after reading the reviews on here i was really a lil worried but not too worried to not book a room. I made the reservation over a month ago and called the day before i left and made sure they had it. THEY DID. We were hot and exhausted from driving from DFW (Texas) to Baton Rouge and then back to Lafayette and walked into a very clean lobby with a very polite person at the desk. They found the reservation pretty quickly and gave us our keys to #118. We opened the door and it smelled very very good for a smoking room and everything was very very clean. i checked everything the second i got there.. under the bed, the drawers, the bath tub, the floors.. everything was spotless.. even the nooks and crannies of the blow dryer were extremely clean. We had no issue whatsoever. No loud people, no rudeness, absoluetly no complaints. The best part? the a/c was already on when we entered our room so it was a pleasent relief from the humidity. The only thing that sucked was the pool was closed but then again there were thunderstorms on the way so i don't really blame them. I love this motel and would recommend it to everyone i know. As a matter of fact, we are booking another room for August as soon as i finish writing this review!!
I lived here 2 years and always had a problem. The foundation is weak and has many holes in the floor, I can literally here everything that goes on above me and when my neighbors take a shower or use the faucet. My AC vent always leaked on the floor non stop, even after they "fixed it". My kitchen vent molded and behind my washer was molded also. Bees and any other insects easily made their way in through closed windows and also built hives, I could never enjoy my living room or balcony because they took over. The pest guy supposedly comes every 3 to 4 months but the 3 years I've stayed here, I've seen him only 2 or 3 times. The price is also high for no reason, many things are out dated and do not work properly. Do not recommend at all!I can say that the staff is pretty friendly though.
I lived at Grand Pointe for 5 years. It seemed like the office staff was a revolving door. Some were nice and competent but many were rude and incompetent. The office is often closed during their posted office hours, and it is difficult to get someone on the phone. When you move out, they will try to charge you for everything little thing they can. You can scrub the apartment from top to bottom, and they will find something to charge you for. If you have a few stains on the carpet (which I would think is normal after 5 years), they will charge you $1000 to replace the carpet. The gates are often broken, and people don't clean up after their pets. Think very carefully about moving in here.

This is the greatest restaurant to locate in Lafayette in a long time. The food and the quality of service is outstanding. There are many items to choose from on the menu, and each item is a good value. We have made five visits in the short time they have been open. Do not be disappointed if there is a slight wait. It is often shorter than quoted and the food and service is worth it. Some items to try... bourbon glazed salmon, lasagna with meat sauce, chicken and waffles, steaks, fried catfish, onion rings, soups, and the delicious sides. The croissants are delicious. Give Cheddar's a try.
