Johnson City Ford
I have never been to a dealership and didn't feel pressure from a salesmen but Johnson City Ford is so much different. Saturday afternoon me and my wife was looking at cars all day long I decided to drop by Johnson City Ford and see what they had and the car salesman Nick came to us and shook our hand and introduced himself and asked us how we were doing like he knew us forever. We explained what our situation was and we were just looking to buy later sometime. We first were just looking for my wife we test drove a 2017 escape love while sitting down and working on financing we got a 2017 escape with the best interest rate we have ever got and I mentioned that I would be looking to trade my current vehicle in because I had negative equate they said the were possibly able to get me at a 0% interest rate so after test driving a 2016 Fusion I knew what I wanted and went back in after signing paperwork for my wife and signed paperwork with 0% financing with my trade-in and negative equity.

Discount Auto Sales
They were friendly but ...After installing my clutch, my hill holder (which is connected to the clutch) immediately started locking up. I called and left a message about my problem but after a couple weeks I realized they had no intention to call back. I dropped it off to have them look at it and I explained the problem, they said they would look at it that same day and get back with me. After 1 week without hearing from them I called but got no answer so a left a message. No one returned my call so I drove by and they were just getting to it. After asking for more info. about the problem they told me they would look at it and call me by the end of the day (Friday). End of the day came and no call. Monday, when I go to pick it up they give me a $75 bill - no warning, no call to verify whether I want them to do new work or ask if I would accept the charge, no explanation as to whether they caused the issue when they did the clutch work. They got my money but lost my business.

Vines Auto Service
At the recommendation of a friend, I started using Vines Auto Service when I purchased a pre-owned vehicle with 100K miles. I took the truck to have them look it over. David and the mechanics looked over the car and told me what kind of shape it was in and what I needed to expect to do over the next year. This pre-purchase eval was very helpful in making my purchase decision, and then at the times when this truck has needed work, they have been honest, provided great value for the high quality work, always explained everything to my satisfaction, offered transport if needed. I have used their service for A/C work, brakes, routine oil and filter change, and some other work over the 3 years I have had this truck. I am all in for small businesses in the community and I am so glad that my friend recommended them. Now I recommend them as well.

Johnson City Honda
"Wanted to share that Katelyn Brown and Van Redstone were excellent in working with me to purchase a 2015 Honda Fit thru the TrueCar program. After working with Katelyn over the phone, upon arriving I asked if I could work with Van Redstone as my sales person. I had read other good reviews about him as a salesperson. But, Katelyn was also very professional in her information, keeping me up to date as to the status of the arrival of the car. She was always responsive to my telephone calls, as I was traveling 100 miles from my home to do business with Johnson City Honda. Thank you Katelyn and Mr. Van Redstone."

Wallace Volkswagen Subaru Suzuki Mitsubishi of Johnson City
Were driving our Subaru cross county when hit a large cement cinderblock on highway near Wallace Subaru. Took it in for check over at Wallace Subaru, expecting a long delay because we did not have an appointment. The dealership had plenty of service folks working to help the people ahead of us and then took us. Super, super friendly and polite. Looked over the car, drove it, topped off fluids, checked for anything else that could be a problem on our trip back to Boston. All done in about one hour. Refused any payment! I sure wish our local Subaru dealer was like Wallace.

American & Import Auto Repair
Incredibly personable staff. I had stripped screws on my oil filter and they had someone come out and explain the problem and then he even went off to see if he could find me a better deal on the part! Waiting room was very comfortable w/ amenities and they didn't mind that I needed to stay for however long my car took. The final price was about 20 bucks less than a phone quote I got from some place closer. I drove forty-five minutes to try these guys and it was worth it!

I have done business at Wallace for 11 years. They have always done right by me. Wallace Service Department is the best. They get my car in and out. I have never had trouble with getting an appointment or have to worry about it taking too much time. They are always accommodating and considerate of my time. I have sent many friends to Wallace for service and they are just as satisfied. Thanks Wallace and keep up the good work.

I have been a loyal Wallace customer for over 7 years. There are few businesses that treat me with the professionalism and customer service as does Wallace. Service work recently completed was done on time as promised and within the expected cost. Service Manager Barry did a great job in explaining the whys and wherefores of the work to be done. I would not hesitate to recommend a friend to Wallace!!

Vines Auto Service
I only trust David and his team with the maintenance of my vehicle. I can't say enough about them! They are honest and fair... Not to mention they have saved me hundreds of dollars by having them work on it instead of the dealership. They specialize in German engineering, which is super hard to find, but they can work on any type of car you have. If I could rate them 20 stars, I absolutely would.

Jim's Motorcycle Sales of Johnson City Inc Honda & Suzuki
Just got my bike back from service. Had my bike serviced there a few times now. This last time, they fixed up the areas I messed up when I fell on it. Put on the new parts. It looked great and runs great. Very satisfied. Like their mechanic -- he's quite the character. Good personality, friendly, approachable. Hopefully I won't need to take my bike in again, but if so, I'll come here again.
Tips & Advices
Among the common scams pulled are needless repairs, where a garage charges you for work that isn't necessary. Another popular one is attracting customers through a cheap oil change or tire pressure check. Then, when you your car is being repaired, they give you a long list of other corrections they'd like to make, therefore boosting the total cost of your bill. The best way to combat these types of problems is getting a written estimate before work is done so you can see how much repairs are expected to cost. If the final bill is higher than the estimate projected, ask to specifically see the work. Make sure information is put in writing as well. If a problem remains, you can have proof that work was not done to your satisfaction.
For winter driving, features such as the defroster, heater and exhaust system are paramount. Look in your owner's manual for specific directions on how features should be checked and repaired. Many newer cars have a cabin air filter that can be replaced when needed, allowing warm air to continue to flow in. Also, check tires before winter driving, as they need to be at the proper pressure to perform well on snow and ice.
In the spring and summer, you want to be sure your air conditioner and cooling systems work correctly. Given the high temperatures, overheating is a common problem. Look over the system by ensuring there is enough coolant available. If it needs to be refilled, it is best to open the hood and add more to the car before it gets too warm out. Also, clean out fan ducts and other ventilation sources necessary for summertime driving.
Some fixes to your car can be done without paying a specialist. Issues like replacing oil and air filters are relatively simple, with instructions provided in the owner's manual on how to make these changes. The same goes for replacing broken windshield wipers or burnt-out headlights. Such issues should be repaired quickly to guarantee safety, but don't require a visit to a garage.
Yes. Not every type of auto repair work needs to be done by a certified mechanic. You can fix some of a vehicle's issues just by paying attention to how the automobile is running and having a basic understanding of auto repair. Look over the ways weather may impact your car and what preventative measures you can take to avoid having to take it into the shop.
