  • Absolutely disgusting. Ordered shrimp

Absolutely disgusting. Ordered shrimp teriyaki and it was hard as shoe leather. Told them up front I can't eat salad or rice so could I have some steamed veggies instead and she gave me a strange unintelligible response which I chalked up to ESL so don't get her response but she did say I could substitute. I told her that was fine as I was in a rush and really just wanted shrimp. Then when the food came she gives me lettuce and rice, so asked for veggies and she very clearly and in good English says ""no - we charge for that"" I told her that I had asked for them the first time around and she argued that normally they charge $3.00. When she caved and brought the veggies, I had eaten some shrimp but they were rock hard - told her and she eventually said she would refund me so she did, but she didn't offer to replace anything so I ate the chicken teriyaki off my son's plate - not great but not completely disgusting like mine. Never again.

  • Used to be amazing, not so much anymore.

This place used to be fantastic! Unfortunately, they changed ownership about 3-4 years ago and nothing?s been the same since. Kings used to be owned by a family (husband, wife), and you?d occasionally see the kids helping out. It was great! A very down to earth, homey feeling, they?d remember your name and would do just that little bit extra to make sure you had a nice time.

I believe they (husband, wife) sold the business to a lady that used to work there, so now her and a few other women run the joint. My family has been going there for about nine/ten years and we?ve all noticed that since the place was sold, the quality of the food and the service has become a lot worse.

For starters, the restaurant no longer has that ?family feeling? to it, but instead feels more like a fast food restaurant (get your crap and get out) sort of way. From what we?ve noticed, they are always messing up our order, or we find ?cheating? us on how much chicken or salad they would serve. In fact we just had Kings tonight for dinner, and I?m sorry to say that I think this will be the last time we go back to them.

If you really want a good dinner/meal, I would really recommend Bucks Teriyaki. It?s located on 240th, right across the street from the USPS main office. We started going there about a year or two ago and although the food is a little pricier, you get so much more bang for your buck. I would highly suggest you try the orange chicken, it?s to die for!

All in all, it?s sad when you see a place such as Kings that used to be so great fade away, but what can you do.

  • Best Teriyaki on East Hill

Excellent Sauce on Chicken. They have the best Salad dressing that I have ever had in an Asian Restaurant. You can purchase bottles of the dressing to take home. If you are planning to take-out, make sure that you call ahead. The line can be out the door on a sunny afternoon.
Clean restaurant and excellent service for dine-in or take-out.

I love Mongolian Beef, however, it has been difficult to find a really good place in Kent. One of my co-workers recommended Kings. It is by far the best place I have tried! I live in Kitsap County and have been known to drive over here, just to get lunch! Great place!!!!

  • very good Teriyaki

I've had several carryouts from this place. The food is delicious, the salad cool & crisp with a small container of salad dressing. The teriyaki comes with a small tub of teriyaki sauce. The only drawback I can think of is having to wait 5 to 10 minutes because of the steady stream of customers likely to already be in line ahead of you.

  • Greasy Food at a Premium Price

Recently moved into the area and asked our neighbors about the best teriyaki location. They recommended King's. We were impressed by the fast service and the wide variety of food on the menu, including teryaki, yakisoba and battered fish. We ordered takeout and both the yakisoba and battered fish needed to have the grease poured out of the takeout containers when we got home. Definately unappetizing. If the food had been spectacular we could have lived with it, but the fish was dry and flavorless and the yakisoba was merely ok. Not recommended.
