Moore's Landscaping
Our new house had a problem with the lawn not being graded correctly. When it rained a major portion of our front yard would have water pooled for a couple of days. It ended up killing the sod. We tried contacting several companies and had problems with them answering calls, returning calls, and showing up for appointments. Tim Moore (yes - your talking to the owner) answered the first time we called and we were able to set up an appointment for the next day. Tim showed up for the appointment on time and explained to us what needed to be done and gave us options for how to accomplish it. We ended up having Moore's Landscaping correct the drainage problems and re-sod our entire yard. Tim gave us a written contract. They did a fantastic job. The lawn looks great and they fixed the drainage issues. They honored the contract price even though there were delays (not their fault in any way) that had to have cost them time and money. Moore's Landscaping is very professional, honest, a local company, and I highly recommend them. We already have them lined up for a second job.

I did business with Proscapes a few years back and was very pleased with the project results, costs and their staff. Once a company has earned my business with great work at a reasonable cost, I am loyal with continued patronage and gladly recommend them to others! That is why when I needed to inquire about upgrading my project I did not hesitate to contact Proscapes again! I did not even consider contacting anyone else.I am not sure what happened in the interim, but the Proscapes I originally dealt with and the one I recently encountered were quite opposite from each other. The employee I encountered who answers their phones operates in a less than forthright, unprofessional manner. It is quite concerning to the average person when some one encounters a dishonest individual who misrepresents one's communications. I attempted to communicate with management but they did not seem interested since I never heard back from them. It is unfortunate to have to go and find another landscaper, but no one should have to be subjected to unprofessional or dishonest treatment.

Good Communicator and did a decent job on the retaining wall. My one complaint is "HE made the decision to plant the grass seed on the day there was a big storm coming". To say the least, during the storm it looked like the muddy mississippi. Said he would make it right after all top soil and seed were washed away. We take pride in our yard and even overseeded again with the same seed but without any topsoil and after applying weed-and-feed and water at the proper times all we ended up with was crabgrass. In the end, I am extremely disappointed he took no resposibility and said he can't fight Mother Nature when it was his decision to apply the seed on the day the storm was coming so he could rush to another job. All other services and communication was satisfactory. Disappointed was not a man of his word when he said he'd make it right originally after the storm. He blamed it on Mother Nature and suggested I obtain a lawn service. I'll apply top soil and seed myself.

Acadia Landscape
Awesome to work with! They redid the pavers on my old patio and took care of all my water woes! Did exactly as they promised in the time frame the we discussed. Highly recommend. Had them come back and install a french drain and take care of another water runoff issue! Phil and crew are the only ones I would use!l

Acadia Landscape
Phil and his team at Acadia Landscape are wonderful guys! I am a volunteer coordinator for CAC Office on Aging, and Acadia regularly donates their time, equipment, and manpower to cleanup low-income seniors yards. They offer their services for free and give up part of their Saturday's to help keep these local seniors in their homes. Even on volunteer projects, they do a professional job - paying attention to the smaller details and leaving the yard looking beautiful! The guys work quickly, efficiently, and with a smile. I am very happy to have met Phil and the Acadia team. They are not only fantastic landscapers; but they also, care about the community they live in.

Volunteer Lawn Inc
The worst lawn company out there! They charge for services you don't ask for and then threaten you if you won't pay for something you never wanted in the first place plus their service is atrocious. They don't mow your entire yard- only parts of it and then bill you for it and will not come correct it. Do NOT recommend. Use someone else. There are lots of great lawn companies in Knoxville, Check their RipOff Reports and Google plus reviews they are HORRIBLE!

Grassmasters Lawn Pro's
I called for a quote on my grass. They gave me a good price but then 2 months in told me they would have to raise my price because I did not get them any business from my neighbors. This was never the understanding, but I did talk them up. I agreed to raise it $10 a week which they agreed to. Then after mowing one time they stated if I could not secure their services for our Home Owners Association work which I was trying to help them get they would not come back out to cut our lawn even at the new negotiated price. Think twice before working with this company.

Tim Moore of Moore's Landscaping has done a wonderful job for me. My place has never looked this good-from the fabulous raised beds made with the new stone- like pavers to the finishing touches of fine mulch and great landscaping. All employees were skillful and polite. I have many more plans and Tim Moore has my vote to handle the job. Suzy Skeen Lenoir City

Tim Moore was fantastic in producing the vision I had for our landscaping and walkway. This is the second time we have used his services and will not be the last!!
Tips & Advices
Employers must conduct all required training in a language and vocabulary that workers can understand. Training must demonstrate the hazards of operating certain machinery, like stone cutters and splitters, as well as how to use them appropriately. It's important to verify that your landscape contractor has taken the necessary steps to fully train its personnel and that the appropriate safety precautions are in place.
Check the specific regulations for your area, and verify that your contractor has the necessary licenses. These may include a state contractor's license, pesticide license, CDL driver's license and license to sell and purchase nursery stock.
Landscape work is not cheap, so it's in your best interest to make sure that it's done to your requirements and that you get the best contractor to do the job. Homeowners should know how much they'll need to pay for the contractor's service as well as how they will be billed for this work. Ask about any design fees, if quoted prices are fixed or estimates, and what the payment process will be. Clarifying these items in the beginning will prevent any surprise expenses.
Yes. Homeowners should require that the contractor submit certificates verifying compliance with safety, insurance, workers' compensation and drug and alcohol testing programs. This will give you peace of mind that the contractor has gone through all the steps under industry regulations.
Yes. Every good contractor should have a list of recently completed jobs that you can see in their portfolio. They should also have a list of references that you can contact, or properties that you can see in person.
