Sears Appliance Repair
I would have given a higher rating for the service guy because it's not his fault that he has to continue to repair garbage. After some lengthy research on our refrigerator we have discovered that our Kenmore elite is not the elite. It's a pain in our behinds! I don't believe it's 2 years old yet and is going on its FOURTH repair. It just decides to stop working. The freezer seems to work but fridge and ice maker don't! We are tired of throwing food in the garbage! What really pisses me off is that they know what's wrong! They come for 2 minutes to say they have to order a known defective part, then give you a repair date that about 3 weeks or so out! The come to install it, which takes about 3 minutes, and that's it! So that's a month or so without your refrigerator! I guess that's ok, right!? Come clean and replace these garbage "high priced" appliances! Or at least stock your service trucks with the parts you know will fail. And stop trying to sale me other services when I call about this crappy service! Do you really think I want anything else from you right now while I have a stainless steel paper weight sitting in my kitchen, I think not.

My biggest complaint with Sears service is being charges a "diagnostic fee" for the original visit. When I tell them the make, model number and what part needs to be replaced and they come out and say , "yes that part needs to be replaced, but we don't have it on the truck, we'll have to come back in a week to fix it." How is that good service? Sears charges $100 to come out and confirm what is wrong and then another $100 labor to fix the problem plus parts. It is basically $100 charge for NO SERVICE. What a rip off! And they wonder why they are hemorrhaging customers.

Sears customer service was great. The technichian was experienced (37 years with Sears). He did a thorough job. This was a scheduled maintenance check. Customer service called the day before to verify the appointment and they kept in touch via e-mail. I just bought another appliance from Sears and I'm glad I did.

Part was supposed supposed to be in Saturday it's Monday and it still isn't there. Went in and they didn't even care. One man just walked away to avoid the situation all together. I'll never go back there.

Sears Appliance Repair
From the moment I chatted on line to when my dryer was fixed the personal were most gracious and helpful. The cost was extremely reasonable and saved me at least $500 by not having to purchase a new dryer. Their on line web page was easy to use and the repair man came when scheduled and worked very efficiently and was very nice. Oh yes I would recommend them and use them again.

Sears Appliance Repair
For anyone that owns a Sears appliance that is less than 10 years old - I would highly recommend looking into the protection agreement! My water heater started leaking after 8 years and because I had the agreement I did not need to pay for the replacement, delivery, installation or haul away. They even transferred my new unit to my existing contract!! this was all taken care of within 2 business days. (Called on a Monday morning and it was all done by Tuesday evening). Probably saved me $1,000 easily and no hassle.

I have had sears come out 2 times to look at my washer because it was leaking from front door. Neither technician was able to help, or diagnose the problem. Sears doesn't want to replace anything or give me any solution other that there may be hair in the door making it leak. The machine leaked while technician was here, still claims door may not be sealing due to my not cleaning it. Very disappointed in my LG front loader I just purchased in March.. steer clear

We have used Sears appliance repair for almost 10 years. I use them because as a corporation and if something goes wrong there is always a manager or corporate person to help you get the problem solved. A few years ago our basement fridge went out and I called a local guy. He was very nice but he cut the freon tubing and added a fill valve. This in turn caused a boatload of problems. I complained and he blew it off, he worked for himself so what can you do? Anyway that fridge failed and several companies wanted no part of looking at it because of what the guy did. Sears has been out at least 15 times in the last 12 years and they have always been very courteous and professional. I did not give them 5 stars because I did have 1 event where they did not come out as scheduled, their computer cancelled the appointment. As a side note. Don't buy a Samsung Fridge google Samsung refrigerator lawsuit. and stay away from GE and GE profile. they are terrible!

Tips & Advices
Aftermarket replacement parts can be perfectly safe and reliable, but be sure to do your research. If replacing a more integral piece, such as washing machine’s water pump or a thermostat for a busted water heater, it might be best to purchase new.
Replacement parts generally come with warranties extending anywhere from 30 days to five years, depending on the original price, the nature of the fix and the age of the part itself.
If you’re seeking new parts repair companies will generally mark up their prices slightly--particularly at a major national retailer. However, used parts are typically discounted.
Cheaper used appliance parts can be found online or at many local, independently owned retailers, along with ecommerce sites such as eBay. Major retailers, however, generally limit their selection to unused, full-priced options.
Second-hand appliance parts are generally anywhere between 50-75% cheaper than new ones, but warranties might not extend as long and the parts may be less reliable or come with a shorter lifespan. Be sure to research the source of any second-hand parts to ensure the dealer is reputable and the part itself reliable.
