don't waste your time and money by taking your car to any other place. I've tried a lot of different repair shops and every time they either fail to properly diagnose the issue, charge me a ridiculous price, or mess something else up. Donnie, the manager at Ferrel's Car Care, knows everything there is to know about cars. Any time I take my car there I know they're going to give me a fair price and that they're going to completely solve whatever problem I'm having. There have been a few times where I just took my car there for a diagnosis and I wasn't even charged, which is unlike a lot of other places in town that want $100 dollars just to tell you what's wrong with your car.

Kool Breeze AC & Auto Repair
This place is AWESOME. Our daughter's AC went out on her 6hr drive home. We got an estimate locally and it was over $1300. She said she was certain that Mike could do the work for a lot less and he did. Saved us almost half. He could have easily taken advantage of her and the situation she was in but he didn't. From here on out Kool Breeze will be her first stop when she is in need of mechanical repairs and we will recommend to anyone looking for an honest repair shop. Thanks Mike!

Covey'S Automotive Service
You would have a hard time finding a more genuine and honest repair shop anywhere. Covey's took the time to talk to me about the issues Iwas having , they did not talk down to me like most shops do to women and their diagnosis was spot on for the repair. I recieved an estimate from Schellers Auto and Covey"s beat their $800 estimate by $225. I would recommend Covey's to everyone I know. Thank you Covey's its nice to know there actually is an honest repair shop in Lexington.

Sam's Towing and Auto Repair
I called around Paris & Cynthiana for towing services and was shocked by how much they were wanting to charge me! I called Sam's Towing because they were close to the place where my son's car needed to be towed to.. They drove from Lexington to Paris and dropped off the car for almost HALF the price. I was VERY satisfied with the drivers professionalism and his very friendly attitude. I WILL be calling them again should I ever need their services again.

Powell Automotive
Powell Automotive took on a challenge and could have quit and left me with a car repair that no one would touch. They did all they could, went above and beyond, were honest from the start and even though they lost money on the job, gave me back a working car at the price originally quoted!! Plus I gained some new friends. Highly recommend Morgan, David, and Deedee. They figured it out even when the dealership dropped the ball. BTW.. Freedom Chrysler sucks.

Protech Auto
I am extremely pleased with the service from Pro Tech Auto, I have had many problems with my car and each time Pro Tech Auto has done a perfect job on the repairs. Each time they made sure to talk to me and explain in laments terms what was going on with my car and what needed to be done to get it up and running again. Their prices are always the most competitive and I end up saving money by choosing them to work on my car.

Abe's Foreign Car Repair Service
If you are looking for automobile repairs compelted with quality at a fair cost, you will go to the right place by stopping in to consult with Abe Martha at Abe's Foreign Auto Repair. I literally drive past dozens of car repair shops because I trust Abe to provide a positive customer experience. Next time you need a consultation on your vehicle reapair, stop by Abe's - you will not need to go any further.
Tips & Advices
Among the common scams pulled are needless repairs, where a garage charges you for work that isn't necessary. Another popular one is attracting customers through a cheap oil change or tire pressure check. Then, when you your car is being repaired, they give you a long list of other corrections they'd like to make, therefore boosting the total cost of your bill. The best way to combat these types of problems is getting a written estimate before work is done so you can see how much repairs are expected to cost. If the final bill is higher than the estimate projected, ask to specifically see the work. Make sure information is put in writing as well. If a problem remains, you can have proof that work was not done to your satisfaction.
For winter driving, features such as the defroster, heater and exhaust system are paramount. Look in your owner's manual for specific directions on how features should be checked and repaired. Many newer cars have a cabin air filter that can be replaced when needed, allowing warm air to continue to flow in. Also, check tires before winter driving, as they need to be at the proper pressure to perform well on snow and ice.
In the spring and summer, you want to be sure your air conditioner and cooling systems work correctly. Given the high temperatures, overheating is a common problem. Look over the system by ensuring there is enough coolant available. If it needs to be refilled, it is best to open the hood and add more to the car before it gets too warm out. Also, clean out fan ducts and other ventilation sources necessary for summertime driving.
Some fixes to your car can be done without paying a specialist. Issues like replacing oil and air filters are relatively simple, with instructions provided in the owner's manual on how to make these changes. The same goes for replacing broken windshield wipers or burnt-out headlights. Such issues should be repaired quickly to guarantee safety, but don't require a visit to a garage.
Yes. Not every type of auto repair work needs to be done by a certified mechanic. You can fix some of a vehicle's issues just by paying attention to how the automobile is running and having a basic understanding of auto repair. Look over the ways weather may impact your car and what preventative measures you can take to avoid having to take it into the shop.
