Sandra Rizzo Attorney at Law
We used Sandra for both the sale and purchase transactions. Overall, it was a very positive experience and we highly recommend her. My wife and I are not well experienced in real estate transactions (this was the 1st time we sold and 2nd time we bought). Sandra made extra efforts to ensure we were comfortable and understood everything we were committing to. It was quite clear from the beginning that she knew her stuff. We met a few other lawyers before deciding on Sandra and one of the key deciding factors was that we didn't want the other party of the transaction to have Sandra representing them against us :) Real estate is never easy - at one point, we were considering purchasing a short sale and again Sandra provided great guidance through that process as well. She understands the local real estate market well and we she was more than happy to provide us much needed insight when key decision points in the transactions arose. Her expertise in negotiating was often on display, particularly in her responses to inspection / closing credits (on both sale and buy). Her carefully crafted responses and strong efforts saved us quite a bit of money. Finally, we also wanted to know that Sandra was very up front with her fees and we were charged as agreed. Overall, we found Sandra very easy to work with and very responsive. We would highly recommend her and most definitely use her again in the future. As a related note, we also use Marge Crimmons as a realtor on both transactions. They make an excellent team - great balance and excellent advice.

Simply a wonderful and caring office where I felt that I wasn't just another client or a retainer fee. My consultation was free and it wasn't over until all of my questions were answered fully and in a language that I could understand. Two attorneys worked on my case, Brian and Adam and both were very good and knew their stuff. Everything was worked out with my husband's attorney and needless to say I was more than satisfied with the results. They are expensive more than some other firms that I had consultations with but I was rushed in and out of the other consultations and did not have the same feeling that they really were concerned about me, just my money.

Only found this office after going online and reading reviews about Tanya on this site and on Avvo, another online lawyer listing site. I met with and subsequently retained Tanya to represent me because I wanted a woman lawyer to represent me because I have kids and thought that a woman would better understand me and my concerns in my divorce. Well I was right in my choice because I was very pleased with the agreement that my ex and I signed and the case only took a couple of months. had I known how the process worked I would not have waited so long to start the divorce and endured a bad marriage for as long as I did.

Yacker Glatt
i called the office for a free consultation concerning a real estate purchase and related issue we were having. I was pleased to be connected directly to Jay Yacker i explained our situation and was then offered some very sound advice that ultimately steered me away from spending any additional money. Though Jay could have tried selling me on his services he instead explained that it was in my best interest to save my money. Thanks to Jay, my mind is at rest on the situation and I now have someone I can trust for legal issues in New Jersey

No question that BCF law office is on the one!! Did my case like a real pro and they got it dismissed. I was in a serious situation with my driver's license on the line in North Bergen municipal court and I needed a miracle, well thanks to kelvin Gill who went to court with me the judge tossed three out of the four tickets and I only pleaded guilty to a no point ticket with no surcharge!!!! That's what I call representation!!!!!!! thank you Kelvin and I will always recommend your office if someone I know has to go to court.

The Law Offices of Joel Silberman,LLC
I am very happy with the services I received from the Law Office of Joel Silberman, LLC. When our son was arrested for a crime, we had no clue what to do or where to turn. We were so relieved when we hired criminal defense attorney Joel Silberman. He explained everything that was going to happen. He was always available to answer our questions and address any concerns. We highly recommend Mr. Silberman. He was a true professional at all times!

Tanya and Brian were absolutely perfect in the way they worked my divorce case. I always felt like they were on top of their game and the results proved it!! Tanya was especially involved in filing the motions and meeting with me but they really took a joint approach in working the case together. Without a doubt I was totally satisfied with how my case was resolved even through it did cost a lot of money.

There are a lot of lawyers out there but with the Freemans I have found the lawyers for me. They are the best at municipal court cases. I was in a real jam and my driver's license was going to be suspended like forever that will I hired there office. Anthony came to court with me and he worked his magic with the prosecutor and poof I kept my license.

I retained him for some Real Estate review. I put down a $500 retainer. I had him review a lease, and it looked like he barely read the lease with very few concerns for protecting me as a client. I got no bill. When I asked for my deposit back, he said that he had gone through the deposit. I asked for a bill and I still haven't received it.
Tips & Advices
When it comes time to choose a lawyer, you should start by searching close to home. If you do have attorneys you are familiar with, ask who they believe would be best for you. After going through personal references - especially from individuals who had similar needs - you should broaden your search through public information resources. You can call your area's attorney referral service or check legal organizations like Martindale-Hubbell. There are other resources available online, such as yellowpages.com. You can check websites for client reviews and other third-party forms of approval.
If you sign documents and you come across a word you don't recognize, or you need help to navigate important employment or real estate paperwork. Also, during times when personal matters intersect with legal proceedings, you might need to have an advocate to prevent your emotions from getting in the way. If you've been accused of a crime or are in a terrible financial situation, you can find an attorney who will work with what you have available.
When you hire a lawyer, you're agreeing to work with someone over a certain period of time. The more forthcoming the lawyer appears to be with individual needs, the better.
  • You need to ask questions about how the attorney will communicate with you and what responsibilities you hold in the relationship.
  • The attorney should let you know the best channel for quick communication and you need to inform him or her when you want updates.
  • You should also ask questions to get to know the attorney as an individual in order to ensure this is a person you can trust. Ask about their legal philosophy and how he or she views the lawyer/client relationship. Ask as how to keep fees down or what daily disruptions you should expect from a long legal battle.
You need to ask about every possible fee that will come up when working with an attorney. You should request a list of all costs in advance so you won't be surprised by additional expenses like overhead. Also determine exactly when you will start being billed. You want to inspect paperwork carefully. If the attorney charges you for his or her experience, you need to make sure he or she will perform tasks personally and not hand it off to an assistant. Find out if the attorney has a flat fee or charges by the hour. Many civil lawyers work on contingency. Make inquiries about how the lawyer plans to provide service for your money and what you can do if you start to feel unsatisfied with his or her performance.
You can ask how many similar cases they have handled and if they have special skills or training that applies specifically to your needs. Lawyers can't mention clients by name, but you should ask for basic details about identical past cases. You should check their office for the appropriate certifications and diplomas. You can also ask how long he or she has practiced law and request information that demonstrates the practice's success. Look for precise details such as percentage of cases settled out of court.
