Katy Appliance Repair
Hi I am Shelley and this is my first time writing a service review, but it was such a positive experience I felt that I had to share my experience. My husband & I recently purchased a home with a 48" Viking gas range, with 6 burners. We're foodies, love to cook, and we are very familiar with Vikings. We have always wanted a Viking Range so we were very pleased to see the home we were purchasing had a great older Viking Range. This is an older stove & we're trying to see how old as to see how long will last us. We decide it would be a great idea to have it cleaned and serviced. We went online and found Katy Appliance Repair and they seemed to have great feedback and they are local so we thought we might give them a try. We set up an appointment and we were surprised to see how quickly they booked our appointment. The technician Henry showed up right on time. He was very nice and professional. He went over all of our options, and made several suggestions that ended up saving us money. Several of the parts we thought would need replaced, just need cleaned and serviced. We were surprised how affordable it was, and we were amazed at how beautiful the stove looked when he was finished. I feel like we have a brand new Viking Stove, and I could not be happier about how everything turned out. I told Henry he would have to come over for dinner one night. He laughed and said that would be great. I found Katy Appliance Repair to be a great company and I would recommend them to all of my friends. I gotta go now. I hope somebody finds all of this helpful.

Last May I was cleaning my Viking 36 Inch Built-in Outdoor Gas Grill getting it all ready for Summer when I noticed the glass that covered the thermometer on the outside of the grill that tells you what the internal temperature is. I am not sure how it got broken. I have teenagers, enough said? I questioned them all and nobody seemed to have any information about my broken thermometer. Oh well, the important thing is not who broke it, but who is going to fix it. My wife called up Katy Appliance Repair. We have used them for years to service all of our appliances. We have tried some other services in the past, but we were unhappy with all of those other companies. Once again Katy Appliance Repair came through for us. The sent a technician out named George, nice guy. Quiet but he really seemed to know his stuff. The operator who took the call took very good notes, so George showed up with the parts he needed to fix the thermometer. While he was fixing the grill he discovered that one of the gas lines had a small leak. I was so glad he found that. A gas leak can be very dangerous. It is only because he was being very thorough that he found the leak. He could have just fixed the thermometer and never even noticed the gas leak, but he took the time to check everything. That is what I call great service. That is the kind of service we have come to expect from Katy Appliance repair. That is why we call them every time we need an appliance fixed, and so should you.

We have a Kenmore 30" Electric Induction Cooktop and we have been very happy with it since purchasing it back in 2012. The other day I went to cook breakfast and neither of the left hand burners would work. I am no Repairman. My wife made me sign a pre-nup stating that I would never repair anything in our home. So she called up Katy Appliance Repair and set up an appointment for Thursday. The repair guy Dave showed up on time, and he seemed to be a really nice guy. He took a look at our unit and said he could fix it but he would need to order parts. He gave me his estimate, and it seemed very fair, so we gave him the go ahead to order the parts and do the work. He called us up 2 days later and said he had the parts and could stop by before close of day, and do the work. I told him that sounds great. He showed up at 4 and had the unit fixed in under an hour. He did a great job, and it has worked fine ever since. The whole experience was pretty painless, and it did not cost us an arm and a leg. All in all this is a great company. They work hard to get your appliance back up and running ASAP and they do it for a fee that does not break the bank. I will continue to use them in the future, and I recommend if you have an appliance that needs repaired in the Houston area, that you also give them a try.

It was the middle of the hottest part of the fall in Katy Texas when the icemaker in our Whirlpool 25 Cu. Ft. French-Door Refrigerator decided to quit working. There is no way I can exist without an ice maker. So we called up Katy Appliance Repair and told them to send somebody out as soon as possible. They had a technician out the next day early. I was so surprised. He took a look at our ice maker, and before I knew it he had it back up in running. Apparently it had just gotten jammed up. He said these refrigerators do that sometime, and he even showed me what to do if it happens again. The whole visit was over in 20 minutes and the price was so reasonable. I felt like I needed to tip the repairman because the whole thing was so cheap. Great company they are fast, reliable, affordable, and convenient. That is why I recommend them to all of my friends.

The other day my Asko Washer (model # D5434XXLS) Built-In Stainless Steel unit started making a strange noise. It was a kind of squealing sound. I found Katy Appliance Repair online with my Phone. I set-up an appointment easily using my Iphone, and they set me up for a next day appointment. The technician was friendly and on time. He took a look at my Washer, and figured out what was wrong with it right away. He had it up and running in no time. Fast, friendly, and affordable. These guys are great. I would definitely use them again.

Tips & Advices
Aftermarket replacement parts can be perfectly safe and reliable, but be sure to do your research. If replacing a more integral piece, such as washing machine’s water pump or a thermostat for a busted water heater, it might be best to purchase new.
Replacement parts generally come with warranties extending anywhere from 30 days to five years, depending on the original price, the nature of the fix and the age of the part itself.
If you’re seeking new parts repair companies will generally mark up their prices slightly--particularly at a major national retailer. However, used parts are typically discounted.
Cheaper used appliance parts can be found online or at many local, independently owned retailers, along with ecommerce sites such as eBay. Major retailers, however, generally limit their selection to unused, full-priced options.
Second-hand appliance parts are generally anywhere between 50-75% cheaper than new ones, but warranties might not extend as long and the parts may be less reliable or come with a shorter lifespan. Be sure to research the source of any second-hand parts to ensure the dealer is reputable and the part itself reliable.
