6.Fred & Murrys Kosher Delicatessen Restaurant & Caterers
4345 US Highway 9
Established in 1960 on Ralph Avenue in Brooklyn, New York, Fred & Murry's has stood for quality and tradition for almost half a century. In 1981, brothers Fred and Murry Chalnick and brother in-law Morty Lupowitz ventured across the Verrazzano Bridge into the then uncharted wilderness of Central New Jersey. Keeping true to the principles they were originally founded on, Fred & Murry's Kosher Delicatessen, Restaurant, & Caterers celebrates 26 years in New Jersey in 2007, still grounded on the traditions, quality commitment to customer service, and friendly atmosphere established so many years ago. When Fred, Murry and Morty retired in 1997, their two nephews, Shawn and Dan Richelson took over the reins and now carry the kosher deli business into the next generation. From the on-premises pickled corn beef, still hand cut fresh daily French fried potatoes, to the matzo ball soup exactly the way you remember it as a kid, we invite you to relax, feel at home, maybe try something you you've never had before or enjoy an old time favorite. Whatever your tastes may be, we invite you to enjoy the unique experience only at Fred & Murray's.

This place has very good deli. I gave it 5 stars on the chopped liver which was close to homemade. The pastrami was very good. It is a little pricy, but you get what you pay for. The portions are not what legends are made of, but this is Brooklyn. Who needs a huge portion anyway?

I just love eating there. The food is always good, service impeccable and it's open super late. I came there last summer at 11:15 pm and they still seated us and were very nice, not trying to push us out of the restaurant like most other places open late do. I would recommend La Surprise, le Steak au Poivre or la Cote de Boeuf. I never tried any fish there, but I guess it would be a heresy to try one at such a great meat place. The French fries are perfect, crusty and light, and the bread they serve is the closest I found in kosher restaurants to a Parisian baguette. They have an extensive wine list and the desserts are very fine, without being fantastic. A much better deal than Solo.

17.Naomi's Kosher Pizza & Israel Falafel

I'm not jewish, but I live in a jewish neighborhood and let me tell you.....this is the BEST pizza I've ever had in my life. Too bad they can mix it with any meat, but then again a pizza this tasteful doesn't need any toppings.

M&H is a delightful place that reminds me another small intimate place in Berlin. If you have reservation, forget about your stupid blackberry and other fake showoff and enjoy a lovely night with your loved ones. Be open to try new drinks because you will not get any traditional vodka cranberry. Our host was lovely, calm and helpful. I ordered whiskey with fresh blackberries. The drink was flawless from the way it was served ( lowball with crashed iced) to the right amount of each ingredient ( sour sweet but strong enough to be happy at the end of the night). The decor in the place is dark and mysterious and adding the jazz music you feel as part of a scene from a Film Noir. I would not recommend this place to everyone since each drink is $15 and the whole buzz number/reservation can be annoying for some people but it's def one of my favorite place.\r \r

The food here is pretty good, a bit on the pricey side. I really like the falafel! Salads were pretty cool too.

I've gone here numerous times for dinner. The food is good for fast food kosher. I recently decided to "get out of my routine" and ordered new dishes on the menu, enjoyed them. The service was quite good and I would certainly recommend it.
24.Glatt Kosher Shawarma

I was hungry for something that would fill me up and people are always telling me to try the place since I mostly go out for Pizza. Hey I'm a fan of Pizza. I was not impressed when I first walked in to the place, they were getting ready for the lunch crowd. There was one person on line if front of me and they politely asked for me to be patient because they were getting ready. The staff was pleasant and both me and the other customer were served. I chose to take it back to work. I could really smell the food even though it was properly wrapped and after sitting down I got to try it. The portion was decent, then again Kosher food usually is, and the food tasted good. I will certainly try this again soon, but to be honest I'm going for pizza tomorrow.
25.Pupa Kosher Butcher

I like their selection and customer service, clean food and very tasty!! Very nice atmosphere overall!

If you are looking for a good kosher take out, or eating in this is a good place to do so. Quick service, good food, normal prices, and they are always polite. Try the Chebureki Special, and of course, the kebabs. When ordering French Fryes be careful with the amount of garlic they put.... If you love garlic then it all good, otherwise ask in advance for not giving you any. I buy take out mosty from them about 3-4 times a month. Enjoy!
27.Fine & Schapiro
138 W 72nd St
Kosher RestaurantsDelicatessensCaterersTake Out Restaurants
This is an authentic old school neighborhood kosher deli dating back about 80 years, when the Upper West Side was home largely to first generation Jewish people from Eastern Europe. They've lasted that long without being featured in movies and without the benefit of the tourist market for one reason: the food is damn good. While the atmosphere is a bit spartan, it's been renovated recently, the place is clean and the pastrami and such are as good as if not better than any other, more famous or glitzy deli in NYC. If you're on the UWS, there is no other deli that comes close in terms of authenticity and quality. PS While not as famous as the Theater District delis or where Harry met Sally, there is a celebrity connection. Fine & Schapiro is a favorite of some well-known Upper West Siders whose photos you can see behind the counter, and who stop by in person on occasion as well.

The food here is not exciting but it is decent. I've been here several times and the service has been quite good. Not worth going out of your way for but if you want a decent unpretentious meal, this is a good place.

Perhaps it is unfair to give this restaurant a one star rating, considering I did not eat there. My girlfriend and I were stumbling around this neighborhood looking for something to eat one night when we happened upon this establishment. There are no windows so it is impossible to tell what was inside, and the sign outside is nondescript. When we walked in, we were glared at by the hostess, who said not a word: she waved a menu toward the back of the room after we asked if we could be seated. The place smelled of baby p uke and cabbage. We quickly left. While the smell was somewhat offputting, the atmosphere was noxious. I don't like feeling like I'm not wanted in a public place, and that is exactly what happened.
30.Elizabeth One Stop Kosher

One worker didnt know they had tables or a sit-down restaurant. The waiter was nasty and spoke in a foreign language in front of us. We had two of the smallest most tasteless pastrami sandwiches we have ever been served. You couldn't drag me into that unbelievably filthy place unless you hit me with a taser first. They forgot to serve us the chips that come with the sandwiches and served new pickles when we requested sour ones
