Desert Springs Pools & Spas, Inc.
Great pool good price.3-16-13 Called Desert Springs Pools for quote on 3-28-13The first available day to come to our house for a preliminary quote was not until March 28.3-28-13 The pool designer was about an hour late but called to explain at the time the appointment was scheduled.4-2-13 Met at their design center to see virtual designs . We were given a quote comparable to blue haven pools and vintage pools but they were giving us MORE. (We had also called out prestige pools but the owner took two weeks to get back to us and we had gotten 3 quotes and already signed with Desert Springs.) We liked Desert Springs design the best and were getting more decking and a 83 perimeter pool that was 476 sq ft total. It was larger pool than the other quotes. Desert Springs started with a 40k price and dropped it down to 33k with their incentives. We did a similar pool with them in 2009 for 25k and was able to get a deeper discount on this pool which brought that$33k price to $28k. I asked the pool designer to send me digital copies of various screen shots of the pool plan. I did not get these shots any time soon and had to ask multiple times. The contract had an estimated START date of 4-22-13 and COMPLETION date of 5-30-13.And so it begins:4-18-13 Sprayed out pool.4-26-13 Bulldozer was delivered Friday. 4/29 & 4/30 Dug pool Monday/Tuesday (Moving along rather quickly :)5/1 to 5/3/13 Equipment, steel, electrical (Moving along rather quickly :)5-16-13 Gunite (Moving along rather quickly :). I noticed two umbrella sleeves and an irrigation sleeve were missing. I reminded the company and even sprayed a reminder on the ground to make sure they were included and to prevent a mistake. I was not at home during most of the pool construction. 5-18-13 Tile (Felt like a long delay time for next step)5-31-13 Concrete decking 6-10-13 cool deck6-12-13 block wall. (Block wall guys noticed a mistake, the company was going to install my old gate instead of the rv gates in the contract, this was corrected before mistake was made, almost immediately.6-13-13 gate part 16-14-13 gate part 26-18-13inspection6-19-13 pool clean out6-20-13 plaster6-22-13 start upCompletion date was 3 weeks longer than expected but pretty close,Bummer, that the designer was flakey this time around. Here is the situation with him.Sent text to designer on 4-22-13 for pics of pool. No response.Left a voicemail asking a few days later. On 5-21-13 I asked again and was a little snippy and finally got the pics that I originally asked for on 4-2-13 on 5-22-13. I could not really get help from the designer once pool docs were signed. Some other people assisted me in the show room with tile and decking. Some were helpful others not so helpful. If you are inexperienced with design and pools I HIGHLY suggest making the designer help you pick out you tile, decking, plaster/pebbletek, and cool decking before you even talk prices. Then talk price and sign docs. There is no reason to make multiple trips down to pick out all that out later and they are so busy its hard to get real design help later down the road. Terri, who does scheduling is quite helpful and will even text back and forth.

Recently my air conditioning went out in my home. This was on a Sunday. . I started to run the gambit and make several phone calls to several companies. I had two companies that told me there is an additional charge for weekend service calls. .I'm not sure if it was the actual technician I was speaking to or the actual office? Because one of the persons gave the sense that they just didn't want to be bothered. I was told by another person it would be Wednesday before they could come out and depending on what was wrong with the air conditioner. .they may or may not have the part and might have to be ordered. I really don't like to name drop..but one company who claims the YES man can. ... tried to get me to buy a new air conditioning system over the phone without ever even coming out to my home....? after getting completely frustrated with him.. I asked where he got his crystal ball at that told him I need a new system without even looking at it? And does it tell him that I work hard for my money and it's American money which means it spends everywhere. .just not with them! I got to A Tech and spoke to the gym who answered the phone. He told me there is no extra charge just because it's the weekend and they could come out later that day. After sweating all day in my home plus worrying that in going to have to max out the credit card to fix my A/C. I was a little bit short tempered when the Tech arrived. He was calm and confident that he could figure out what was wrong and get it fixed ASAP . After about 15-20 minutes he informed me that it is the condenser motor.. he had one on his truck and could get my A/ C going in about one hour. Fearing for my wallet..arm..armed a leg..? He gave a price and informed me he likes to use a high temperature motor that usually lasts longer in hotter temperatures. But doesn't charge extra. When I asked him why he didn't try to get a whole lot more money for this type of motor? He looked at me and replied. . I work hard for my money and would not feel comfortable ripping people off..instead.. give them their monies worth. . It's just the right thing to do. I then apologized for my short attitude with him.. he interrupted me by saying. .he understands and he never even noticed my grouchiness. After installing the motor he went through the air conditioner and checked everything else out. He told me. .sure it has issues. .it's an older unit.. but it still has alot of life left in and just have it serviced on a regular basis. . And it would help to prevent future problems and gives a heads up on issues that may be coming up. I felt very comfortable spending the money with him..even bought a Mantainance contact with him to service it. I also thanked him for his Integrity and for explaining what was wrong where I could understand what he was talking about. He said to me.. I'm the company owner and demand the same for his office and field staff. If you care about your hard earned money and home as much as I do? I highly recommend using them. Clean work. .honesty. .and Integrity. .what I feel was fair prices. . Without hesitation.. I will use them in the future everytime.

