Alpine Property Management, Kansas City
I used them for about 1 year, and Cara is quite emotional. They managed my SFH's but charged too much and difficult to deal with. I will never use them again.

Calvert's Express Auto Service & Tire
Being a costumer for more than 4 years,I had the worst customer service the front desk to the store manager "Chris" the location at Shawnee Mission Pkwy just because I asked about a coupon that I have being use every time I take the car for the oil change, and that day have a few customers that saw the way the front desk and the manager had spoken with me, and some told me they false advertising the coupon and getting other away to add charges, So I call the corporate Office and told my experience and apologize and told that someone going to call me...well no one have so far I plan not going back the any Calver's Auto services anymore

Rock Garage
Very rude and unprofessional. I was quoted one price and then charged another when the work was done. No customer service and slow slow slow! Never again.

Twisted Fresh
I'm not from around here and was here for a business trip. I wanted to try something different and came across Twisted Fresh. I had the Mahi Mahi tacos and they were delicious! I would highly recommend this place!

Bethlehem Home Health Care
Bethlehem Home Healthcare is ran by a family that is a complete farce. One of the leaders within the company and the son "Philip Mabion" of the father "Raymond Mabion" that started the company recently murdered his wife and then took his own life leaving his 3 children without a mom. The acts of this "man" are a reflection of the family as a whole. This business also has had several issues with the IRS in recent years due to delinquent tax payments. They have had employees quit due to their shady business tactics and issues with running payroll on a consistent basis. Philip paid doctors under the table for patient referrals. He also claimed false appointments with patients to receive payment from the government for the services. Even through all of this, Philip was making a 6 figure income for a failing business. They take advantage of citizens within the community that typically do not have the means to pay for a reputable facility. All you have to do is go to their office and see that it is an old broke down home. Definitely not a business or the people you want to hand over the care for your loved ones to. Take this as a warning and stay as far away as you can from this business.

Above Beyond Auto Repair
I purchased their coupon book from a door to door salesman because it sounded like a great deal. Now anytime I try to schedule maintenance on my vehicle they can never fit me in after I tell them I have a coupon book! I tried three separate occasions to call in and see about an oil change. When they said they were all booked they asked if I could drop it off, and I did. There was no pen and paper at the key drop, so I had to call in the next morning and tell them my keys were there and so was my car... After that they again said they were too busy to get me in at all... Completely unprofessional. I keep trying to use this coupon book so I don't just lose out on the money I spent on it, but i keep having to go elsewhere because they won't see me! Lord knows if I'll actually be able to get any service from them...

Yarco Company Inc
i lived in bridgeport apartments in kcmo for years and my girlfriend lived there longer then me. i heard of bad experiences with yarco properties but its another thing to survive them. they do not care about the residents. they are only nice when they try to get u to sign the lease and after that its a nightmare. the lease says they can have entry to your apt whenever they want during office hours which leaves your place insecure while u work. its no problem for them to have entry but they barely fill work requests and its no coincidence u get your place broke into like the person knows exactly how to get in. it takes weeks or months to get bridgeport maintenance to even come by. there is no security force like they said it is on the website when i moved in. if it was then so many ppl wouldnt say they got there place broke into. maintenance is one old lazy guy who can only do so much by himself. and one other guy who is either on his phone using google to ask how to fix stuff or he is on the walkie talkie asking for help from the old lazy guy on the easiest things. they dont want u to fix things or get others to do it but they never really fix anything and complain the whole time they are in your place about not wanting to work. they get mad about having to come back to fix things they broke or made worse trying to fix. since maintenance fixes nothing the office manager uses that as a excuse not to give u your deposit back when u want to move out. the office never gives ppl the 300.00 credit for referring ppl. they pocket this money and find every excuse not to pay it to u and yarco ignores every problem u bring to them. these ppl are slumlord hustlers and con artists and only care about money. yarco will not help u if u contact them. they will only tell u they heard nothing from the office and tell u the manager says she had no idea about whatever u complain about. the manager kathy lies to u then lies to yarco about the lies she told to u then she lies to herself about the lies she told to both sides. its just one big circle of lies and games and they do it like pros. they get away with running the property illegally the way they do by bullying ppl till u move out and they just keep doing it to new tenants. they mastered the art of manipulating the system to stay in business. they all work together like one big happy money grubbing family. they will do and say anything to get your money keep your money kick u out on the street and ruin your credit then sucker new ppl in to do the same thing to them. its not worth it to live there and watch those leeches suck u and your neighbors dry and never fix things so they can charge u for it if u want to leave. its bad business all the way around. do not report complaints to yarco bc they will do nothing but act like it is all new to them every time u tell them. report yarco and there properties to the city u live in or report them to hud if u want something done about it.
Tips & Advices
Among the common scams pulled are needless repairs, where a garage charges you for work that isn't necessary. Another popular one is attracting customers through a cheap oil change or tire pressure check. Then, when you your car is being repaired, they give you a long list of other corrections they'd like to make, therefore boosting the total cost of your bill. The best way to combat these types of problems is getting a written estimate before work is done so you can see how much repairs are expected to cost. If the final bill is higher than the estimate projected, ask to specifically see the work. Make sure information is put in writing as well. If a problem remains, you can have proof that work was not done to your satisfaction.
For winter driving, features such as the defroster, heater and exhaust system are paramount. Look in your owner's manual for specific directions on how features should be checked and repaired. Many newer cars have a cabin air filter that can be replaced when needed, allowing warm air to continue to flow in. Also, check tires before winter driving, as they need to be at the proper pressure to perform well on snow and ice.
In the spring and summer, you want to be sure your air conditioner and cooling systems work correctly. Given the high temperatures, overheating is a common problem. Look over the system by ensuring there is enough coolant available. If it needs to be refilled, it is best to open the hood and add more to the car before it gets too warm out. Also, clean out fan ducts and other ventilation sources necessary for summertime driving.
Some fixes to your car can be done without paying a specialist. Issues like replacing oil and air filters are relatively simple, with instructions provided in the owner's manual on how to make these changes. The same goes for replacing broken windshield wipers or burnt-out headlights. Such issues should be repaired quickly to guarantee safety, but don't require a visit to a garage.
Yes. Not every type of auto repair work needs to be done by a certified mechanic. You can fix some of a vehicle's issues just by paying attention to how the automobile is running and having a basic understanding of auto repair. Look over the ways weather may impact your car and what preventative measures you can take to avoid having to take it into the shop.
