VCA Hualapai Animal Hospital
After moving here in June, my golden got a UTI so I was referred by a friend to VCA Hualapai and we had the pleasure of meeting Dr. Jen Sapanos. She was great with our golden and texted me immediately with test results and even checked on her throughout the week. Unfortunately not long after that our dog had an accident while playing and simply come down wrong from jumping and ruptured a disc with bruising to her spine. She had to be taken to an after hours emergency vet due to the time of the incident. She has paralysis now in her hind quarters (which should improve once the swelling goes down on her spine). Although Dr. Sapanos is not her doctor throughout this recovery because the spinal injury requires a neuro-specialist, Dr. Sapanos has been actively texted to check on her well being and has even helped with getting us information for local physical therapist. I have had many dogs and moved a few times so I have had multiple vets throughout . I have never had one go above and beyond to help my dog like Dr. Jen Sapanos. She is stil texted to check on her even though she is not seeing her for this injury. I am so thankful for her time and help with our golden. I HIGHLY recommend her. The office staff is also just as helpful and friendly and I have no doubt the rest of the vets in this office are just as amazing .

Aloha Animal Hospital
This is Dr. Jamie of Aloha and I wanted to reply to Andrea S. comments about the loss of her pet. I am sorry that I am unable to comment directly on your review but I do hope that you see this. We do feel very badly for your loss and understand that you are angry about the unexpected loss of your pet however we cannot take blame for your loss. Unfortunately, we did see your pet in October of 2015, a year before you took him to another veterinarian and had to have him put to sleep. We did not find an answer on the bloodwork and exam that we performed that day but we did recommend further testing because we felt that you pet had cancer that we had not yet identified. You elected not to pursue any further testing and did not return to us with him for any follow up care. So while I do understand how heartbreaking it is to lose a pet, we did try our best to help you find the illness affecting your pet. Our sympathies for your loss.

Aloha Animal Hospital
Finding the right Vet is like finding the right pediatrician. Dr Cheryl is a wonderful and caring doctor. I love that they called to see how our puppy did after his shots. Our puppy had just been in and had an issue arise and instead of making us come back for another visit, she called me the same day and managed his care without another visit. The staff is friendly and supportive. I can't say enough about them. I live 30 minutes away with many other choices available and I wouldn't even consider another vet, she is that great!

Creature Comforts Animal Hospital
The entire atmosphere at Creature Comforts Animal Hospital is a positive and caring one. The staff there, Doctors, reception, and assistants alike, are compassionate, considerate, and truly have your pet's best interest in mind. I would recommend this clinic one hundred times over to owners of all pets; dogs, cats, ferrets, birds, snakes, lizards, and many more!

Las Vegas Animal Emergency Hospital
I had to take my dog Roper in because he was limping. I had finacial concerns but the doctor worked within my budget to make Roper comfortable until I was able to go to my regular VET. The entire staff went above and beyond to help me and my dog! I wish LVAEH had a day veterinarian business I would be going to them in a heart beat

Melanie Brazil DVM
I am thoroughly pleased with Dr Brazil and her knowledge of animals. She is an excellent vet that I would refer everybody to spay and neuter ctr. Staff was all very friendly. Establishment was super clean. And I did not leave out with any unanswered questions or concerns. I thank you Dr Brazil for saving my little smidge

South Buffalo Springs Animal Hospital
We've taken our dogs there a few times and they were excellent. You can tell they really love animals and they weren't overcrowded like some of the vets in vegas are. I think it's because they are new and not many people know them yet.

Sunrise Veterinary Clinic
Dr David is a kind, loving and very honest veterinarian. My "kids" only go to him. If in fact he told you your pet was dangerous perhaps you should take heed. Also, you may consider taking a spelling & diction class sweetie (Kara).

Banfield Pet Hospital
Though quite pricey - during the last seven years they always provided excellent services to my pet Bubele (a 130 lbs mixed calf size ). He is physically and mentally very healthy! Thanks to all the staff!

Tips & Advices
Most 24-hour clinics do not allow owners to stay with their pets overnight. However, many do have specific visiting hours or will let owners see their pets at any point during the day. In addition, owners can call most clinics at any time for an update on their pet's well being.
  • Important phone numbers, especially those of the the veterinary clinic, the animal hospital or emergency clinic, and the poison control center
  • A book detailing pet first-aid steps
  • Copy of medical records
  • Nylon leash
  • Muzzle (only use if pet is not vomiting and has no difficulty breathing)
  • Absorbent gauze
  • Nonlatex disposable gloves
  • Scissors
  • Tweezers
  • Nail clippers
  • Digital thermometer
  • Sterile saline solution
  • Hydrogen peroxide (to induce vomiting only at the recommendation of a veterinarian
  • Milk of magnesia (to absorb poison only at the recommendation of a veterinarian)
Find a 24-hour animal hospital that provides emergency services within your area. Keep the facility's contact information in a place that's easy to locate, such as the refrigerator, address book, or smartphone. Most veterinary clinics operate on standard business hours and are not equipped to handle emergencies.
Veterinary clinics operate on a smaller scale than animal hospitals. The latter are more likely open 24 hours and provide emergency services. The former generally operate on typical office hours and only perform wellness exams and minor surgeries. Veterinary clinics also do not generally perform laboratory tests on site.
The specifics vary depending on the type of visit. For a wellness exam, bring:
  • Medical records
  • The type or brand of food the pet eats
  • Medication (including flea, tick, and heartworm medication).
If the animal needs medical treatment, the following may be helpful depending on the situation:
  • Fresh stool sample
  • Vomit sample
  • Video of the pet engaging in abnormal behavior
  • Substance the pet may have ingested
