Critter Control
I have heard noises in my attic. called and found it would be a month before they could come. have resorted to sleeping in car. Then got voice mail that they were cancelling my appointment with no explanation. have used them before and made prompt payment. not sure what I did.

All-Rite Pest Control Inc
Not impressed. Called this company because of ants in our kitchen back in January of this year. They came out to spray and assured us that this would not only take care of the ant problem, but any other bugs we had as well. A month later and we were still seeing ants, millipedes, and pill bugs around the house (granted most were dead, but still had what I consider a large amount) and a month after that were treated to a mouse in our laundry room (which was something we had said we wanted preventative coverage against on our first meeting). They come back out and again assure us that their product will keep all forms of pests away. Not even two weeks later I wake up to a mouse in the living room and his friend in the hall closet. And we STILL had ants in the kitchen. We call again and are told they will come out at 10:30 the next morning. My husband takes off work only to be called on the day they were supposed to come to be told they will be there at 3:30 because the appointment was put into the computer as an "earliest convenience" appointment rather than an actual time. When they finally show up, they lay down traps, offer no explanation of where the mice came from or what we can do to keep them out in the future, and say "well let the spray keep working" when asked about the ants. I did more with 20 bucks worth of D-Con and ant traps in 2 days than these guys did with over double that amount we paid for a bi-monthly service.

Critter Control
I'm surprised to find Critter Control included on an animal no-kill list. When squirrels had chewed their way into my house, I interviewed them to help me deal with the problem. My primary question to everyone I talked to was, "Do you destroy the animals you capture?" The representative from Critter Control assured me that the squirrels would not be destroyed and stated that they had somewhere safe to take them. Later, I reccommentded them to a friend with a similar problem. The individual who did the actual animal capture told her that Critter Control does, in fact, destroy the animals. He went on to say that sometimes a co-worker took the corpses to his father who used them as fertilizer. I don't know if that last part is true, but when I confronted Critter Control, they denied telling me that the animals would be relocated. When I insisted that their salesman had assured me the animals would be relocated, I was informed that they were legally required to destroy the animals they caught and questioned my recollection of the discussion. So, buyer beware! I am positive I was told the animals would be relocated because it was my main concern, and I specifically asked the question of everyone I interviewed. If Critter Control tells you they do not destroy the animals they capture, I reccommend you not believe them. My personal experience and that of my friend is that they do destroy them.
Tips & Advices
Ask your pest control company about no-kill traps you can use if you want to get mice, rabbits, opossums or other furry creatures out of your house without harming them.
Many pest control experts now offer environmentally friendly treatment for your home and yard with insecticides that aren't as harsh for the ecosystem. Check with exterminators around your area to see if they provide these kinds of services. Also, keep your plants free from harmful chemicals by spraying cedar oil or soapy water on your flowers.
  • Dispose of garbage regularly.
  • Don't ┬áleaving food or drink out.
  • Clean up after spills as soon as you can.
  • Drain any standing water in your house or yard.
  • Regularly mow and rake your lawn.
If you find insects and other animals trying to get in through cracks or openings, use a caulk gun to fill the gaps. You'll also want to either use traditional bug spray or a citronella candle to keep bugs such as mosquitos away from you during the summer months.
The price for exterminators can range broadly since they can charge for a monthly inspection and treatment. The final bill also comes down to the square footage of your property.
When pest control technicians visit your home or place of business, expect them to first identify what insect or other animal it is that's causing trouble. After identification, they will inspect your building to see where the pests are coming from and locate their hive or nest. Then the exterminator will spray or set out traps and bait according to which pest you have.
