I highly recommend JJC Clocks if you want a well-cared for, one-of-a-kind, beautiful antique clock. They have the largest collection of antique clocks I've seen anywhere and the absolute best prices. My son and I went for the afternoon. We had an excellent time Luke is 12 and loves antiques, The employees and sellers treated Luke and myself like people who they cared about, they took the time to talk to us even tho we let them know we were not buying at the time. They made luke and myself feel very welcome and wanted as customers, and that is very important to me, customer service was excellent. There was no pressure to buy or leave due to not buying. There was such a variety of beautiful bobbles and thingies old and new. If you want to go and have a great time and look for hours not in a rush the Antique mall of America is the place YOU SHOULD GO!!!!!

I was in Vegas a few days ago and as I always do when travelling, made the rounds of all the vintage/antique/consignment shops in the area. I found the people in these places pleasant and helpful, and some even suggested I visit the shops of their competitors, whether I bought from them or not. Then I hit this place, Retro Vegas and things didn't go so well. First I will say emphatically that if you decide to buy anything from this place, DO NOT trust that they will pre-disclose any major damage or defects. The following story will explain why I say this. Long story short, I found a 3 piece vintage wool suit by Kimberly Knits I liked, but found it was not in excellent (vintage) condition. Retro Vegas had it listed originally at the ludicrously high price of 160dollars. This is nuts even if the suit was in perfect condtion. It was marked down to 120, still crazy high if you compare it to what you can get in excellent condtion on eBay. I actually own three Kimberly 3 piece suits in excellent vintage condtion and paid less than 60dollars for each. So I pointed out to the clerk that there were noticeable armpit stains on the top of the suit and he agreed (grudgingly and with attitude) to take another 20% off, bringing it to 96dollars. I thanked him and said I would think about it. I came back the next day after having decided to get it after all. I knew it was still stupidly overpriced but I wanted it anyway. Luckily I looked it over carefully before paying. It doesn't pay to rush when buying vintage. I found a moth hole in the top which was not right through, but a big hole in the front of the skirt, just below the navel area. I could get my pinky through it and it was too low to be hidden by the top. I asked if they could do better than 96 as this price had been agreed upon before seeing this major noticeable damage and got major attitude and resentment. The clerk ended up reneging on the offer of ANY discount and said they were going to repair it and relist it for the original 160dollars. What baffled me was their snotty attitude and ice cold demeanor. I want to make it clear that I was pleasant, polite and unemotional throughout the whole experience so there was no need for this behaviour. At the very least, they should have listed the suit with a clear "Sold As Is" on the tag but they either didn't inspect the suit before putting it out for sale or just tried to hide the damage. If an eBay seller tried this stunt they wouldn't last a week as a seller. If an item is listed as "sold as is" the buyer accepts that the item has damage. I accept that. But for a seller to try to sell something that is majorly damaged and not warn a buyer beforehand is just wrong. Bad form. Bad attitude. Who needs this?

There is a reason this wonderful shop has been in business for so long. It is because they are great. No where else will you be able to find custom displayes for that piece of Americana, music, etc. The owner and staff are some of the best in the business. I HIGHLY consider it worth your visit.
