I've been a regular at Capt. Tony's for at least the past 9 years at the annual Fantasy Fest celebration and Capt. Tony's was chosen by the ""Krewe"" I belong to for our nightly hosting and get-togethers. This is due to the friendly, helpful and fun people working there plus it's nice to see Capt. Tony sitting in his chair near the door of the gift shop welcoming people.\r \r I always get my chest signed by the Capt. when I get bodypainted in Key West for Fantasy Fest and there may be a piece of two of my clothing (along with one of my special business cards) on the ceiling where you will find everything from license plates to dollar bills and from bras to business cards.\r \r Also, Capt. Tony was generous enough to offer the Saloon for one of the nightly themes at Fantasy Fest which occurs on Tuesday nights and it is called ""Plaid Night"" (where everyone wears as much, or as little, plaid costumes as possible). Nice offering.\r \r Capt. Tony's has a variety of drinks and all of them are reasonably priced and you can get a souvenir plastic cup if you wish also. The bartenders always seem to have a smile and be sure to check out the name of the famous person on the bar stool seat.\r \r There are bands or solo artists at various times and a dance floor for those that can't sit still.\r \r There is an area devoted to billards and both benches and table/chairs to enjoy the music or people watch whether there is an event in town or not.\r \r A small gift shop area provides some additional souvenirs.\r \r One ""tradition"" at Capt. Tony's--at least during Fantasy Fest--is standing outside the bar facing the street and under the large grouper fish above the bar's sign on the front wall. From there, you try to toss a set of beads over your head (without looking) and see if you can ""hook"" the fish. I've never been so lucky,\r \r All in all, Capt. Tony's is my favorite spot in Key West, Fantasy Fest or not, and I, The TravelSlut?, highly recommend it.\r \r TTS

My wife and I have been going to Eden for over 8 years. We love being able to dance clothing optional style. We have meet so many interesting people and had such great times. Out last visit was 8/29/08 and it was wonderful. Drinks are resonable and the staff treats eveyone with respect. They even take care of trouble makers is a way that keeps things calm. Please come by when in Key West. You will enjoy your self and the others you meet.

Jose's Cantina is a wonderful little hole in the wall. Don't go expecting anything fancy, as you will not find it here. What you will find is delicious, succulent Cuban food, just like abuela used to make. We ordered the ropa vieja (shredded beef) and it was simply amazing. We also had the fried pork chunks; decadent, yes, but oh so good. The side dishes included maduros (fried ripe plantains), yellow rice and black beans, and all were uniformly tasty.\r \r Service is good, if curt. The staff's English is by no means perfect, but easy enough to understand. Portions were large enough to fill those of with a hefty appetite, and the prices are competitive for Key West (~$30 for two entrees, an appetizer and beverages). All in all, you can't find better (or more authentic) Cuban food in the Keys.

Looking for a place to buy liquor for my hotel room, I was told about this little ""dive bar""/liquor store. With all the bars in Key West and we checked them all out in our 10 days in Key West, The Bottle Cap has the best music, dance floor and everyone that works there was extremely friendly. We had more fun there than any other bar in Key West! Great atmosphere, cozy couches and semi-private seating makes it great for a couple or your whole crew!!

Very disappointed! I came here a few weeks ago and had a nice quiet dinner. Tonight I came back and was told they did have a table for me. As I looked around the restaurant I saw SEVERAL open tables and a couple small enough for one. The host didn't even offer to add me to a waiting list or ask if I was interested in eating at the bar. My attire was typical Kew West attire (not fancy) but so were most of the others as I could see. I'll take my unlimited business dinner budget elsewhere.

