I've lived in the area all my life, and I used to go at least once a month. The portions are huge, which makes up for the price. The po boys, gumbo (despite other claims) and chicken are amazing. I think it's the best gumbo I have had outside of New Orleans. The food is always cooked well, but, during the week it is really crowded, and service can be a bit slow, but, it's definitely worth the wait. The resturaunt is extremely casual, it's a very down home place. The only complaint I have, is the parking lot is a bit small, and hard to get in and out of, most don't know about the parking lot in the back, which makes things a lot easier!

It's about a 35-40 minute drive for us + the wait once you get there but it is well worth it! We've had the Stuffed Shrimp Enbrochette to start with. Mmm...to lick your fingers! My fav seafood is shrimp so I get the Jumbo Shrimp Platter which has shrimp cooked 4 different ways. I love this plate! I haven't tried their dessert but I have tried their Bloody Mary and Cosmopolitan, and they're good. If you can get a seat by the window at night it has a romantic feel to dinner.
8.Landry's Seafood House
555 Bradford Ave
We were seated promptly and during our meal, the waiter was attentive yet not hanging aroudn the table aggrivating us.\r I had the Seafood Penne di Mare and it was GREAT! I ate every bite of the leftovers I brought back to the hotel. My husband was pleased with his Jambalaya Pasta and the 3rd person with us really like his stuffed flounder. The house salad was good and I even brought the rest of that with me too.\r I can't really say anything bad about the place. We ate at a Landry's in Pensacola that was good as well.\r We are from south Louisiana, and are picky about our seafood and anything with a 'cajun' theme. Landry's did not disappoint.

The hostess was sweet, and the waiter was great, very friendly and accommodating. The manager even came by to check on us, even though the place was getting busy. Our food came out so quickly, I had just barely finished my salad. I had the panko-crusted salmon with dill tzatziki and my husband had the stuffed flounder with crab meat topping. Both came with rice pilaf and veggies (brocolli and red bell pepper) which were nothing fancy, but they were lightly seasoned and enjoyable. The fish entrees were both REALLY delicious. Even though we were full, since it was our anniversary, we also ordered strawberry cheesecake and Colonel Beauregard's Pecan Pie - - both were SO GOOD. The pecan pie was warm and had a gorgeous flavor from the bourbon and came with a scoop of vanilla ice cream. The strawberry topping on the cheesecake was the best I've ever had. It was a wonderful experience all around.

This is one of those places that is always good. Good food and the price is right. I could go on and on, but this is one of those places that you need to try. Even if you don't like Japanese food or sushi, ....just give it a chance. You can't go wrong at the hibachi and you will not believe how good the service is at this place!!!! Everything is Great!!!

My favorite thing still are the Armadillo Eggs. I have been here more than 10 times in 2015 and never got close to getting rude staff. Attentive and look you in the eye. Place gets busy so you may have to wait. But they have 3 or 4 bars so it goes by fast. Inside quiet and outside is more festive than usual. Coconut shrimp is also yummy.

We tried The Chart House for the first time last weekend, and were very impressed with the entire dining experience. From the brushed chrome stair railing, blue-carpeted staircase, and the large glass-enclosed candles burning outside the front door entrance; all the details made for a warm seaside entrance to this restaurant. Upon entering I was greeted by name by the manager and hostess (since I had made a reservation online at ""OpenTable"") They sat us immediately at our table which included a formal dinner setting with candle, and a large window gazing out onto the evening ocean. Music playing softly overhead, lent a nice sophisticated touch as well.\r Our waitress named Juile, was very prompt, helpful, and well-versed with all the menu items and specials of the day. We took her lead on trying the crab-stuffed mushroom caps, and they were really delicious. Also on our varied venture thru the menu, we ordered Oysters Rockefeller, Lobster Bisque, stuffed flounder, mahi mahi, shrimp fresca, prime rib (children's menu cut, for my daughter), and topped it off with a lobster tail added on the side. It was a huge seafood variety which the four of us healthily devoured without too much effort, save for the chocolate molten lava dessert.\r All-in-all, we found the restaurant, food, and most importantly the service, to be very charming, professional, serene, and worthy of our making many return visits as soon as we can make it back there.\r Wonderful evening, thanks to everyone at The Chart House, especially Julie.

This place is fabulous. They make burgers the old fashion way. Stacked high and a bit greasy, but that's a real burger. I get mine with grilled onions and jalapenos. Super...\r \r Corn dogs, onion rigs are great also. \r \r It's an old place so don't be loooking for pretty decorations. It's just a a great burger joint.

Valdo's on Nasa Rd. has become one of our favorite romantic and delicious seafood restaurants. It is located right next to the water, has a very romantic and quaint atmosphere with table-clothed tables, and serves the freshest seafood that can be found anywhere. Try the Fish a la Veracruzana made with filet of red snapper, a slightly spicy salsa, and slices of avocado. Or try the stuffed flounder, which is also incredibly delicious. Kayla is our preferred waitress here. She is always attentive and eager to help you with menu or wine selections.

My family and i just went to cliftons this evening and enjoyed everyting about this place. The waitstaff was fun and attentive, the restaurant was clean and had a nice diner feel to it. We found out that the place is under new ownership by some lovely people. The stuffed snapper was cooked perfectly, and there were so many choices of sides i didnt have to settle on something i did not like. The apple pie was well received by my picky eaters, ofcourse who would say no to icecream, whip cream and sizzling sauce surrounding the pie. All of this also sits right on galveston bay, so you have some of the most spectacular views. I will come back for more!!!

My wife and waited for this place to open so we could try it and it was the biggest let down ever. The food was mediocre at best. Very generic menu, and not cooked in anyway to make it stand out. I told my wife for the same type of food but better quality we should've just drove over the bridge into Kemah. All the wait staff was very young and not to in tune to what we ordered. After I finished my watered down beer, I ordered a diet coke and of course got a regular coke. Tookies spent a lot of time and a lot of money to open up a really crappy seafood place. They should've stuck with the burgers!!! NEVER GOING BACK!!!

Flies and other insects in fresh raw seafood displays. Two flies we re in the raw frogleg pan. Another insect was laying on the ice next to raw fish. Food handlers were touching different raw meats without washing hands before moving to other raw meats. The cashier handled raw fish then raw stump without glove then moved directly to the cash register where he handled money, credit cards, and canned sodas for customers. Watching this was appalling and I could not just leave without reporting the very high potential of a food born illness as a result of eating in this establishment. If I could give negative stars I would.

My mother stopped there on her way back to dallas for some shrimp. Prices were a bit steep, but that wasn't the problem. The lady told her the fish she was buying was some kind of snapper when it was clearly TILAPIA!! When she brought it home and showed we what she had bought I was furious. I have been in the seafood industry for quite some time now and I know the difference between snapper and tilapia. Do not believe anything these people tell you. They are horrible and trying to take advantage of people that don't know any better. Steer clear of this place.
