Leesburg Diner
We ate there with our daughter before she took us to Dulles Airport on the 16th of June to go back home from our visit. The food was great. My wife and I had Reubens. Absolutely great, I've never had a better Reuben. But what was greater was the sense of customer service and a sense of duty beyond the call by their staff. Chef Amy was the lady with whom I spoke when I realized I'd left my pet US Air Force KC-135 baseball cap on a hat rack. It was a special gift from my wife on a special occasion. I asked Chef Amy to hold on to it for me and wait for the US Postal Service Priority Mail envelope I'd send her in one just like it. I sent it on 1 JULY 15 and on 6 JULY 15, I received my pet US Air Force KC-135 baseball cap back. I am an Air Force veteran whose squadron trained crews to fly the granddaddy to the KC-135, the old KC-97s at Randolph Air Force Base in Texas in the 1950s.To me that's a darned nice thing to do, to hold on to a guy's ball cap and then pack it up and send it to him when you are a busy lady cooking up good vittles for good folks back in Virginia. When you have good restauranteurs who cook a good meal, no wonder that restaurant has been around in one form or another since the 1860s according to an article by the Loudon Times {tinyurl.com/p22kbne } Thanks staff and especially Chef Amy from an old guy in Mesa, Arizona.

Tuscarora Mill
I found Tuskies back in 94 when visiting Leesburg. Moved there in 95 and was a regular there till I moved to FL in 04'. I suggest leave kids with sitter and enjoy this place! AWSOME chef, wait staff and bartenders Jerry, Ed & Dave. Owner Kevin had a real gem here! 5 DIAMONDS, not stars! about 21 fantastic beers on tap, many micro brews. AWSOME menu, Tavern menu too for the lighter fare. Fresh flowers & linens on tables in back for formal dining, casual bistro style dining on the bar side. Tuskies is in an old restored historic grain mill in heart on town. Awsome rack of lamb & wine selection. Tuskies is a MUST go to place!

Just a moment...
