Byrd's Specialty Firearms
I have purchased 2 pistols and a Mossberg 500a from this store in the last year. I have visited the shop 10 times. I paid 649$ for a new A.o. .45 1911-ann. On first shooting the front sight came off. I ordered a new front sight from the manufacturer and took it with me to the Byrd's. I asked the guy there (big guy) to tell me how to fix it. He put the sight on, tapped it in, then proceeded to use a tool to grind down the tenon on the front site. He handed it back to me and told me I need to EPOXY IT IN!! HOW CRAZY IS THAT! I knew that wasn't right, although I didn't know what the right technique was. Who puts epoxy on a 650$ pistol? I talked to a real gun smith, he told me the tenon that sticks down into the slide is supposed to be hammered down with a front sight staker, then ground smooth. SO, the guy RUINED my front sight, now I have to buy a new one, and he didn't just come out and tell me he didn't have the slightest clue what he was doing. The only reason I gave this store 2 stars is because they have a wide selection of guns and lots of cheap used ones, otherwise it would have received 1 star. Other than that, they don't know the first thing about customer relations. I will not be returning to this store. After spending almost 2 thousand dollars there, they could care less about me, my name, or anything else about maintaing a customer relationship.

I just was there today and they were very nice and acted like they really wanted to help me. The selection was great and the prices were too. I ended up buying a hand gun (NEW) at the best price in the area.