Finally! Honesty, fair price, Quality & value! Purchased 2 units 12 years ago for a 2-story home. The company was referred by a friend (not a friend anymore). After about the 3rd year we started noticing a difference in their performance especially the larger unit that cools about 70% of the home. Started by calling them under a supposed warranty and poof they sold the business, no cigar. For 10 years, every year we called in some bozo from an a/c company to have a look and the same problem persisted year after year. We were given quotes to fix it from $1,300 to over $5,000. We were told by one tech we needed new systems. But, nobody could tell us exactly what was wrong and demanded our first born in exchange for a repair. Well, I found A-Tech on Home Advisor and thank you Home Advisor!! A-Tech showed up both times within the frames set. Brad came, had a look, immediately fixed the small unit and put 1 pound of coolant in the large unit to get us through until he could get a tech back for the repair. To do all this he charged me less than $200.00. He explained the exact issues with the larger unit. A crack/leak had developed, out of coolant and on initial installation failure to seal the unit on the bottom. So, for over 10 years this larger unit was blowing cold air all over my roof. This would explain our $500.00 a month plus power bills. The day of the work to be done, 2 of Brad's techs showed up on time and worked for approx. 3 hours. Jared was very nice and explained what he had done and the challenges to seal underneath the unit but that he had gotten it done. They didn't charge me extra. They stood by the estimate given by Brad. This big unit took approx 11 pounds of coolant. I am still amazed every time I think about it how reasonable it was for us to repair these 2 units. Cost us less than $800.00 total. I couldn't have purchased the coolant for this amount! Both units are working fine. They are keeping up and we are so very happy. At the time these repairs were made the temperature outside was 110 deg. and inside our home was 89 deg. Thank you so very much for being there Brad!!!!!!!!

Team Ford Lincoln
I have had numerous experiences at Team Ford Lincoln. The service I have received has been above and beyond what I expected in terms of customer service. After reading the previous review, I found myself compelled to write this statement.First thing, what kind of battery dies while the vehicle is engaged and in motion? Second, I would think the dealership that charged $350 to assist you would be the one taking advantage of a person's misfortune. I have had dead batteries in my lifetime and I have never paid that much. Having battery issues here in Las Vegas isn't uncommon. It's 100+ degrees, dry and dusty. Secondly, I believe I know the sales manager you are referring to. I find it impossible that she would have said the things you are claiming she said. In the event that your recollection of the conversation could be incorrect, I would like to introduce a couple of words as well as their definitiion to you. Defamation—also called calumny, vilification, or traducement—is the communication of a false statement that harms the reputation of an individual, business, product, group, government, religion, or nation. Most jurisdictions allow legal action to deter various kinds of defamation and retaliate against groundless criticism.Under common law, to constitute defamation, a claim must generally be false and have been made to someone other than the person defamed.[1] Some common law jurisdictions also distinguish between spoken defamation, called slander, and defamation in other media such as printed words or images, called libel.[2]I am so frustrated over people looking to hold someone accountable for everything that happens to them. Wether in their control or not. We now live in a society where so many are looking for something for nothing and refuse to take accountabilty for anything. Just accept that things just happen. And when you don't get the answer you wanted, think about it before you slander another person just because you don't like the answer you have received.

