Harris 24hr Tire & Road Service
The fact that these people say they are a 24 hour service is a joke I waited for 2.5 hours then when the service Tech finally showed up he sat in his truck for an additional 10 minutes Talking on his phone when he finally got out of his truck he walked over without any tools he was not well dressed and to did not represent his company to the best-of his ability he did not want to shake me nor my nephews hands, then he proceeded to take 45 minutes to change the tire off the rim. After all of this was done he sat back in his truck for another ten minutes and honked the horn of his truck to summon us over to him to sign an outlandish ticket of over 300 dollars for a small trailer tire. This is a crook and someone that should neither be trusted nor believed as he isn't truthful. If it was possible, I would rate this service business with a negative 5 star rating as he was absolutely horrid.

Lakes Apartments
I am the new manager, (since mid-March 2016). We have been remodeling, cleaning up and are now working with Florida Pest Control. Our tenants are mostly working people, clean and quiet. We have the very lowest pricing, free cable, with very high speed wifi available from Comcast. We do welcome your dog, if it is clean, healthy and house trained, depending on the breed. We do not accept cats. We have zero tolerance for drugs, noise, drama or any other shenanigans. This is the new place to live in Lake City. Laundry Facilities coming soon!

I have been a resident here for six months now. I am impressed with the complex. What impressed e the most was the residential security checks of all future residents and the middle to low income requirements to qualify for residency. Beautiful amenities and great knowlageable staff.

Mane Performance
Excellent service and very nice and friendly staff! They worked me in for a same day cut and went out of their way to fit me in. Extremely knowledgeable and made my hair look exactly like the picture that I chose (with a slight variation to account for my natural wave-thank goodness hairstylists know how to handle that!) I was extremely pleased and highly recommend this salon!

Steve Wheeler Automotive
My son's car broke down on the way back to FSU and Steve Wheeler Automotive was the closet service garage that worked on VW's. He was told by the tow truck driver that his wife and daughter both owned VW's and he would take them no where else to get services. The next morning I gave Steve a call and he informed me that the vehicle's engine was damaged. He suggested I not make the investment into a vehicle that had 132k miles. His professional advise was extremely candied and provide me excellent information without charging me for the diagnostic process. I would highly recommend Steve Wheeler's Automotive as a business with integrate. I would gladly suggest his services to anyone needing auto repair within the Lake City, Fl area.
Tips & Advices
Among the common scams pulled are needless repairs, where a garage charges you for work that isn't necessary. Another popular one is attracting customers through a cheap oil change or tire pressure check. Then, when you your car is being repaired, they give you a long list of other corrections they'd like to make, therefore boosting the total cost of your bill. The best way to combat these types of problems is getting a written estimate before work is done so you can see how much repairs are expected to cost. If the final bill is higher than the estimate projected, ask to specifically see the work. Make sure information is put in writing as well. If a problem remains, you can have proof that work was not done to your satisfaction.
For winter driving, features such as the defroster, heater and exhaust system are paramount. Look in your owner's manual for specific directions on how features should be checked and repaired. Many newer cars have a cabin air filter that can be replaced when needed, allowing warm air to continue to flow in. Also, check tires before winter driving, as they need to be at the proper pressure to perform well on snow and ice.
In the spring and summer, you want to be sure your air conditioner and cooling systems work correctly. Given the high temperatures, overheating is a common problem. Look over the system by ensuring there is enough coolant available. If it needs to be refilled, it is best to open the hood and add more to the car before it gets too warm out. Also, clean out fan ducts and other ventilation sources necessary for summertime driving.
Some fixes to your car can be done without paying a specialist. Issues like replacing oil and air filters are relatively simple, with instructions provided in the owner's manual on how to make these changes. The same goes for replacing broken windshield wipers or burnt-out headlights. Such issues should be repaired quickly to guarantee safety, but don't require a visit to a garage.
Yes. Not every type of auto repair work needs to be done by a certified mechanic. You can fix some of a vehicle's issues just by paying attention to how the automobile is running and having a basic understanding of auto repair. Look over the ways weather may impact your car and what preventative measures you can take to avoid having to take it into the shop.
