Westside 66 And Carwash
I recently had a problem with my 2006 Hyundai Sonata. The 2005-2007 models had a recall on the "Stop Lamp Switch", and I got an error code (via O'Reilly Auto Parts) that corresponded to that same problem. Rich and the guys at Westside 66 have been taking care of my parents cars and my cars for over a decade now, but since this was part of a recall, I took my car to the Hyundai dealership here in town. Turns out that part had already been replaced in 2010 and was no longer under the free replacement policy. Since I was already at the dealership I had them replace the part to get me on my way.The next day the check engine light came back on and my cruise control stopped working. I called the dealership and they told me they would take a look at it. For $105 an hour. Even though they already missed what it was the last time I went there.I called Westside 66 to see if Rich had any sage advice and he told me to come in so he could take a look at it. I came in, the SAME day, he looked at the code, and within 15 minutes figured out that the problem was a shorted tail light bulb. He replaced the bulb and had me on my way in no time. When I asked him what I owed him, he said "you can have the bulb, I like little challenges like these". If you're new to town and are looking for a mechanic's shop that doesn't pull your leg with unnecessary repairs and the like, this is the shop you have been looking for. You just don't see service like this anymore.

Come N Go
This is the best gas station in all of Lawrence. No matter how bad your day is you will be guaranteed to leave with a smile. The employees are kind and funny, always willing to work a good deal for you, accept all coupons, offer to help with anything you need, just all around good guys. While the store may not be as fancy as the big corporate gas stations that surround it, it does offer a variety of merchandise comparable with the big chains. If there is something they do not carry all you have to do is mention you would like it and odds are it will be there on your return visit. As a bonus if you are in the mood to go fishing they have a mini bait shop offering worms, minnows, gold fish, and supplies. My personal favorite is that the soda fountain is not watered down like most places so I can get my daily Pepsi fix lol!

My sister lives here and I was visiting during the snow storm of Cmas 2009.I had something leaking from my car after the ice/snow. My sister told me to go here. They gave me 5 star service and looked everything over and even offered to have me park my car inside their garage to thaw out. NEVER have I been to a service station where they are so helpful and friendly. WOW! Wish I could move this place to Texas! Thanks to Richard and everyone else at Phillips 66. .

Rich has been fixing my cars for years. He stands behind the work. the staff is quick and friendly. The repairs are done on time and at a fair cost. I have never had any problems with the work done. He just warranty replaced a starter for my truck. The starter was a bad part, the work was great and quick. I will continue to give Rich my repair work.

Clinton Store
Great little place to drop in on. The sodas are cold, the pizza is hot and they have most anything you need, without having to drive all that way into town.

I needed to have a tire fixed, they had it in and out in no time. Very friendly and big military supporters. I would absolutely recommend them!
Tips & Advices
Driver can find the cheapest gas prices by using an app to search for the lowest prices in their area.  Some apps such as Gas Guru take note of your location, and provide a list of gas stations nearby, along with the cost of gas currently being sold at each station.
There are things you can do to slightly improve the fuel efficiency of your vehicle. Make sure your car's tires are properly inflated, and treat your engine to regular tune-ups. Check your engine's air filter, since a dirty air filter will compromise fuel economy.
Drivers must shut their engine off before pumping gas because it's illegal to fuel with the engine running, even though this law isn't always aggressively enforced. Pumping gas with the engine running can compromise your safety. When your car's engine is running, it's possible for its catalytic converters to generate heat that could ignite gasoline, and start a fire.
Even though many gas stations have warnings advising you not to use your cell phone while fueling, the chances of cell phones igniting a gasoline vapor fire are extremely remote. However, fires at the gas pump may be caused by static electricity discharge. For safe fueling, it's recommended that you turn off your car's engine and avoid smoking at the pump. Also, you should never re-enter your vehicle while refueling.
Many factors contribute to the lack of uniformity in gas prices. Retailers consider their tax responsibilities when setting gas prices. States place varying taxes on gasoline retailers, and a state with higher taxes will have higher gas prices than a state in which the taxes are lower. Also, if a gas station is located in an especially competitive area, a branded operator may receive wholesale discounts that allow the station to sell gas at a lower price. This is done by brands to keep their gas competitive in tight markets.