Union Plumbing
As a homeowner and consumer advocate with over 40 years of plumbers experiences in 3 states, I rate my 11/4/2015 experience with Union Plumbing as one of the BEST. Bought a gas Rheem water heater from Home Depot 7/1/2014. On 10/29/2015, no hot water. Phoned Rheem's 800# and spent 38 minutes with tech trying to restart it but pilot would not light. Tech "said" he was ordering a new control module that I would receive at my home by next day air. Within 2 hours, received call from Union Plumbing to schedule the service call but I said I was waiting for the part and would call back to schedule. No part arrived the next day so I phoned Rheem to get the tracking #. After over 15 minutes on hold listening to elevator music, operator apologized and said initial tech did not order the part, which she then ordered. I phoned Rheem on 11/2/2015 and obtained FedEx tracking # so I then phoned Union to schedule service for 11/4/2015 and was told tech would arrive between noon and 4PM. Ian Hickman phoned me 20 minutes before he arrived at 2:30PM. I watched Ian drain the tank and install the new Honeywell WV8840C1605. During the process Ian educated me on the fact that many of these Honeywell parts are failing and being replaced in Rheem and AO Smith water heaters due to coating on the probe and faulty circuit board. The new part has improved stainless steel probe, circuit board and even a nice blue indicator light replacing the orange one. One hour later I could hear and see my water heater doing it's job. Having renovated my home and replaced Kitec fittings over the past 2 years, I've experienced 5 different plumbing companies in Nevada. Thank you Ian and Union Plumbing for a first class experience!

David's Complete Auto Repair
I purchased an RV from out of state and wanted to get it inspected and brought up to date before my 1000+ trip home. I was so fortunate to find Davids auto repair. David made sure a full inspection of the motorhome was done, he found numerous small issues and added a lot of new parts that had deteriorated from just sitting in the sun for too long. He found a few things that the dealership failed to find and fix and helped me get the costs for that covered. I looked up the prices for the parts he put in and found that he sold me the parts at cost and found me better discounts on other parts that were of the same quality. He called me 2 or 3 times every day to keep me up to date on what they were doing. He even came out to the dealership to meet me and go through the RV with me while the dealership tech gave me the walkthrough. For everything they did to my new motorhome, the price was very fair. These guys are real professionals, they know what they are doing! Purchasing from out of state was a stressful experience because of everything that could go wrong on the trip home. David made sure the motorhome purred like a kitten all the way home. I highly recommend Davids complete auto repair!!!

Discount Muffler Brakes and A/C, Inc.
Bryan and his entire staff of professionals are the very best I have dealt with in over 50 years. I have an antique 1976 Chrysler New Yorker Broham I have owned for many years. I live in Las Vegas, Nevada and auto air condition is a must in our 120+ heat in the summertime. I tried for over 6 months to get a reasonable estimate on getting it fixed and $2000.00+ was out of the question. I went to the internet and found this site and business with so many satisfied customers it was unbelievable.I called for an appointment and got in the very next day. I met with Bryan the manager and was immediately impressed. He gave me a rough estimate of $250 to $350, depending on what they found in the system and what new parts were needed. Bottom line is it took about 4 yours of work and a return 2 days later because of a freon power hose that had to be ordered. I now have ice cold air with a total cost of $352.00, including taxes. All these positive write-ups of Bryan and his staff were 100% right. The repair workers even took time to talk with me personally, which is highly unusual. A 5 star rating isn't high enough. I give them all a "PERFECT 10". A super- happy customer in Las Vegas Nevada. Don.

