Associated Pain Specialists
I have to admit, I read the reviews beforehand and didn't know if I wanted to keep my appointment. I was very nervous and went in with bad expectations. I was pleasantly surprised when the staff was all very helpful and friendly while being professional. No I didn't get medication on my first visit but I had some left from a prescription and go back in 2 weeks.. All in all, the experience I had was as pleasant as a doctor's visit can be.. The way I see it, treat people with respect and you will get that in return. Since it was my first visit it did take about 2 hours and 45 minutes but that is to be expected for a first appointment...

Bellner Lisa Md
Dr. Bellner and her staff are so kind. When I go in for my appointments, I feel as if they care. They are helping me to find the best solutions for the relief of my back pain. I do not feel like Dr. Bellner is rushing to get to the next patient when she is with me. Sometimes I have had to wait a little while. However, I don't mind having to wait longer to see a Doctor that will take their time with me. This is a workman's comp injury and she still treats me with respect. I have been to Several Doctors for this injury and I cannot say the same about them.

Synergy Health System Pllc
I have been seeing Dr. Friedenstein since he was at his prior office in West Knoxville, approx. 2 years now. He has and is very patient oriented, with superior skills with the spinal nerves, disk and vertebra function and the problems that can arise from illness or injury. I trust him with the injections to help correct the injuries I sustained from an auto accident. He does not just treat the pain. He treats the person and that says a lot in my book.

Van Nes, Jaclyn B, MD
Dr. Van Nes is very compassionate and explains everything in lay terms so you can understand. She takes as much time as you need to ask questions and feel comfortable. She is gentle and caring during any procedures. Her entire staff is so caring that even in embarrassing situations they make you feel good. I could not ask for a better OB/GYN practice...They are ALL wonderful. Thank you to all.

Edmunds Meade C Md
Dr. Meade Edmunds is as fine a person as you'll ever meet! As a physician he is head and shoulders above any other Gastrointestinal doctor I've ever used. I refer everyone I can to him, because I know he will do his very best and his staff will do everything and anything they can to take care of you. He really listens, I've never felt rushed in anyway. Just an excellent experience!

Knoxville Integrated Healthcare
Needs Improvement! I just wish they would answer the phone!!! Staff is very kind but organization is needed. Doctors are not personable. Praying for a change!!! * Do note they are going thru a transition to move.* I am still hopeful.

Testerman, M Chris, MD
I absolutely LOVE Dr. Testerman, she was recommended by the therapists at Patricia Neal Rehab Center (they really know their stuff ) and I was not disappointed. She is one of, if not the best in the state and country in her field.

Tips & Advices
This depends on the facility. Patients should call to find out if they'll need a referral from their physician prior to making an appointment.
Aside from hyperbaric oxygen treatment, most wound care centers offer:
  • Debridement: The removal of dead skin and tissue surrounding the wound. This can be done surgically, using a whirlpool bath, syringes, enzymes that dissolve the tissue, or wet dressings that dry on the wound and absorb the dead tissue.
  • Dressing: Wrapping the wound in a protective film, gauze, gel, or foam.
  • Compression stockings: Tight-fitted fabric sheaths that encourage blood flow.
  • Artificial skin: A covering that is applied to the wound for several days as it heals.
  • Ultrasound: The use of sound waves to promote healing.
  • Growth factor therapy: The use of materials naturally produced by the body to encourage quick cell growth.
  • Negative pressure therapy: Creating a vacuum around a wound to encourage faster blood flow to the area.
Depending on where the treatment is administered, hyperbaric oxygen treatment  can cost $100- $1,000. After insurance is applied, patients may have a copay of $10 -$50 or a coinsurance fee of 10 percent to 50 percent.
Most wounds should heal within two to six weeks. An individual should seek chronic wound treatment if a wound has not begun to heal after two weeks or is not completely healed after six.
Most health insurance plans cover wound care. Patients should check with the clinic and their health insurance provider before seeking treatment to be sure.
