In Sept. of 2010, I bought a house that needed new carpeting. Tom came and showed me several selections. I wanted PURPLE because my mother loves purple and my parents were going to be occupying the house. Tom was able to get me a few purple selections to choose from. Then they installed it and my mother loved it!! Tom is awesome to deal with. He vets his install crews to get hard working, quality installers. Recently I asked Tom to come out to my own home and see about installing tile throughout my downstairs level. Tom had his crew come out and install the tile. They did an awesome job. I had purchased the grout (probably should have let Tom's crew buy the grout) - nonetheless, the grout, although the same name/brand was off in color - we couldn't determine this till the grout was dry. Tom had his guys come out and make it the same color all through the whole downstairs. I love that Tom and his crew work to make things right. He is a great guy to work with and he and his crews take great pride in getting things right. It shows in the work they do. (I would like to mention that while doing a community project for a non-profit organization we found major problems with the flooring. I talked to Tom and he came out and told us what needed to be done and how to do it and his expertise was invaluable!!!)

Pebble Stone Coatings
Last year we added some concrete on the sides of our driveway to make it wider. I don't know why everyone in my neighborhood has the smallest driveways, but you can't step out of your car without stepping on the landscaping. I had my driveway widened a foot on each side, but the color of the concrete didn't match the rest of the driveway. A co-worker of mine told me about the Pebble Stone and I had them come out to see if they could blend in the colors. They put a coating on that tied everything in. They put one color of stone on the new concrete and a different color on the old. The end result was amazing. It looks great. I get a lot of compliments from my neighbors. It really changed the whole look of my home in front. I have stacked stone (bricks) on the front of my house that they matched pretty close and my house looks nicer than the model!

Floors Etc
I found this vendor on the internet and I'd have to say I did a good job at that. They were the easiest flooring vendor to deal with. I was able to meet with the owner the 1st day I came to the store. She provided me with samples to take back and show my Program Manager what the flooring would look like. I ordered flooring and glue from them and it was not that hard. The flooring looked great and was delivered on-time. I even ordered more to send to our other location in AL and they were able to get it there pretty fast. I would definitely use Floors Etc. again!

Pebble Stone Coatings
We bought a house that had no patio. Well, we had a 3'x3' pad outside our back door. We had Pebble Stone come out and they had a company pour a new patio for us and we had the stone applied over the top and it looks great. We are having a patio cover put on in two weeks, and can't wait to enjoy our new yard. Shawn was our salesman and he gave us some wonderful tips on landscaping (which we followed to the T) and everything looks great. The patio cover will be the finishing touch. Now I'm ready to buy my patio set. Thanks again.

The owner of this company is the best. His name is Tom and I'll tell yah anything you need you just ask. If he can do it he will. He and him crew did an awesome over the top job at my home. They are professional and friendly and you couldn't ask for a better team of people to do work for you. After researching other company's in town their prices were the best in town although they should charge a lot more for the work they do and the service the provide they keep it low. THANKS EXPERT FLOORING....

Apex Flooring
This company did a great job. Ron from Apex flooring came to my house and went over all my different floor options and colors to choose from. I ended up choosing a floor that looks like real wood but its completely waterproof. Luv my new floor! I would definitely use them again.

Tips & Advices
In most states, contractors are required to have a license before taking a job. Some states also require registration. To be licensed, contractors must pass an exam and meet certain qualifications that prove he or she is a competent flooring contractor. Registration is simply a list of who will be performing a job.
The time it takes to install flooring depends on the type of flooring and the size of the room or rooms involved in the project. In one day, a typical contractor can usually install up to 2,000 square feet of carpet, 600 square feet of hardwood or laminate, or 400 square feet of tile or stone.
  • Do you have a professional license, insurance, and a business liability policy?
  • Who will work on the project?
  • Do you subcontract, and do you screen workers and have insurance policies to cover them?
  • Do you have references or examples of your work I can see?
  • Do you charge for an in-home estimate?
  • What type of flooring is best for my home in terms of architectural consistency, environmental influences (such as whether a certain type of flooring will be affected by humidity in my area), and durability?
Legally, insurance is not necessary, but it's a good idea for flooring contractors to have it. When hiring a flooring contractor, ask whether the business is insured. If it's not, consider that a red flag.
A flooring contractor should know the pros and cons of each flooring option. These might include pricing, time of installation, durability, and average lifespan of the material.
