The owner James is a true sweetheart. Being that i'm not auto savvy, no matter what question i have about my vehicle he always takes the time to answer anything i may ask. If i'm in the area he will take time from his busy schedule and do whats necessary to put my mind at ease. I really appreciate his integrity. Instead of looking at my car and feeding me lies about my brakes being 90% worn or using any other unscrupulous tactics (another mechanic tried this before I went to Daps. Plus I had my brakes changed a few months prior so I knew that guy was lying. He also tried to convince me that I ordered the full service special <$80 more> when I only asked for an oil change) James tells me the upfront truth, has great prices, and will refer me to another mechanic if necessary. Honest mechanics are hard to find. Any mechanic that is more concerned with my safety and satisfaction than his bottom line is a keeper.

SUVs & Trucks R Us
I have used this repair facility for several of my vehicles including a Mercedes and a truck. For several years I thought I was getting great service on my vehicles , although I always felt the price was at the top of the line. Then I guess they got too busy to really pay attention to what made them so good. I had an exhaust system installed on my truck for about 1000 dollars and when I picked it up my truck I found that it was not the system I asked for and as I drove it home the vibration was terrible. They welded a section of exhaust pipe directly against the frame resulting in a loud vibration at idle. Also about two years ago I had a new motor and air conditioning system installed and after only 25000 miles the motor makes noise and the A/C had to be replaced so I am not so convinced of their ability to do quality work anymore and have moved on to a new shop

Finding a mechanic that can be trusted to do quality work at a fair price is a challenge. Bernie and his staff at SUV & Trucks R Us are that rare find. They are honest, up-front, and extremely competent. The years of experience are evident just talking with them - if it has happened to a vehicle, they've probably seen it and definitely know what to do about it! The services I have had performed on my truck were very well worth the cost. There were additional things done (extra cleaning of engine parts, for example) that took an appreciable amount of time, but were included without raising the estimated cost. Why? Bernie says, "It's customer service. We want you to come back." They are my shop of choice, and if you want quality service, they should be yours, too.

SUVs & Trucks R Us
I was recently in a car accident and I found SUV and Trucks R US online. Before agreeing to move forward with the repairs, I asked a very simple question, "Can you guys bill my insurance company?" A gentleman on the line said that they would be able to "bill anything to the insurance company" (exact verbiage). After my service was nearly finished, they told me that they do not bill insurance companies and I needed to be a cash pay. I would have never moved forward if I knew that they didn't have a case manager onsite who handles with clients' insurance. I was completely blindsided with a $1400+ payment. Very disappointed in the service I received. I will never recommend or come here again.

I was a customer of this shop for years taking both my Mercedes and my Chevy truck there. About two years ago I had a brand new motor installed in my truck along with an A/C system. After only 25000 miles the A/C had to be replaced and the motor makes noise. I also had a new exhaust system installed on my truck and whoever did it welded a section of the pipe against the frame so it vibrates like hell at idle. I used to think I got great service from John and Bernie but always felt I paid top price too. When I emailed John I received a rely all in caps that was their standard canned reply. I have since found another shop

Asian Imports Plus
I bought a Tacoma and wanted running boards installed. The dealer quoted me over a grand. I found the identical board online and took it to Keith at Asian Imports PLUS just west of the 215 off Jones and they installed them in less than an hour while I watched their widescreen TV. The price was a small fraction of the dealer's quote. The shop was immaculate, the service was friendly and by the number of certificates of accomplishment covering their wall, I expect they are equipped to handle just about anything including motorcycles. I was very pleased and plan to take all my vehicle to Asian Imports PLUS.

Shelton Battery Inc.
I needed a new battery and my husband came across Shelton Battery. He called and they told him that they had a refurbished battery for my car and they would hold it for me. When I got there Brian looked for it and said that he didn't have it. Needless to say I wasn't very happy. He then said that he had a new battery. Im thinking oh great how much is that gonna be. I ended getting a brand new battery for $54 and Brian even put it in for me(I dont think they normally do that). Anyway it ended up to be a good experience. Fast, friendly, and helpful! I would recommend for anyone that needs a new battery.

Shelton Battery Inc.
I am a car dealer and often need to replace batteries. If you are looking to replace your vehicle's battery but do not wish to pay the high cost of a brand new battery, then go to Shelton Battery and get yourself a reconditioned one in the $30 range. In most instances, they will even install it for you at no extra charge. As of this day, November 7, 2012, Autozone currently charges $115.99 for their Duralast Gold and $99.99 for the standard model. Wal-mart auto batteries start at around $80. Long gone are the days of new batteries in the $50 and $60 range, so Shelton is where I go!

Bacas National Transmission & Differential LLC
One of the last two honest mechanics left in Vegas. I've trusted several cars to them over the last few years, as well have my friends. They're always fair and have never taken advantage. More than once I have had them return a car to me, without charge for unnecessary work, when I feared something had gone wrong. I also had a friend bring his truck back after the trans case cracked, and they replaced... for free... under warranty... without question. LOVE, LOVE, LOVE THESE GUYS!!!

I used to hate autozone until jerry helped me at this one.... I've never seen such a courteous, professional, and automotive intelligent guy... He really helped me solve a 3 day problem with my battery... His manager kept getting mad at him for taking so much time with me, but he told me "I'm gonna fix this for and do it the right way no matter how long it takes" I really am in his debt... Thanks Jerry
Tips & Advices
Depending on the part and its overall quality, a good amount of money can be saved by purchasing aftermarket parts versus OEM parts. But aftermarket parts that are low in price might also be lower in quality and could do more harm than good to your car, or they may need to be replaced more frequently than a more expensive counterpart. This could lead to saving some money in the short term, but spending more than anticipated in the long term.
The type of tires being purchased is the most significant determinant of their price. SUV tires are more costly than average car tires. And high-performance tires are more costly than economy grade tires. On average, standard tires for an average-sized vehicle are around $100 per tire. Standard tires for an SUV are around $150 and pick-up truck tires are about $200 on average. Some dealers offer discounts if purchasing more than one tire.
Car inspections typically take about an hour. However the wait time can be longer depending on how busy the shop is. Call ahead for an appointment to avoid long wait times.
Depending on the manufacturer, certain aftermarket parts can be just as reliable as Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) parts. But one item within a vehicle, like oil filters for instance, could have multiple manufacturers and there could be inconsistencies in quality among them.
Costs of replacing a windshield can vary greatly depending on a variety of factors:
  • Vehicle make and model
  • How much of the cost insurance will cover
  • Whether the windshield installers come to your location or you bring the vehicle to them
  • Standard service costs of the windshield installers
Generally, newer and higher-end vehicles cost more to have their windshields replaced because certain manufacturers use modified or proprietary glass types.
