If you have kids, small pets, or common sense, please read on. This is a property owned by Kirby Davis of Nashville, TN and currently managed by Mara Martin & Deanna Hill district manager. Fire Marshall removed 4-5 gasoline containers from balconies on the property AFTER I requested patio inspections. On another visit ordered firewood to be removed from stairs. This place is LOADED with spiders including brown recluse! I woke up one morning with a huge red bite/rash on my side! See photos I posted! Guy walks around property with a huge stick & pit bull. Property was filled with abandoned cars, boats, trailers when I first moved in. Staff/Contractors park in handicapped areas. Dead trees on the property that you can literally see through. Highly flammable naturally occurring pine needles everywhere, plus landscaping company brought bales in! Google "Pine straw fire hazard".Pool area has no bathroom, so guess where little junior and sally are probably going to urinate rather than spoil the fun and trek back to the apartment? Raised wood deck was put over top of original concrete, and who knows what is under there gathering besides cigarette butts. Unleashed dogs are a chronic problem here. If you have a small animal, be aware, I documented several at large dogs like German Shepherds, Siberian Huskys unleashed on the property.The gym is disgusting beyond belief! The week I moved out, I had a man working on a deck that started literally chasing after me yelling at me while I was walking for exercise while the cleaning crew was telling him NO,NO.. I had to call 911. He told officers that he chased after me because he "thought" I was scoping out his truck, which I had not even gone near! Totally outrageous, and he was working there the next day despite his inappropriate behavior. I had caught him two hours earlier taking photos of me with his phone as I was leaving to meet someone for lunch. Super creepy and he was allowed to come back and work!Much effort is spent on the landscaping and planting flowers in an effort to distract from what I previously mentioned.Sadly, there are worse places to live than this, but if you can afford to pay a little more in rent, I would strongly advise doing so. Obviously a normal business would have fired people for not noticing 4-5 gas containers on patios. Hopefully the recent fire down the road was a wake up call, and they will start inspecting the patios and apartments for prohibited items!P.S They have a lame excuse/explanation for everything or ignore. Example, saw a review complaining about mosquitos, they reply and say they keep the property free of standing water, which is false. Gutters are clogged and overflowing and mosquitos breed there. Also, they have all kinds of crap thrown behind the maintenance storage building! Have photos to prove it!
All they want is your money. You will be quickly presented with a confusing contract and then jacked up with hidden fees. They want you to see the BS ammenities they offer. You will hate it here. And if you do decide to live here, hire a lawyer to look over the contract with you.
It was INFESTED with roaches. After contacting our landlord multiple times we ended up buying 50$ of roach killer, never reimbursed. Repeatedly asked for screens to be put into our windows, never happened. They tore out our floors and left for two weeks. Our electricity bill was 50$ extra because of the lack of finishing the floor so all the cold air was coming into our apartment for well over 30 days. They told us to basically get f-ed. all four of us were charged 300$ in move out fees. They would show up and begin to give tours of our apartment with 20 minutes notice. I have never experienced such unprofessionalism, disrespect, and disregard for tenants. If you have to move in here do not go through craigslist cause private owners do not give a crap about you all they want is your money. If you must live here go through the office they may be less likely to BS you. If I could give less stars I would.Also our carpet was infested with flees so good luck to you and your pets
If your a city dwellar like me and your looking for a inexpensive & quiet apartment complex that offers many floorplan options as well as ample amount of space to walk the dog look no further than Hillwood Villas. This complex is really a rare gem in this town tucked away close to ijams and very well maintained. I highly recommend a looksie if your in the market for a new place
I've lived in these apartments for almost 3 years now,and still love my place as much I did when when I moved in. Management have always been extremely kind and professional. Any issues are delt with quickly. Very mellow area and a killer price for what u get!
I have lived here for 7 years and this place has really gone down hill in the past 3. I have been unable to move due to school zoning and the fact that summer of 2016 will be relocating out of knoxville after my daughter graduates. Rent goes up every time you sign your new lease, if you have a maintenance issue you are treated like a bother, the floors are all slanted, the "upgrades" are cheap. I have always paid my rent on time, never had a complaint and take excellent care and pride in my apartment. When we had a serious issue with a water leak and mold issue last year and asked for compensation for items damaged by their neglect, we were told no and they will not renew our lease when it is up. This is how they treat good tenants. Not sure why except they house A LOT of State disabled persons with care takers, I mean a lot! Apparently they get more rent? I don't know, but these are my true experiences and things I have seen.
Aside from a parking issue they hate company, Joe will enter your home unannounced, don't rent there
I didn't live there but somewhere else! I'm told no one gets their damage deposit back. the apartment was left in great condition after my mother's death but they kept every penny! My disabled elderly mother lived there for sometime.she often complains of never getting her phone calls returned or repairs done. She has to go over head just to get a working stove.the air quality was so bad respacare wanted her to move for her health.everything we remove from her apartment smells like smoke from the previous tenant.I'm sure this will probably get deleted lol I can't be the first to write a review...
DO NOT MOVE HERE!!!.THEY ARE RIP OFFS AND SHADY....WE HAVE BEEN HERE OVER 4 YEARS AND ONLY SEEN THE OWNER ANNE LAWRENCE MAYBE 3 TIMES ...EVERYTHING INCLUDING RENT PAID GOES STRICTLY THROUGH OUR MAINTANCE GUY DARRIN WHICH SAYS NO TO FIXING ANYTHING .. WE HAVE NO HEAT IN ANY ROOMS BUT OUR ROOM AND THAT DOESNT EVEN WORK RIGHT!!WHEN PROBLEMS ARISE WITH THE ANY OF THE TENANTS DARRIN WILL NOT DO ANYTHING BUT WATCH OR RUN AND HIDE..... THERES SO MANY THINGS TO LIST..... WHERES OUR MONEY REALLY GOING? ... WERE PAYING 575 A MONTH AND ITS ONLY WORTH AROUND 450 THE MOST... THIS IS THE WORST PLACE TO LIVE .......