Midas Auto Service Experts
Craig at this MIdas location is fantastic. We brought him a used car to check out that we were interested in buying from HondaWest. It was a 2004 Saturn Vue they were selling for $5200. Within 10 minutes he was telling us not to buy the car -- it had some major repair issues -- over $2700. He directed us to CarMax because he thought they had good used cars around $5000 (they don't unfortunately). We also told him about a car that a salesman was willing to sell us for $4000 (his own car) and once we told him the year and make he advised us he thought the price was high -- which after a check on Kelley's Blue Book -- we discovered it was -- by about 1/3. Then about an hour later I got a call from Craig telling me he knew someone at another Midas location that was selling a car within our price range and that he thought it was a good car. We went and looked at it and bought it. THANK YOU CRAIG!!! We thought we were out of luck in finding a car for my brother before I returned the next morning to Chicago but because of Craig's tip we were able to buy him what we think is a mechanically sound car that was within our budget ($3000).

A-Tech Heating and Cooling LLC
It's very refreshing and means a lot to find a company who is honest in Las Vegas. The owner Brad, and his Lead Service Man Jared, were very professional and treated us with respect. Jared and his helper (sorry can't remember his name, but was also a very nice man), were on time and went directly to work to see what the problem was. Yes, we realize our unit is older, but it still works and cools great. The problem was diagnosed quickly. Jared told us what the problem was, showed me the part, and quoted me a price. I agreed and they went got the new part came back and replaced it.. Quick, courteous, and done for less than $300. Quite different from another company who came to give us a quote. Nice crisp uniform and quite the talker/seller. Went up in the attic but never took anything apart. He then proceeded to tell me that they could band-aid it for about $1300, but he highly recommended we replace the entire unit for $7 to $15K. He pushed and pushed and was shown the door. I have already recommended A-Tech and will use them again when our unit eventually goes out. Very nice people running their family owned fabulous company.

I'm a work from home mom with a 4 month old and a somewhat erratic schedule. As such, punctuality, efficiency, professionalism, and affordability are extremely important to me. Let's tackle one at a time. Punctuality: One of my biggest gripes with service calls is that the techs are *always* late. Not only was Jared on time, he was actually EARLY. Efficiency: My second biggest issue is that they show up (eventually), check to see what's wrong, then have to come back a second or third time to actually fix the problem. Jared had the part I needed right in his truck so we didn't have to schedule any follow up appointments. He came, fixed my unit, and left again all under an hour. Professionalism: The first two points tie into this, and as an added bonus, Jared was friendly. Affordability: The diagnostic fee was rolled into the price of the total repair, and at the time I called (not sure if this is ongoing) there was a 10% off deal through Yelp. My total ended up being considerably less than the quote I received from other companies. I would highly recommend this company to anyone who needs HVAC work done.
Tips & Advices
Among the common scams pulled are needless repairs, where a garage charges you for work that isn't necessary. Another popular one is attracting customers through a cheap oil change or tire pressure check. Then, when you your car is being repaired, they give you a long list of other corrections they'd like to make, therefore boosting the total cost of your bill. The best way to combat these types of problems is getting a written estimate before work is done so you can see how much repairs are expected to cost. If the final bill is higher than the estimate projected, ask to specifically see the work. Make sure information is put in writing as well. If a problem remains, you can have proof that work was not done to your satisfaction.
For winter driving, features such as the defroster, heater and exhaust system are paramount. Look in your owner's manual for specific directions on how features should be checked and repaired. Many newer cars have a cabin air filter that can be replaced when needed, allowing warm air to continue to flow in. Also, check tires before winter driving, as they need to be at the proper pressure to perform well on snow and ice.
In the spring and summer, you want to be sure your air conditioner and cooling systems work correctly. Given the high temperatures, overheating is a common problem. Look over the system by ensuring there is enough coolant available. If it needs to be refilled, it is best to open the hood and add more to the car before it gets too warm out. Also, clean out fan ducts and other ventilation sources necessary for summertime driving.
Some fixes to your car can be done without paying a specialist. Issues like replacing oil and air filters are relatively simple, with instructions provided in the owner's manual on how to make these changes. The same goes for replacing broken windshield wipers or burnt-out headlights. Such issues should be repaired quickly to guarantee safety, but don't require a visit to a garage.
Yes. Not every type of auto repair work needs to be done by a certified mechanic. You can fix some of a vehicle's issues just by paying attention to how the automobile is running and having a basic understanding of auto repair. Look over the ways weather may impact your car and what preventative measures you can take to avoid having to take it into the shop.

Just a moment...
