Animal Clinic
I have been there a few times and the main Vet is great....the vet that takes care of birds did treat my bird....did no good...have to go back again for a follow up (and there is no charge for a follow up)he also seemed like he doesn't much care...Don't think he would have said one word if I hadn't talked....however there is a main Vet. there that is GREAT and very caring to your animal. You must have gotten the Curly haired one....he is a little strange but has been there a longggg time so he must be doing something right.I think it's his "bed side manner" so to speak that leaves a lot to be desired.I do recommend the other vet if you can request him. Can't remember his name at the moment but you could ask for the vet that isn't the bird Dr. LOL

Crestview Animal Hospital
I have been using Dr. Ginsberg as my primary veterinarian for 5 years now. The 2 girls he has there in staff are always very sweet and knowledgeable. I have 2 cats and 3 dogs that he sees. I have never had any problems with my dog's spay or cat's neuters that required pain meds as suggested by the person below. I would assume they don't give pain meds as a norm because if they're feeling good they want to run around when they should be resting. But anyway, what vet office doesn't smell like animals? I guess being a farm girl these things just never bothered me. Dr. G. Has always been good to my pets and to the lady that lost her cat, sorry for your loss. I'm sure Dr. G and his wonderful staff did everything they could for it.

Crestview Animal Hospital
For four years now, Dr. Ginsberg has always given my German Shorthair Pointer excellent care, and is up to date on the lastest care. Even though there is no concern for Lyme disease locally, he knew that the areas where we go in the UP would be a concern and vaccinated for it. Always gentle and thorough, and does not rush us through the appointment. We love our dog, and trust Dr. Ginsberg completely, and know him to be a kind, gentle, caring man. His staff is always pleasant and happy to see our dog, and on at least two occasions were able to see us right away when our dog tangled with a porcupine and raccoon. 100% happy pet & owners.

Sprinkle Road Veterinary Clinic
I've been going to the Sprinkle Road Clinic and seeing Dr. Rower for years. Recently, my furry friend is suffering from some neurological issues and Dr. Rower has been a tremendous help. Hes been following up with phone calls, to check up on my dog. The staff is very warm and friendly with positive attitudes. The clinic is clean, inviting and does not smell! You will find no better veterinarian clinic in S.W. Michigan than Sprinkle Road Vegetarian Clinic.Thank you, Dr. Rower, and the entire staff, for taking care of my canine friends for years. I don't know what I would do without you people...

L Applegate DVM
A kind, compassionate lady, Lynn has always been super with my horses, cats, dogs and willing to take on challenge of any animal / pet i have had, she rescues many animals on her own as well, helpful, professional, organized, and hard working. I have nothing but good things to say about Lynn Applegate, I have known her for over 23 yrs, I am thankful for her selfish nature, to arrive day or night in emergencies , or for assistance over the phone. A lovely, compassionate woman, who has sacrificed so much to be a on call, horse and animal veterinarian in Kalamazoo and surrounding areas.

Crestview Animal Hospital
This owner guy vet did go out of his way during closing hours to help me with my questions, that is the only reason I gave this more than a one star and that the office lady seemed friendly. The rest of the time, this vet duos not seem to know what he is doing, its as if he is just getting too old and needs to retire. I was breeding my dog and this vet gave me a suggestion that did not seem right at all because I do my research online and even the stud owner suggested this idea of the vets is not a good idea. This vet really needs to retire and give someone else his job.

Pet Vet Family Pet Care Center
I have always received wonderful service at Pet Vet. I have an elderly dog who can no longer walk and Pet Vet has always taken wonderful care of her. I frequently use the boarding service, and my dog is always welcomed with a big smile. Pet Vet also offers a service at their boarding facility where they will send you an email and a photo of your pet, so you can check in on how things are going, while you are out of town. The staff is caring and friendly. Pet Vet also quickly fills the prescriptions my dog needs.

Pet Vet Family Pet Care Center
This place WAS great! They've treated my pets and I wonderfully since 98. I have a sick animal and cannot get in to the vet for a simple antibiotic until 7 days from today? Not only did you loose my respect Pet Vet, but you lost my business. My dog is feeling awful and "sorry the emergency vet number is..." (which they charge an arm and a leg for 150 to see the dog any anything additional after that...) won't work. THANKS!

Texas Corners Animal Hospital Inc
The service here is EXCELLENT!! We drive 8 miles just to take our animals to this office. The staff from the minute you walk into the door to seeing the Doctors are all very friendly and caring about your animals. If you have a problem as I did with my dog having an ear infection that the groomer caught, they worked me in. I can't say enough about them. We won't go anyplace else!!
Tips & Advices
Most 24-hour clinics do not allow owners to stay with their pets overnight. However, many do have specific visiting hours or will let owners see their pets at any point during the day. In addition, owners can call most clinics at any time for an update on their pet's well being.
  • Important phone numbers, especially those of the the veterinary clinic, the animal hospital or emergency clinic, and the poison control center
  • A book detailing pet first-aid steps
  • Copy of medical records
  • Nylon leash
  • Muzzle (only use if pet is not vomiting and has no difficulty breathing)
  • Absorbent gauze
  • Nonlatex disposable gloves
  • Scissors
  • Tweezers
  • Nail clippers
  • Digital thermometer
  • Sterile saline solution
  • Hydrogen peroxide (to induce vomiting only at the recommendation of a veterinarian
  • Milk of magnesia (to absorb poison only at the recommendation of a veterinarian)
Find a 24-hour animal hospital that provides emergency services within your area. Keep the facility's contact information in a place that's easy to locate, such as the refrigerator, address book, or smartphone. Most veterinary clinics operate on standard business hours and are not equipped to handle emergencies.
Veterinary clinics operate on a smaller scale than animal hospitals. The latter are more likely open 24 hours and provide emergency services. The former generally operate on typical office hours and only perform wellness exams and minor surgeries. Veterinary clinics also do not generally perform laboratory tests on site.
The specifics vary depending on the type of visit. For a wellness exam, bring:
  • Medical records
  • The type or brand of food the pet eats
  • Medication (including flea, tick, and heartworm medication).
If the animal needs medical treatment, the following may be helpful depending on the situation:
  • Fresh stool sample
  • Vomit sample
  • Video of the pet engaging in abnormal behavior
  • Substance the pet may have ingested