When you're in Key West and you want to get a feel for the atmosphere you need to go to Duval St., and on Duval St. there aren't too many places better to take it all in than under an umbrella table at Fogarty's. Seating is ample, the food is good (much better than Margaritaville) and a huge advantage is that they are attached to Flying Monkey's Bar... You've probably never had alcohol quite like this before (Slurpee style), and about 15 flavors to choose from. If you make it to Fogarty's, be sure to try the shrimp club sandwich, I've had dreams about that thing while sitting in NY counting the days until my next Key West trip. :)

My wife and I had what was quite possibly the best meal of our lives here today at lunch. I'm not sure the perfectly attentive server's (Angie) recommendation was even on the menu, but we ordered the lobster roll at her suggestion. Wow! It was 2:30 and we were the only patrons in this second story restaurant, sitting at a two-top next to the windows overlooking Garrison Bight Marina here in Key West. We started with a brand of Thai beer we'd never had before called Chang, and it was great. We were looking over the very extensive menu when our waitress told us the lobster roll was good, and I had been jonesin' for a sushi roll all afternoon. I was wary of getting a Japanese dish at a Thai restaurant, but the other sushi houses in town had closed at 2 p.m. until dinnertime. I had only eaten the tasty pad thai the other times I had dined at Thai Island. Thai (that's his name), the friendly sushi chef, presented us with the prettiest plate of food I've ever been served. It tasted even better than it looked. Beautifully fried sweet lobster tail in a perfect batter... not sure I'd call it tempura... Some of the fried lobster was in a roll of avocado and rice, with roe and a sprig of asparagus inside, drizzled with a spicy mayonnaise. More fried lobster chunks were waiting for us in the empty tail shell... An umbrella made from lemon peel and an toothpick... Beds of finely shredded cabbage... A complimentary seaweed salad... Scorpions carved of oranges... An extra complimentary bowl of miso soup beforehand, since the two of us were sharing this feast... Maybe they were just happy for something to do because no one else was there in the middle of the afternoon, but we were treated like royalty. What sweet people they are at Thai Island. Unbelievably good lobster roll. Very good pad thai on previous visits. The lobster roll was 27 bucks (definitely big enough to share) and Thai beers were $4.50 before a modest locals' discount. My mouth is watering as I write this, six hours later.

When in Key West you simply MUST see this drag show...these ladies work so very hard and put on one elaborate show. The laughs NEVER stop with the oh-so-fabulous ""Majan"" and ""RV""...the ever-so-glamorous ""Ivana Richman"" is one seductive yet refined temptress...a trophy of a performer!! The breathtaking beauty Samantha is one sweetie NOT to be missed! I could go on and on...(Ms. Portland Oregon...YOU were Art at it's mere perfection) We spent EVERY SINGLE NIGHT at their show and each one was better than the one before...I truly HATED to leave. The food was wonderful. It's a somewhat small place that has a romantic but light feel. Mostly couples, but a few groups were there too.\r \r The service was great. While we had one waiter ""assigned"" to our table anytime we needed anything someone was there to get it for us.\r \r Not really for kids, although I suspect they are there from time to time.

As a resident of Key West for over 30 years one does not go out very often any more. But when I do, It's SHANNA KEY. As an ardent soccer lover, rather sports in general, it is by far the best place in town to watch any event. Do I have to mention their food? Wish you could see their faces who just stuffed themselves; they all look happy after their meal and that smile even brightens once they receive their bill.

I checked out Tongs Garden for Chinese take out last week and was plesantly surprised at how quickly the food arrived, how hot it was, and how great it was. Feeling like the first time might have been a fluke, I called and ordered more food a few nights later and it was awesome again. Chinese food has a tendency to have way too much salt, and while I'm sure the sodium count was fairly high, the food didn't taste overly salty. The Boneless Spare Ribs were actually tender, the steamed Vegetable Dumplings were tender and had great flavor, and the Egg Drop Soup was boiling hot right out of the carton....even the Crab Rangoon appear to be home made. I have used several other chinese take-outs and this one seems to be a cut above the rest. If you enjoy Chinese, this one is a winner. Dan in Key West

While in Key West, we located this restaurant by a phone application, and decided to give it a shot. Finding it could have been easier, and we ended up on the back side of the building to enter. It looked at first as though we were going to have to walk through a cooler, but this wasn't the case. The dining area and front side of the restaurant are very clean and nautically themed. The waitress that we had kept us full on tea by leaving us a pitcher, which was just what we wanted. I had the stone crab claws, which we excellent and just what I had been craving. The Captain's Platter can feed two with ease, and the Key Lime Pie (that is made on Marathon) is delightful. We all felt like our server made the dinner even better than it could have been, and this has been our favorite restaurant. Prices are very reasonable, especially for the type of dining that you find in this area.
