Please DO NOT support these guys! This was the WORST experience I’ve ever had in Key West. My wife and I travel to Key West regularly and even got married here. On our last night in town, we were having a lazy night and figured we’d try Mr.Z’s because it was conveniently located a few blocks away, what a mistake!! I ordered two cheesesteaks for carry-out and as soon as I signed my CC receipt, the guy at the counter slammed his drawer, screamed “Happy New Year” and started complaining to the other cooks that I didn’t tip him. First off, it was carry-out, and second I had just ordered my food totaling $15. Then, a girl sitting at the counter (girlfriend maybe) came over and said “nice tip buddy”. I know it is a tourist based economy and tips are encouraged, but I hadn’t even gotten served yet. Aren’t you supposed to tip based on level and quality of service? These guys expected a tip regardless of anything and didn’t even wait until I picked up my food to start blatantly complaining about it. How did they know I wasn’t going to throw them a few bucks when I picked up my food, which is when I would give a tip! I hope it was worth losing a customer. We will NEVER go back!
Uniquely appointed interior of restaurant. Three of us went there for dinner March 28th,2013, our 1st time there. WAITED for server. Placed order. I ordered the $15.00 raviolla. When it came there were 13 squares of the raviolla in tomato pasta sauce. The sauce had to be straight from the can. The bread was chewey and tasteless. The salad was barley sufficient to be a salad. The service was fair at best. Our server was one attractive young Latina with silver piercings. She brought out one entree 1st, then the other 2 entrees, THEN the salads. We finally got out of there for about $86.00 --- and that is with only water to drink, no alcohol or carbonated drinks. Man, have you ever felt Really ripped off ? I did as I paid the whole bill... None of us were happy with the service or the food.. For a fairly new business they sure have a lot to learn. With the nice decor it could be a great place for a nice Italian restaurant.. I hate to leave any type of negative report on any business but in this case I elt compleed to... Sad, but we will Never return.. Tom Herron, Costa Rica
I’m shocked the manger tonight, 1/23/13, was fine with losing a customer over $1.00. The menu has all draft beers at $5.00 and $1.00 off for Happy Hour. Drafts are now $5.50 normal pricing. My tab said $4.50 each for 2 beers. I asked what was up with the $1.00 discrepancy and the manager just said it was a out of date menu. I said, what are you going to do and she said, nothing. Another words, tuff luck for me. No offer of any kind. If it was too much work to fix in the register, I’m thinking offer something, maybe a short draft beer, anything to make the customer happy. It was not my mistake.I’m thinking this is pretty lame and maybe even stupid on the part of the manager when this is a fairly new business only about six months old. I will not be going back this trip of about another month in a half here in Key West. There are too many choices to have to put up with lame managers who apparently do not care about keeping patrons happy.I have to admit though the bartender was a sweet heart, and the pizza was pretty good. Prices were not too bad considering it is Key West.
