Drain Works
Yves, LaurelI bought a new sewer ejector pump and sump pump for my basement and needed a local licensed plumper to do the job. I was instructed by a friend to contact Drain Works LLC and I am so glad I did. The job knowledge of this guy, the professionalism and yes the pricing are just unbelievable…can’t be matched. Well, now I know who to call with my plumbing problems.

Drain Works
I contacted Drain Works LLC to get a quote to replace my bathroom sink, recaulk my tub, and patch up the paint and drywall in my bathroom to put my towel holders back up. Jorge was very professional and came to my house to look at everything and to give me a quote. Before Jorge, I got quotes from two other local companies. I went with Jorge, because he took the time to do a thorough check of the problems and he also had the most reasonable pricing. Jorge was able to work with my schedule and came to make the repairs A.S.A.P. He picked out a new sink for me, and made a point to get one that would last this time but that was still within my budget. He also paid attention to little details. For instance, when he replaced the paint around my towel houlders he made a point to make sure the paint was not smooth, so it would match the rest of the walls. Jorge did an awesome job! He was thorough, but he still got the work done in a decent amount of time. He was also very good about explaining the work he did. I will definitely call Drain Works LLC next time I need any work done around my house! Professionalism, great customer service, honesty, and reasonable prices are not easy to find. I definitely recommend Drain Works LLC.

ARS / Rescue Rooter Laurel
I have been very frustrated with the level of service from ARS. Because I have a relatively new HVAC unit and a service contract, I have not terminated my association with your company. And then came MICHAEL G. Michael G. came to do a "Routine Service" call and ended up being the best evaluator of a dysfunctional HVAC system than any other ARS technician or comfort advisor who had visited my home. Upon entering my home, Michael G. asked if I had "any problems with my 21 month old unit?" My quick reply was "yes" followed by my observations. Like a true detective, Michael began to search for a reason for the problem. This experienced technician immediately began to make observations and recommendations about the problems citing specific examples. Michael assured me that after submitting his report, accompanied by pictures he had taken, specialized technicians would do a follow up and a set up a work schedule for remediation. Finally, I am getting some help. Thank you Michael G., you are the best!

ARS / Rescue Rooter Laurel
With the most recent heat wave, our air conditioner unit went out. ARS technician, Jim came out and had the unit fixed within 30 minutes. Jim was very courteous and professional. I would personally request this ARS technician above all others. He definitely shows a concern for his customers and a desire to get the job done. Thanks so much Jim!

Do not use this company for your HVAC repair. While they showed up promptly and acted courtesly, they were completely unable to fix my unit, claiming that the unit--which was only 5 years old--needed to be replaced entirely. I had a second company come out, and they were able to fix the unit within a half hour, and it is working perfectly now. In fact, the only problem with the unit was a blown fuse, a very small and easy fix. That makes me wonder about the professionalism and training of the ARS technicians. Do not use them!
Tips & Advices
  • Are you licensed and registered?
  • Are you insured and bonded?
  • How many years have you been in business?
  • What, if any, professional associations do you belong to?
  • May I have a list of references?
  • Do you offer a written warranty for your work?
  • Will I need a permit for this work?
It is important to have a written warranty for any work or repairs done to the plumbing in your house, especially if it is a major repair. Look for a professional  who is willing to  stand by his or her work.
Before you hire a plumber, contact their past customers if you're able to. These people can be a wealth of information if you ask them the right questions. Pose the following queries to these former patrons when you get the chance:
  • Were you pleased with the work done?
  • Was the project completed on time?
  • Did the plumber give you a written warranty and guarantee his or her work?
  • Were there any unexpected costs that arose?
  • Would you hire this plumber again? If not, why?
A permit provides added assurance that the work is done correctly. Having this in place means an inspector will check the work your contractor or plumber does to ensure he or she did the job correctly. If you plan on putting your house or commercial building on the market, a real estate agent and prospective buyers will want to check any large work you did to make sure it was done properly.
A trustworthy plumber will have both commercial liability insurance as well as be bonded. The insurance and the bond protects the plumber from paying for any damages made to your house out of pocket. Having professionals that carry both of these policies can protect all of you from any mishaps that could occur while they work on your building.
