Delta Locksmith
After we had our cars broken into, right in the driveway, we thought it wise to start locking the security doors. We hadn't ever used the locks so we found the key and proceeded to lock the door. Well, the lock didn't work and I ended up breaking the key off in the lock. Then we couldn't open the door - we were locked in! Or out. Fortunately we had another door to use (what a pain, especially with the dogs wondering why we had to use the other door). Delta locksmith to the rescue! Wow, what service! This was a real pain in the rear job and the guys had to actually remove the door in order to fix the lock. They did it efficiently, quickly and didn't break a thing. And the price was soooo reasonable. Plus, they got the other door lock working and made it so one key would work with both doors. This is the ultimate in service. If you have a lock or key need, Call These Guys!

Received a referral from Knox Car Keys. These guys (Mr. Doc Bishop in particular) did a great job of duplicating my master key. I walked in with a spare Honda Civic 2007 key with the blade made aftermarket in China and an OEM transponder from a junkyard. He promptly warned me that it might not work due to Chinese manufacturers going cheap on materials quality and transponders not being reprogrammableSo I bought an OEM spare from him. In about 20 minutes he cut and programmed both the OEM key and the Chinese knockoff. Cost to me: $98. Would have paid over $400 at the dealer. Inspired my confidence. I will recommend to everyone.

Delta Lock and Key in Knoxville, TN was great! They came out to my house when I had lost my car key and made me another in just an hour, programmed and everything! The service guy was very nice and friendly and there were NO hidden charges, just standard tax. :) We had called another locksmith fairly high ranked in Google and they wanted to charge us total $225-$280, looking more on the higher side the guy said. Please give Delta a call before submitting to an outrageous price like that, they were so reasonable, came when they said they would, and did a fantastic job!

Absolutely awesome service. My daughter lost her keys at college and they were never turned in. Phillip was able to get 2 keys made for her with the chip and work with the security system to get it all running well. He even made her a mechanical door key in case she ever locked her keys in. Price was exactly as quoted and friendly prompt service. I hope we won't need them again, but would recommend this company to anyone.

This is the first Lock Smith that popped up. He was very sweet and got us home after being there all day dude to my grandmother having surgery. Would definitely recommend them to anyone and everyone. This is a GREAT and HONEST company.

Excellent service & highly recommend Delta Locksmith! My mother locked herself out of her condo. It was at night and cold! He was prompt and fast in getting her back into the condo. We were able to get extra keys made as well as have the key work for both doors. The price was not bad at all and he was professional. Thanks again and will definitely utilize your services in the future!

From call to keys in hand....less than an hour. Wonderful customer service, great price and he did everything very quickly. We called 3 different locksmiths in the area and Delta was by far the best price. We live in a large apt complex so we will pass on this great vendor to our front office. Thanks Delta!!!!

Tips & Advices
Locksmiths-in-training can receive foundational knowledge and skills through programs offered at technical colleges or vocational schools. These would include basic courses on lock mechanics and manipulation, along with general skills like business management. From there, most trainees seek an apprenticeship, where they work alongside a professional locksmith. This allows them to gain experience in the field. It can also put them on a course toward certification.
Upon arrival to your home, a locksmith should ask you to prove that it is in fact your residence. They should also be able to unlock most common locks without requiring them to be drilled or completely replaced. Be sure to obtain an invoice that lists all charges before agreeing to pay.
  • If possible, research local locksmiths online and take note of any that have poor reviews or complaints.
  • When calling a locksmith, confirm their address matches what you found online or in a directory. Then ask for a cost estimate for the service you need, and ask to have them bring a written copy of this estimate.
  • Some states require locksmiths to be licensed. If your state is one of them, require the locksmith to bring proof of registration when they arrive.
The term locksmith traditionally referred to people who designed and built locks, but today is generally used for those who repair and replace locks. Locksmiths can be available on-call to help people if they're locked out of their home or apartment.
  • First, determine the type of lock you have, as well as the manufacturer or model if possible. You should also obtain measurements of your door and frame.
  • Remove exterior and interior knobs by unscrewing any visible screws you find. Many knobs will include a decorative cover on the interior side that can be removed.
  • Once you've removed the entire lock, find the screws on the inside of the door frame to remove the latch or deadbolt.
  • With everything removed, repeat these steps in reverse order to install the new lock.
